    Despite being an Among Us naysayer who mostly wrote off the original as a bit childish, I’ve been transformed into a diehard Crewmate by Among Us VR, a must-play virtual reality experience that vastly improves upon the original in every way. [Meta Quest 2]

    Among Us VR is a great execution of an extremely popular game - and genre - of recent years. It’s a perfect fit for the medium, and at a refreshingly low price too. As with the base Among Us however, it’s simple stuff - almost a proof-of-concept that this kind of game works in its respective medium - and it may be up to other VR developers to really build on this finger-pointing party game premise to take it to bold new places.

    Virtual reality is not new to the world of Among Us, but this official VR version still makes a good impression, even if at the moment it is a bit stingy with contents.

    If you enjoyed the original Among Us, then you'll absolutely love how the VR port captures its spirit while improving on the mechanics. Thanks to proximity chat and motion-control tasks, The Skeld feels like a real ship crewed by real people, which makes the Imposters' betrayal that much more personal. It's too bad the game only launches with one map, but we're hopeful that the other maps will come to the game later.

    Among Us VR is a strong remake of Innersloth’s social deduction hit. While Schell Games’ take could do with extra content, it makes up for this with polished gameplay.

    Among Us VR is a well-crafted game that is fun in company and, at times, capable of generating tension. The underlying experience remains almost the same as the title for smartphones, tablets, consoles and PCs, but it has mini-games designed specifically for virtual reality, trivial but effective. Experiencing the investigations in space with a helmet constitutes an encounter with the countless memes seen from 2020 to today, and perhaps this is the factor that will initially drive the VR version of the game, which in all probability will continue to ensnare only the community of aficionados.
