Sid Meier's Starships takes a stab at space empire building with a light, turn-based tactical combat. It ends up too light though, with a very straightforward and simple strategic layer, and a decent but repetitive combat. It would have done well to take a step in the direction of classic Starfleet Command games to deepen the combat system. It's worst problem is though lack of feeling and chrome: you are not building your own eponymous Starships that you care about with the sterile and clinical technology system of the game. [Apr 2015]

The last of legendary series and offers an ending that is truly epic. Epic fail. Redesign for the sake of redesign is stupid and lobotomizing is triple stupid. [Apr 2010]

A decent hack 'n' slash action-RPG. Too bad the multiplayer game is too expensive for what it is. [Jan 2007]

Deathspank's third adventure is full of crazy comedy, wicked dialog and witty locations. Despite the obvious design flaws, this game is really refresing experience, when compared to other representatives of the action RPG genre. The catch of this game is the script. The somewhat outdated game mechanics are there just to back it up. [Oct 2011]

Could anyone take less risks designing a license action-adventure? Nice graphics and sound, but super simplistic gameplay. Also super boring. [Sept. 05]

The latest offering in the Ratchet & Clank series fails to innovate, instead opting to blend overused formulas that other games have done better. The current road for the series seems bleaker with every passing installment. [Jan 2013]

Well, you certainly didn't see this one coming. Zombie invasion in Yakuza controlled Kamurocho is certainly something you don't see every day. The game isn't an Asian version of the Left 4 Dead, thanks to the sloppy controls. [May 2012]

Decent sneak-and-shoot FPS. The Cold War theme is refreshing and the X-ray camera rocks. Unfortunately the game is lacking in the AI department and never builds enough tension to really pull you in. [Dec 2005]

Not exactly a bad RPG but not a particularly good one, either. On the plus side, the story is OK and has a couple of interesting characters, but the overall atmosphere is bland and uninspired. [Apr. 05]

Looks good occasionally, but is for the most parts an annoying street soccer experience. Stiff animations and a strangely behaving ball really take the fun out of football. [Mar 2006]

Alpha Protocol reminds me of old Troika RPG's: the setting and ideas are great, but the technical execution is a bit flawed. Still, if you can look past the ugly exterior it's a fun experience. [June 2010]

NBA 08 is no more than a mediocre basketball game. The gameplay is too simple and easy to master. Lack of decent season mode is also a big problem. [Mar 2008]

The new content is quite good, but it’s disappointing to see that the storytelling is still going nowhere. The great mystery and clever execution is clearly there, but at some point Destiny needs to start providing answers. [Jan 2015]

A decent enough action-adventure in the vein of GTA and Crackdown. Spider-Man's web-slinging abilities are depicted very well. Go for the Xbox 360 version, the rest are not worth your time. [June 2007]

Gothic 3 has an amazingly large world to explore and tons of things to do, but also a lot of rough edges. The AI is slow-witted and the combat system is mere button smashing. Still, with some faith, Myrtana is a great place to get lost into. [Dec 2006, p.82]
