The remastered edition of Quake 2 is how every remastered edition should be: respectful of the original, inexpensive (even free for those who owned the original on Steam and GOG), yet at the same time filled with new content substantial enough to justify the return to the game even for those who know the title inside out. Nightdive Studios, in collaboration with Machinegames and id Software, has truly done an excellent job, confirming itself as one of the most suitable studios for such operations, to the extent that we go so far as to define Quake 2 as one of the best remasters ever. We hope that others take this as an example.- Multiplayer.it

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is Hideo Kojima to the nth degree, it is a video game so immersed in the language and imagery that the creative is in love with that, at times, it is as if the author had taken over his own work. Configuring itself as a great "Death Stranding 2.0", it chooses to anchor itself to a structure and progression identical to those of the first chapter and then enhance every element of the gameplay, whether it is the design of the open world, the raw amount of options underlying the delivery system or the mechanics of the action combat. It is still an absolute unicum, an experience linked to a unique poetics of its kind that uses music and the power of images to unleash sensations that cannot be found in any other production. In this case, however, the narration, the construction of the world, the imagination and the general structure fail to move organically, opening up several cracks in the story of Sam Porter Bridges.- Multiplayer.it

Honolulu is beautiful, Yokohama feels like home, Dondake Island is irresistible, and Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth is really a step away from being the best game of the Ryu Ga Gotoku Team. However, not all elements are organically integrated into the adventure, the plot initially struggles to find its place and the right pace, and although the combat system has improved, it is still not deep and manageable enough to support the entire duration of the adventure which, in the meantime, with Infinite Wealth, has significantly extended.- Multiplayer.it

Resident Evil Requiem is a creature split in two. Within itself it preserves some of the finest moments the Resident Evil saga has ever put on display: it’s rich in detail, brimming with love for the genre, and outstanding at staging horror, building it room by room, corridor by corridor—zombie by zombie. Like no one else in the world of video games knows how to do it. This talent comes through most fully in the moments featuring Grace Ashcroft. The first half of Requiem is the culmination of a journey that began thirty years ago. On the other hand, when the ball passes to Leon Kennedy, it fails to find the same balance. The second half is sloppy—adequate at best—with action that shatters the equilibrium between tension and release. What is unforgivable is that it forgets everything good it built in the first part. There is very little beneath the dusty surface of nostalgia—only the bitterness of having squandered the chance to deliver a new modern classic, in the usual, futile attempt to please everyone.- Multiplayer.it

Destiny 2: The Ultimate Form is an expansion that manages to carry on the tradition of the series by adding new content and significant improvements to the classic formula created by Bungie 10 years ago. Persona 3 Reload fails to fully capitalize on the potential of the original game, leaving too many of its less successful structural elements unchanged, and daring little in terms of reworking dialogues and events. That said, it rests on foundations so strong that it remains largely enjoyable for anyone today, and the work done by Atlus on mechanics and technical aspects has nevertheless managed to significantly modernize the game. That is enough to dive back into its world, because the story of Persona 3 deserves to be relived many times over, especially in such a carefully crafted and polished package.- Multiplayer.it

COCOON is a demonstration of how elegance always passes from simplicity, stemming from a clear idea of what you are. COCOON is not an adventure with strong narrative traction; it does not want to put violent dynamics at the center of the gameplay; it does not push the player to lap his brain for hours on seemingly unsolvable puzzles. COCOON is a work that is reduced to bone and, for this reason, wins; it is an elegant dance between worlds, capable of never being cloying; is an experience that focuses on the purely animal ability to analyze the environment and the available resources to find an efficient solution in any given situation.- Multiplayer.it

Edmund McMillen and Tyler Glaiel have delivered a simply outstanding roguelike, an adventure that unabashedly aims to seize the absolute pinnacle of the genre. Over 200 hours of core content, more than 100 bosses, upwards of 200 enemy types, more than 1,200 abilities, and 1,000 pieces of equipment: these are the cold numbers behind Mewgenics, but a boiling blood runs through its veins. By embracing the turn-based tactical RPG formula and distilling an explosive blend of cats and genetics, the authors have crafted a video game of extraordinary depth—a journey that leaves you slack-jawed almost entirely on the strength of its mechanics and pure game design, further elevated by irreverent writing and a completely unhinged soundtrack. There isn’t much else to add, because it is practically the Holy Grail for any fan of tactical RPGs and roguelikes: approach with caution, as it demands a considerable time investment and shows very little concern about kicking you squarely in the ass.- Multiplayer.it

Monster Hunter Wilds is, predictably, one of the strongest base chapters ever made in the series, if not perhaps the strongest because of its drive at innovation. Taking many of the best elements of World, Iceborne, Rise, and Sunbreak, without disdaining a wink to the past here and there, Capcom has created a perfectly structured game, capable of pleasing newcomers and veterans alike with its brilliant progression and the extraordinary quality of its gameplay. It is a pity that, once again, the zenith was only grazed, due to content that unravels a little too soon in the endgame and a technical element that is not as flawless as usual. These are, however, all features that will likely be smoothed out considerably in the coming months, and this is nonetheless an incredibly strong and successful game in its totality.- Multiplayer.it
