    Starbase Orion is a close-to-perfect rendition of the classic Master of Orion. For an old MOO fan it's easy to fall in love with the appealing visuals and excellent touch UI. There are some failures though, namely the lack of diplomacy, tactical combat and challenge from the AI races. [Nov 2011]

    Starbase Orion has an "epic-feeling" as you strive to expand your empire across the galaxy. There's several facets to this game, as described above, but the interface pulls it all together nicely, so everything is easy to find.

    This remake of "Master of Orion" is exceptional as it is the work of an individual - Rocco Bowling - and his small team of friends. It gives you the whole experience of playing a full fledged 4x game condensed in a few hours. There is multiplayer option, lots of customization parameters for single player and a very active forum. As @doggystyle has put it, it would be perfect if it was little more challenging (although I have yet to try the "impossible" level.… Expand
