Suffers from the same basic flaw as "Euro Forces" did. Servers are not identified, which causes problems for vanilla players, and therefore servers do not use the booster packs. [Aug 2006, p.60]

F.E.A.R.: Extraction Point has great action scenes, but none of them feel any different from what was seen in the original F.E.A.R. What really ruins the expansion is the lacklustre storyline, which basically gives you no answers. [Dec 2006]

A traditional point & click adventure without the cliches and problems of the genre. The ending feels rushed and the game is overall slightly too easy, but otherwise Shardlight is a treat. [May 2016]

Left 4 Dead 2: The Passing is a bit better than Crash Course DLC for Left 4 Dead, but only barely. Three levels is still too few for a campaign and the potential drama from the original survivors isn't used up to its potential. Also the campaign is filled with the least desirable ideas from Left 4 Dead, like annoying perma-panic in shallow water and yet another scavenge-type ending. Maybe next time we'll finally get something decent, Valve? [June 2010]

Atom Zombie Smasher is a strangely compelling game. At the same time, it's simple but addictive, funny yet disturbing. It does get repetitive after a while, but not until you've gotten your money's worth. [May 2011]

Digitized world of wrestling gets even closer of the beat'em'up genre. Simplified mechanics and exaggerated graphics highlight this transition from Smackdown series. Wrestling is fun with a friend, solo wrestling is only for Monty Python. [May 2011]

A splendid dancing game although the new hit songs mostly suck and some the other songs have been recycled over and over again. Plus there are not that many new ideas compared to Unleashed 2. [Apr 2006]

Remake of the Wii's finest railshooter adds some action and polish and make's it's way to Playstation. Move is far more accurate than Wiimote and HD graphics give some shine to the gory action. For newbies this ride gives thrills and chills, but if the title is familiar from Wii, cussing and swearing sounds way too familiar. [Dec 2011]

A very entertaining combination of relatively normal arcade-racing, destruction derby and drifting. The tracks are too easy and the cars feel samey, though. [June 2012]

A bit of an ambiguous case. Game mechanics have been transferred to gamepad pretty well but on the other hand, do both versions suffer too much of the console adaptation? [June 2010]

ZoE's fighting system has aged well. While you can't say that for the rest of the first game, 2nd Runner is every bit as excellent today as it was in 2003. The HD makeup makes the games prettier, but unfortunately also causes some drops in the frames-per-second count. [Jan 2013]

More of the same old good Painkiller. I absolutely love the new sniper-auto-polegun. The underground tunnel levels are lame, but otherwise the level design ranges from mediocre to fine. [Jan. 05]

Better than its predecessor, but what the player gets is tedious and simplistic. Instead of a challenge, there is a three-unit real-time strategy without the strategy. The creature works rather well, though. [Oct 2005]

fast and furious, but much too tough at times. The strict time limits will not allow any mistakes, which can lead to mind-numbing repetition. Looks great, though. [Nov 2005]

A fun and very pretty arcade golf. Too bad it's way too easy - you win tournaments easily on your first try. Multiplayer matches are naturally tougher. [Aug 2008]

Fract OSC is an oddity. It's a game about electronic music that is first and foremost a glorious organic whole, with all the elements and puzzles of its beautiful world intricately connecting to each other. And it's really good. [May 2014]

Savage 2 combines first/third person multiplayer action and real-time strategy and does it very well. The learning curve is quite steep, because the tutorial and the manual are lacking but that’s the only major problem with game. [Mar 2008]

A decent flight shoot 'em up that tries hard to look like a simulator. The flying is too easy for its own good and the enemy AI is too repetitive. More sci-fi missions would not have hurt, either. [Sept 2006]

The PS2 conversion of a next-gen title is stripped down, but the beautiful sandbox of Oahu remains. There is plenty to do, but it is mostly the same not-so-fun driving and a couple of mission types over and over again. [Apr 2007]

BattleForge spices the RTS genre with aspects from collectible card games, but the whole is less than the sum of its parts: the strategy elements are too repetitive and the CCG side feels pointless. [May 2009]

Dying Light has a great start and for a while it feels like the best zombie game ever. However, as the campaign turns out to be excessively lengthy, the game starts to feel a bit repetitive. [March 2015]

A traditional point-and-click adventure game set in a world inspired by children's story books. Most of the puzzles are well designed but there are also few illogical ones that can be really hard to figure out. With some extra polishing time those could have been avoided. [Aug 2013]
