Atmospheric, deep and challenging, Severed is a great addition to the PlayStation Vita catalog.

Starhip Patrol is another great game from the Q-Games team; a perfectly balanced and accessible tower defense, with tons of style and great value for money. One of the rare gems on the disappointing DSiWare catalogue.

Another zombie game, another great tower defense. The videogames available on the App Store are becoming perhaps a bit monothematic, but it would be absurd to worry about these issues when someone publishes a gem like Zombie Smash!. This game is a blast, don't miss it.

Broken Age is the graphical adventure that we all have been waiting for the last 15 years. A great story with a great cast, pictured with stunning visual style, makes us wait eagerly for the Act 2.

WildStar stumbles on a thin line between being awesome and mediocre. Combat is fun, dungeons are hard, bosses are unique, crafting is good and the art style is all around excellent. However, the extremely sharp difficulty, the horrible pacing of quests and the shallow elitist mentality made up by the hardcore niche is leading to basically ruin all the good there is in a sincerely fun MMORPG.

OlliOlli2: Welcome to Olliwood on PC is the same masterpiece played on PlayStation 4.

A really good DLC, with pretty nice maps and new weapons.

Super Hydorah is a solid retro-style shooter, with plenty of weapons, enemies and bosses, nice levels and almost perfect touch controls.

Cyber Shadow stumbles just when it was supposed to shine, unnecessarily raising its difficulty in the final levels.

Star Drift Evolution is a minimalistic, unexpectedly deep and articulated racer, packed with a rich single player career that offers 75 vehicles and 50 tracks to unlock, but also a fun and frantic multiplayer mode.

Tales of Graces f Remastered is the usual remaster we came to expect from Bandai Namco: smoother visuals and frame rate, former DLCs included, quality of life improvements and no new content whatsoever. It helps we haven't got a Tales game in years and Graces f is an underrated little jewel of a JRPG.

Wreckfest is a solid arcade racer based on powerslides, muscle cars and spectacular battles, that delivers an immediate, enjoyable and content-rich experience.

A touching story told through the darkest hours of european history, supported by great art and music.

Final Fantasy VII is a legendary RPG who really deserves your attention if you never played it before. It feels clunky at times and the Switch porting has some issues which should have been fixed by now.

Resistance: Retribution is a solid third person shooter with nice gameplay, a good number of weapons and lots of levels to complete. It's far from a perfect game, the controls are slow and often unresponsive (the d-pad, in particular), but you'll probably enjoy it if you like the genre.

If not the most complex socio-economic simulator out there, Victoria 3 is certainly the most fun and user-friendly. Another hit and another "nextgen" strategy game after Crusader Kings 3.

A nice and funny take on the breakout formula that is best suited for short game sessions.

This ReMIX ha undoubtedly great value packed in, and it is a must-buy for any Kingdom Hearts fan as well for newcomers. Sure, Square-Enix could have put some more efforts in the Birth by Sleep port.

​Dragon Quest Builders for Nintendo Switch is a nice port from the PS4 version. Portability, this time at least, is not the winning condition but, despite that, the game still shines due to its qualities.

With his faithful reproduction not only of a graphic style, but of the overall spirit of the original 2D action game, Mega Man 10 stands as an example of a constructive approach to the vintage taste in videogaming. More than just a tribute, this game is a good new episode of the series and a very hard and exciting challenge.

The old formula of mining, crafting and building has been revamped in this cheerful, rich and diverse space sandbox.

Battleheart delivers an excellent mix of immediacy and depth, thanks to a good number of levels and an engaging gameplay. The game requires some effort to overcome the latest battles: you must manage upgrades, equipment and characters in order to complete all the challenges. The graphics are really cute and stylish. Don't miss it!

Bonfire Peaks is an experience with an important underlying message but some shortcomings in game design make the game heavier than it could have been.

Plenty of good content, but without astounding visuals, and a complex combat system. This is Injustice: Gods Among Us. Story Mode is long but also cheesy, and the roster is definitely enjoyable, but there are balance problems.

Even with a grimy netcode and a poor single-player mode, Nidhogg is a perfectly balanced multiplayer experience. Accessible for the average gamer, ideal for the pro and striking for an evening with some friends.

This is the best console version of one of the greatest open world RPGs ever, but with the same issues the original had. If you haven't played it, buy it, but otherwise, you can also keep your old Xbox 360/PS3 version.

With Pillars of Eternity, Torment: Tides of Numenera is the best isometric RPG of the new wave of the genre.

Kalimba brings something new to puzzle platformer genre and that's something that matters. It's not perfect, but it's colorful, funny, cheap and full of contents.

Definitely best than the sum of its parts, Plight of the Zombie is an original take on the strategic genre and -while it lasts- it's pretty good fun.

Wordament is yet another Boggle clone, with a cross-platform leaderboard and ten Achievements to unlock.

Brothers: a Tale of Two Sons efficiently brings his magic on mobile devices, even if the control system is not as good as the console versions.

Mimpi Dreams is a cute little adventure which is a little bit on the short and easy side, but it’s delightful nonetheless.

Mekorama is a well-crafted puzzle game with charming visuals, but it lacks some depth. Anyhow, its fascinating and relaxing world, its almost-too-fair monetization and the editor make this game a recommended download.

Stranger Things uses the nostalgic bait in an impressively fair way, putting together elements from the series and from classic action adventure with some real game design behind, and give us all of this for free.

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection is the crown jewel of a series that has always been somewhat underrated, despite having succeeded in the extremely difficult task of effectively translating the original series into a turn-based JRPG. Every refinement to the formula was carefully considered by studying the genre's modern landscape and what has worked in the most important games released in recent times, and the result is a balanced and satisfying Japanese RPG from every perspective, yet still deliberately aimed at a fairly specific audience. Ultimately, if you enjoyed the previous games and love Monster Hunter, prepare to spend countless hours hunting for eggs, combining genes, and battling monsters with spectacular abilities alongside memorable characters.

To The Moon is a game as special as different, not for everyone. It is more than story-driven and will make you laugh and cry, sometimes at the same time. Let it drive you into a great story for some hours of your life and you will be surely rewarded.

The new Madden NFL 15 is really the right game for those who really love football. It's a very good game and now it looks really good on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The Sims 3: WA changes some gameplay mechanics and give to The Sims experience some really new tastes. One of the best expansion packs of the series.

Quadrilateral Cowboy's hacking mechanics are open to anyone, even if you have never typed any command into a DOS-like shell before. It is a great game, but when it will be all done you'll probably want more of it because the missions never let you really experiment with the hacking terminal and other tools.

Slime-san: Superslime Edition is a great platform, with an interesting challenge level and dozens of collectibles.

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is a different kind of game than we expected, and in a good way. Ninja Theory has matured in terms of narrative and really managed to talk frankly about an abnormal condition of the mind. The gameplay should've been better, but it fits with the scope of the game.

A solid metroidvania that implements many elements from the souls series in a smart and interesting system. It's unique art style and inspired world greatly add to the overall quality, making it a valid choice for anyone who loves the genre.

Disgaea 5 Complete adds almost nothing to the PlayStation 4 we fell in love with, except for the free DLCs available at launch. This is basically the only flaw of one of the most compelling and deep strategy JRPG on the market.

Torchlight is a welcome addition to the XBLA portfolio. It's still a good game with all the good and bad aspects it had a couple of years ago when it came out on Steam.

Jurassic World Evolution 3 is gorgeous to look at and fantastic in the freedom it offers for customizing your own park. Moreover, this time the campaign is much more engaging and longer than before. There’s plenty to play, and on PC—if you know what you’re getting into—it’s unlikely to disappoint. However, the gameplay remains the weakest part of the package: mesmerizing as it may be, it’s still quite shallow and far too similar to the previous title.

If ain't broke, don't fix it: HAL Laboratory took that to the heart when they developed Planet Robobot, an extremely derivative sequel to the excellent Triple Deluxe. Kirby's new adventure is a fun and rich one, but it plays too safe the mechs featured do not really add that much to the same old structure.

Live A Live is an excellent HD-2D remake on its own but it often feels out of time.

As unnecessary Bowser's Minions may be, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga is an excellent remake of one of the best RPG spin-offs in the beloved franchise.

Rainbow Billy: Curse of the Leviathan is an interesting RPG, replacing classic battles with special moves and spells with dialogues and colors to throw. The plot is interesting, the art design distinctive, and the gameplay fun. It is lacking, however, a bit of originality and complexity, which would have made it an even more interesting game.

Hokkaido's map is solid and rich, but not as inspired as Sapienza (or as big and artistically strong). It's still a good closure to Hitman's first season though. Particularly recommended for those who love contracts.

Splatoon brings fresh and fast-paced online multiplayer action on the Wii U, but the game is restrained by some issues that prevent it from being an instant classic.

Agent A is a good adventure crafted with great style and big production values that unfortunately ends a little abruptly and soon.

Fuser is a playfully very fun and valid title, able to stimulate the creativity of EDM festival fans.

Take three cups of Back to the Future, add two teaspoons of Murakami and Ganbare Goemon, cream it together with Stranger Things and, at the end, spice it up with Earthbound: this is The Kids We Were, by Gagex. Football Manager 2016 is still a great game for every football fan. It brings some interesting additions, but at the same time there are some issues that Sports Interactive should finally tackle really hard.

Trackmania Turbo is a great arcade experience and provides many hours of fun, both in single and multi-player.

Fun, short and crazy hard but not frustrating. VVVVVV is just a nice, very well design piece of indie game.

Monster Hunter Freedom Unite is a huge game, with hundreds of weapons, armors, items and monsters to hunt. It delivers some of the best graphics ever seen on a PSP (the textures in particular), and the multiplayer mode is a blast. Definitely the best Monster Hunter so far.

The Republic adds some good content to Crusader Kings II, focusing on trading and internal plots. It's definitely worth its price.

Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore is still the colorful, bizarre and satisfying RPG we already played on Wii U.

Haste: Broken Worlds is a fast paced, frantic and colorful running game from which the Sonic Team has a lot to learn from.

Ninja Gaiden 2 Black brings back the second, iconic installment of the Team Ninja-branded with redesigned graphics in Unreal Engine 5 that nonetheless were simply applied to the Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 layout, retaining the same animations and an approach to geometry that obviously does not match today's standards. Camera quirks aside, however, the gameplay remains surprisingly solid, frantic and challenging just as we remembered it.

Super Mega Baseball 2 is light enough to entertain anyone and deep enough to be considered a great baseball simulation.

Simply put, Downwell is a masterpiece and everyone that regards himself as a true gamer should buy it immediately.

It's perhaps the best entry in the series: with the usual high quality script and characters and completely overhauled visuals and presentation, Dual Destinies will engage and will be loved both by fans and new players.

If games are still in their infancy, after playing Lone Survivor we bet they'll have a bright future in their adulthood.

WWE 2K24 pays homage to forty years of WrestleMania with a Showcase mode that nostalgics will not fail to appreciate, features an extraordinarily large roster with over two hundred wrestlers and reiterates the relevance of My Rise with two new, exciting stories that they further enrich an already rather large structure including free performances, Universe, My Faction, My GM, the online sector and the Creation Suite. The experience proves to be very pleasant, even if it still carries some unresolved problems with the interactions, the balance and the technical quality of an increasingly impressive production, but which perhaps should pay more attention to the details.

Alien isolation is simply the best title on the Alien saga, a tribute to the first, unforgettable film by Ridley Scott, and a wonderful survival horror game that will captivate you thanks to the incredible emotions and moods that can give. Long-lived, funny, scary and full of quotations, it is a mandatory purchase for fans.

The three games included in this collection are, still today, three stunning gems, among the best of the best of the visual novel genre. However, the absence of any bonus material, the price which is the exact double of the iOS version, and the disappearance of European localizations, steal some value from the package.

Apart from a few frame rate issues Black Ops 2 is a perfect port of the "old gen consoles", but above all it's a great way to show that GamePad fits perfectly with the FPS genre.

Knight's Rush is one of the best hack'n slash games on the App Store, with some impressive graphics and a simply but addictive gameplay.

Beast Quest is a simple and stripped-down RPG made for mobile platform, but it's also surprisingly fun and engaging.

Unruly Heroes fits well in the new wave of artistic 2D platform games led by Rayman and shines among them with a peculiar charme. It structure isn't quite well developed as its graphics, but it is undoubtedly a pleasure to play and watch.

Hunt: Showdown delivers a deep, hardcore PvPvE shooter experience. In terms of atmosphere, lore and sound design the game really stands out, but the console version has to deal with some issues.

Fight'N Rage is a heartfelt tribute to the classic side-scrolling beat'em-up games, but at the same time a title that tries to reinterpret those mechanics and structures in order to give us something more than an experience that runs out in an afternoon.

Dragon Quest Treasures is an OK game which runs far better on PC than Switch.

Cut the Rope 2 brings something new to the table, introducing several characters and changing some of the rules of the game.

With no new F-Zero or Wipeout out there, Fast Racing Neo is a totally recommendable choice for futuristic racing game fans. Given the very high difficulty level, only real hardcore gamers must apply.

Faeria is an interesting fusion between a board game and a trade card game.

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii could be a sensational misstep for SEGA's series or yet another great success following its unexpected RPG-style revolution. On one hand, the pirate theme is always very popular, Majima's character seems perfect for the role, and there's no doubt that the many activities the game offers - especially the side ones - could win over the audience. However, in terms of story, characters, and atmosphere, we are truly far from the standards that Ryu Ga Gotoku has accustomed us to.

With Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12, the EA Sports series returns to the App Store with improved graphics, new modes and the same gameplay that made the previous episode so enjoyable for all the golf enthusiasts out there. What a pity there's no online multiplayer.

Tiny Troopers is a excellent revision of Cannon Fodder's mechanics, successfully adapted to the touchscreen interface. Unfortunately, it's also a simplicistic experience that doesn't allow any tactic approach.

Icycle: On Thin Ice is an exercise of style, a stunning mix of design and direction that will surprise you in each and every level.

Probably the first title for VR that a player can enjoy from start to finish. 

F1 23 represents the natural evolution of an already well-established series, strongly linked to the good things done in the past, but without neglecting modern trends, pursued even by Formula 1 itself.

When it comes to gameplay, aside from the gunplay, this fourth game is probably the best Borderlands yet. That said, it clearly needs to find the right balance on the narrative side, along with some fresh tricks to give more personality to the huge supporting cast — who, as of now, feel more like a nuisance than an asset. If you’re into shooting, Borderlands 4 is a safe bet, but when it comes to everything outside of gunplay, Gearbox’s game still lags behind.

If you love the genre this is a must buy. Don't miss it, even if there are no support for mods neither all the previews DLC's.

Reigns: Her Majesty is a brilliant product that fits just perfectly on mobile devices and improves the first chapter in almost every aspect.

Everspace 2 works very well too. Despite all the changes compared to the first chapter, or perhaps precisely because of them, it manages to present itself as a space epic on the one hand, and as an engaging shooter with spaceships on the other.

There's something serious in its take on stealth games, so Untitled Goose Game will make you laugh but also think with its puzzles, really sinking you inside the skin of an evil goose and wreaking havoc inside a peaceful village.

Yakuza Kiwami is a terrific remake with a great story, characters and gameplay, and it runs great on Xbox One.
