Detective work works, but needless action elements make this worst Sherlock so far. [Aug 2016]

War for the Overworld fixes some minor problems of the original Dungeon Keeper games, but does not innovate further when it comes to dungeon building. [March 2016]

Takes you back to the world of minigames. It seems like the best ideas are already used, though. Only the mic games are slightly refreshing. [Jan 2006]

A quite decent FPS and certainly an improvement over the original. It's quite unoriginal, though, and the opening level is very dull, but it gets better after that. [June 2011]

Metroid Prime: Federation Force is a clear sign of Nintendo either not understanding or just not caring about what kind of games their player base wants. It’s a shame really, since Federation Force controls pretty well. It just has the burden of being a multiplayer shooter in a series no one wants to be about multiplayer shooters and on a platform no one wants to use for multiplayer games outside of Japan. Legions of Steel does something wrong. I love turn-based tactical games, but this did not connect at any level. Bland graphics, too big levels causing a lot of empty turns, on which move too many units. [Oct 2015]

Aliens vs Predator on Xbox 360 is a huge disappointment. Shaky controls make marine campaign worst of the lot and predator has lost his cool gear, forcing him to focus too much on melee. Of the three only alien campaign is somewhat fun to play. And what happened to the visuals? Sub-par resolution and bad play-doh design make everything look murky and just plain bad. Thankfully the PC version is at least a bit better. [Mar 2010]

Yearly update to the Farming Simulator offers the best digital farming experience available. Grinding money will keep you occupied for a while, but eventually you want something more. If only the game had a story and GTA-ish approach to game design, they would make this game series an instant cult classic. [Jan 2015]

A very pretty and in some parts surprising arcade racer. It takes a step or two towards the original Need for Speed and that's a good thing. There's one annoying problem, though. The stupidly expensive police cars are just, well, really stupid. [Dec 2011]

Another Sonic Collection. "Mega Collection Plus" was good value, but this one is a disappointment. Why were not these included on the Mega Collection? Sonic CD is a nice Sonic game, though. [Nov 2005]

Looks dated, but offers unprecedented freedom on the battlefield. The combat is fabulously realistic as are the environments. Minor problems and a handful of bugs creep up every now and again. [Nov 2005]

WRC 4 is at times and enjoyable view into World Rally Championship, but it again fails to live up to its hype. And what's the deal with Neste Oil Rally? I barely recognized it as Finland. [Dec 2013]

A fine, if somewhat simple space-shooter. While space opera certainly requires a suitably pompous storyline, the silly teenage drama is almost too much to bear. While the space combat action plays out great, the missions suffer from the pointless time limits. [Sept 2007]

An excellent war game. Blitzkrieg fixes almost all of the problems the first game had (a small Africa etc). The AI could still be better, though. [May 2006]

A mishmash of simple text adventuring and lots of different minigames. Strangely, it kind of works, thanks largely to the interesting story. It's too easy and lacking in presentation, but a nice little space adventure nonetheless. [Aug 2012]

Eidolon is a beautiful, meditative experience. Sure, it's a bit simplistic and walking does get tiring after a while, but there a few games that manage to create such an absorbing atmosphere. [Nov 2014]

Pleasant to look at, but has very limited tactical depth. What is worse there is not really much else to do other than fire the phasers. Only a die-hard trekkie could enjoy this – and, sadly, probably will. [Feb 2007]

Though both the game's story and the way it is told are not exactly original, exploring the wonderfully immersive sci-fi environments more than make up for it. VR gear or not, Pollen is a captivating experience. [May 2016]

Mario and his friends take on yet another sports game. This time the game revolves around basketball, ice hockey, dodge ball and volley ball. The selection is slim, but only half of the package work as it should. Still it's been sold for a full price. [May 2011]

SimCity is basically a good game, although it's crippled by poor technical choices and the DRM that requires an internet connection for single player game is obviously the worst thing since the plague. It's very fun to play, but after a brief building stage all there is left to do is to optimize, optimize and optimize. There's a load of patching to do. [Apr 2013]

Of Orcs and Men might seem like a traditional role-playing game, but it turns the roles of heroes and villains upside down. Orcs and goblins are oppressed while humans enjoy the good life. The game gets a bit repetitive towards the end and the AI is downright awful, but it is still a worthwhile play. Highly recommended to players who are sick and tired of knights in their shining armor running the show. [Nov 2012]
