Battlefield 2 should be the benchmark for any future first person war shooter on the Xbox.

I thoroughly enjoyed playing this game and although its nature won't appeal to the John Rambo type players, it will appeal to the players that love sniping.

The sheer novelty factor of the game wears quite thin very quickly as the game is basically the same throughout bar some minor deviances here and there.

A solid game that although is simple remains good yet dirty fun at the same time.

A linear yet fun experience and whilst it will not win awards for being complex in any way, and this includes the simple story; it does get the job done in an old school way.

LA Rush isn't a bad game per se because at times it's quite fun. The problem is that there are other racers on the market that do the same thing but are much less frustrating.

SSX On Tour is not for the feint hearted as there are plenty of challenges that range from very easy to extremely tough.

If you were disappointed by the multiplayer options of the original game you should be more than satisfied with the bolstered options on offer in Earned in Blood.

I found that some of the controls were also rather horrid especially the first person aiming with some weapons.

The controls are fluid and the combat easy to get into which means players can jump right in and focus on completing the objectives without having to worry about fiddly controls.

Far Cry offers an extensive single player that begs to be played more than once despite not having a difficulty select from the offset. The game is as tough or as easy as you make it depending on how you decide to play.

The single player is reasonable length and with some replay options such as playing as a good or dark character means that you will get to experience a slightly different game depending on your actions.

This is truly a benchmark game for all future comic adaptations. The slick comic style is superb with a fantastic storyline making this game a must-buy/rent for any Spiderman fans.

On paper this should have been one of the best, but it has fallen well short of the mark and I can only recommend this game as a hire title because that is all the time you will need to finish the game and realise how repetitive it is.

The biggest change is the inclusion of the custom mode and as mentioned earlier I think this adds a great deal to the game.

This psychological thriller will keep players hooked from start to finish as it has that "I must find out what happens next" feel to it.

Minor (and understandable) technical complaints aside, this is a gem of an Xbox game.

The enjoyment of driving at breakneck speeds and smashing cars into walls is nothing short of pure bliss.

If you are looking for an arcade slash game that has the option to use minor elements of strategy then I suggest getting this game; although in honesty there isn't much difference in this game compared to Samurai Warriors.

The graphics seem to be a step backwards in the franchise but as I have said before, the PEC mode is the saving grace of this game.

A great racing title that offers a different playing experience compared to the four wheeled variety which most gamers are probably used to.

The driving and shooting is something different yet the repetitive nature of the game, lack of true variety or tactics with the weapons means that the game soon becomes old.

An interesting and unusual concept that surprisingly works, within the confines of itself. The major problem I have with the title is its size and general lack of ambition. Basically you go from one place to another and repeat which does become boring after extended play.

A must for true Hulk fans as it captures the spirit of this green beast to perfection, BUT the game play as mentioned before it repetitive and short lived if you are just going to play the main missions.

The RPG free roaming nature of the game is great and actually reminded me a little of the Tobal games from times past.

No nonsense, to the point, no "brainer" gaming that not only looks good but works well.

Smooth graphics, smooth control, great sound and plenty of modes means that Summit Strike is well worth the price of entry for all you serious and perhaps non serious military gamers.

As it stands you have a hit and miss campaign which yes, is very Hollywood and fairly engaging but on the other hand can be rather lacklustre at times.

The characters are wacky and funny, the game play smooth (although doing specials seemed fiddly) and really there isn't much to complain about.

Featuring 45 tracks in one of 16 fully upgradeable cars FlatOut offers a great fun racer combined with the car tuning although this is not as extensive as say "Forza Motorsport."

The game does feel like a collection of mini games at times and can get a little repetitive as you repeat tasks over and over. However at the end of the day there is a lot of fun to be had here as you go about your pirating career.

Not so fantastic and a game that I would say is disappointing considering the possibilities of the characters.

Graphically superb with a great story and very funny to play.

I guess it boils down to how fun you think it is to toss cows at unsuspecting people!

The game felt a little like a cheaper more linear version of splinter cell with none of the style and with some hand to hand combat and plat forming moments thrown in for good measure.

Yes the action is thick and fast and very cinematic yet the lack of subtlety and arcade elements really stop this game from being a true MOH game in my opinion.

I like San Andreas as it offers so much to mess around with on an unprecedented level.

With plenty of spooky atmosphere and a gripping tale Still Life is an intriguing prospect although I can really only suggest a rental at best.

If you are not grabbed in the first hour or so of play then maybe it's not for you.

The first ever true driving simulation to arrive on the Xbox console has achieved the highest standards in terms of graphics, sound, realism and playability.

Sadly the graphics are what lets the game down and to non fans will appear to be a basic no frills run of the mill game.

An interesting, atmospheric, engaging and most importantly fun to play shooter despite being a little mindless at times.

Below average and somewhat unpolished when compared to other games in the genre.

Raze's Hell is a fun but short-lived experience. While its story mode can be entertaining at times, it soon becomes repetitive as it's all shooting and killing.

The puzzle element is intriguing the way it has been implemented into the game and the general all out wackiness of the characters and story surely sets it apart from its peers.

I think despite the shortcomings with this title it does a good job of providing some entertainment and fun and at the end of the day this is what counts.

With all of the added single player goodness of a Story Mode, Tournaments, Challenges, the new/classic game types, and the inclusion of Xbox Live play (which is a rule for Unreal) Unreal Championship 2 has the highest replay value of any 2005 release yet, and every minute, online or off, is just damn fun.

It's a game that will reward those that spend the time with it properly rather than rush through.

The game has none of the style or effectiveness of other similar games and as I've said several times in this review, the whole thing smells of generic.

A welcome arcade street racing title with enough bits and pieces to mess around with to keep the pimp in us all quite happy.

Very basic, very average and a little fun in small doses.

With none of the finesse displayed in the "Silent Hill" games and lacking in general atmosphere from the "Resident Evils" of this world, Obscure is a rental at best which is a shame as the developers could have been a little more imaginative and put some more meat into the game.

I think the worst flaw as far as the AI is concerned was the fact that the reaction time of your unit at times was extremely sluggish.

The animation and quirkiness of the characters is superb and brings a whole new dimension seeing them in Lego form.

Whilst the game play isn't as complex as other first person shooters as it's simply a case of kill or be killed in the mindless sense (but would you have it any other way), the fact remains that Doom 3 is an engaging, scary and highly entertaining title.

I am truly amazed at how this game can interest nearly all types of gamers with the ability to play Chaos Theory either by stealth or action.

A poor attempt to be controversial from the magazine adverts featuring busty women to the drug taking/selling in the game.

However the length of the game is increased by the furiously frustrating trial and error game play and super accurate guards on occasion.

If you are looking for a wide variety of single and multiplayer game types then I would say that this game is well worth a look.

An unusually un-hyped game, which is surprising because although being a little strange and different from the norm is actually a fun and well polished title.

A short game and might make some players feel sea sick. The lack of a map does prolong the experience for perhaps the wrong reasons and the camera angles take a little getting used to.

A "thinking mans" shooter.

The graphics and audio are excellent with a superb interface for you to control your squad but the main game is fairly short.

This is the best boxing game on any system ever. It is not perfect and has not got the options and scenarios of the "Tiger Woods" series has for golfing, but as a stand-alone game it is very good.

There are huge problems with the consistency of the mission difficulty, the sound that is awful, the flawed story; but after all that Scrapland has just enough going for it to make it enjoyable to play through, although the experience might be slightly frustrating.

I found Snowblind to be an engaging and highly entertaining title, and as a fan of "Deus Ex" was pleasantly surprised at how they incorporated the features into this simplified spin off version of the game.

If you are looking for a slice of fighting game history then you won't find a better package than this one.

The Xbox is not bereft of good racing games, and this one is just plain bad.

A very average game and one that is for fans of Keanu, the movie or those who are simply bored and looking for a title to rent.

There is only one word to describe this game – beautiful.

Much like the real Playboy magazine in that it is simply more than a cheap gimmick of pert breasts and tight peachy buttocks.

The interrogations are unique but do tend to repeat themselves frequently.

Whilst some elements could be considered repetitive the pacing of the game is such that it's great to just pick up and play for while.

MechAssault 2 sounds pretty damn good as far as simulating a giant robot fight.

The game is very fast and fun.

I suspect that you would be better off renting the game if you are unsure, as the evidence suggests that you might be a little disappointed with the game once you put your finger prints on it.

Not as good as the original as far as locations and story is concerned but better in other areas such as character development and combat.

If you like puzzle adventures and want a break from the usual hack and slash or shoot "em ups, than this game is a must.

Anyone expecting a game similar to the N64 version will be greatly disappointed because at the end of the day Rogue Agent is simply a mindless run and gun fest against reasonably smart AI.

Whilst the missions are incredibly fun and engaging, the new watered down approach adopted by the developers seems to have hurt the game in my opinion, yes I prefer the original set up a lot more.

Perhaps not as groundbreaking as we were led to believe or even hoped for prior to release but an immense and masterful game all the same, as they say if it's not broken don't fix it!

Absolutely brilliant.

However the linear nature of the terrain, lack of depth for the characters and the story means that it doesn't quite get top marks. A solid and entertaining title that simply lacks overall ambition.

Great gameplay for a nostalgic rainy day, however the amount of extras and longetivity is missing.

The overall speed of the game might just annoy some people but I feel those with more patience will definitely be rewarded.

Pure fan service for Xbox owners and Live users who may wish to have all DOA games on their chosen system.

So OutRun2, a one trick pony it most certainly is, but what a thoroughbred of a pony!

A solid title and one that is perhaps better to play with mates or over Xbox Live if you are connected to the service.

With its gorgeous visuals, haunting musical score, addictive game play, and a plethora of unlockables, Otogi 2: Immortal Warriors is an amazing game.

This is a strictly average game in a market saturated with this kind of fare.

The thing is, these niggles and annoyances really add up throughout the game, making the last few levels a chore to play through.

A refreshing take on a tired formula of hack and slash game play. With its mixture of real time combat, strategy and management, KUF has enough to keep most armchair tacticians entertained for quite sometime.

A pretty decent action game, featuring a sassy heroine, cool moves and powers make the action very hot indeed. The gore is suitably over the top but remains fun all the same.

This is not a bad game, but even if judged for kids it is average.

This years FIFA has been improved so much over last years version that you will be instantly impressed.

If I were to make any major complaints then it would have to be the overall simplicity level of the game and the horrendous loading that occurs after every activity.
