The Finns sure know how to make a crash-and-burn driving game. Bugbear has transformed the Ridge Racer franchise in to a whole new level. This game has attitude. [May 2012]

The second prototype is almost an exact match of the previous incarnation. Corny story and the dull mission design rip the edge off. The mayhem at Manhattan is still fun, but the game could be so much better. Hopefully the third version is ready for production. [May 2012]

Pandora's Tower is a fun action adventure in an interesting world. Too bad the level design can get a bit monotonous and the main characters lack a lot of charisma. [May 2012]

Ninja Gaiden 1 and 2 were impressive displays from Team Ninja. The third instalment in the series is not cut from the same cloth. The combat system has been dumbed down and the enemies do not pose the threat they used to. Ninja Gaiden 3 is a big letdown. [May 2012]

Napoleonic Wars shows that future is the wrong way for shooters to go. Excellent Napoleon-era gameplay has totally new, totally fresh dynamics. [May 2012]

A worthy pack of extra fun. The island of Gallows End is a distinct location with it's own feel. The story of the undead pirate Dead Kel is surprisingly good and lengthy. [May 2012]

Although not as good as Legend of Dead Kel, Teeth of Naros still manages to create a fun adventure. The visual style for the new area is simply gorgeus. [May 2012]

A rather simple collection of five Kinect mini-games with a Star Wars theme. Two of the games are good, two are okay and the last one boring and it's hard to evaluate their long-term appeal, but overall it's a fun, silly game for those who do not take Star Wars too seriously. [May 2012]

Kid Icarus: Uprising is an underdog tale: how an action game can be thoroughly enjoyable even when it suffers from some severe control problems. [May 2012]

EA Sports makes a successful return to street football. FIFA Street is a fluid and enjoyable experience, although it lacks the depth of its father. Bring aboard a friend or two to enjoy it even more. [May 2012]

An excellent action-RPG. The pawns are interesting AI-companions. The story is nothing special, though. [May 2012]

Botanicula looks and sounds amazing, just looking at it makes you happy! That said, it could have benefited from better puzzle design and the story delves a bit too deep into absurd and vague territory. Thankfully, the good outweighs the bad and Botanicula ends up being an enjoyable adventure. [May 2012]

A nice combat flight simulator. It's not as deep as the PC counterparts, but the flying is quite realistic nonetheless. The campaign missions need some permanent checkpoints and the versus multiplayer could be more varied, though. [May 2012]

Armored Core V depicts fast-paced mech-warfare, where mech-building skills and tactical manoeuvres are as important as quick reflexes. [May 2012]

Assaults the rough no man's land between wargaming and real time strategy. The host of cold war weapon systems modelled are abstracted mostly at the right places, while having the fastest mouse finger falls always second to commanding with the big picture in mind and mastering wargaming concepts like recon and use of reinforcements. UI could use more polish and tell the player a bit more, a bit clearer, but still the trip to this seldom seen cold war era is a blast. [Apr 2012]

Although the game has some obvious issues, mainly the controls and the over-the-top difficulty level, the game sure has some character. Fast paced shooter/racer is a great way to get rid of stress. The network game is pure adrenaline packed fun. [Apr 2012]

The Boshin War marked the end of one era in Japan's history. The civil war, fought from 1868 to 1869 between forces of the Tokugawa shogunate and the Imperial troops, provides an excellent basis for a Total War game. Caught between the crossfire of different factions, Western influences and rapid technological development, Japan was reshaped. Fall of the Samurai draws successfully from this interesting setting. The battles are as massive and tactical as ever and conquering Japan province by province is immensely satisfying despite the familiar feeling of the game. [Apr 2012]

From Ashes offers interesting new lore for the fans, but little anything else. The only new mission is very short shooter, which hardly justifies the price. The new squadmate does have a lot of things to say during the gameplay, if you carry him with you to every mission. Still, From ashes is only worth getting if you really want to see everything Mass Effect universe has to offer. [Apr 2012]
