The result of all this is a singularly confusing experience. There are moments when Death in the Nile does shine, even in its new bits. It makes a mystery out of glass being added to a caviar verrine, for example, and it requires actual detective gameplay. But then it goes through a lengthy section where we stumble aimlessly across the rooftops of Cairo, looking for one interactable door. It’s bits like these that make Death in the Nile feel bloated. A classic Poirot tale that keeps getting interrupted by a considerably less interesting one.

Somber Echoes succeeds, for the most part, in crafting a unique tale of sci fi horror and mythology. A captivating story, a great movement system and solid combat will satisfy fans of the Metroidvania genre and keep them coming back for more with multiple endings to unlock. It’s a shame though that middling story presentation and some areas being too dark will result in frustrations for players along the way. I can really admire and respect the developers for taking a leap of faith with this game. More games need to take narrative swings like this!

Overall, Alien: Rogue Incursion Evolved Edition felt to be a strong attempt, and in many aspects, succeeds well in moving from VR to non-VR. If you’re coming into it without having played the VR version, it ought to feel like a solid Alien first-person shooter / horror experience: plenty of atmosphere, dread, decent combat, improved visuals, and tighter controls. The reworked AI and changes to control and camera help make the game more accessible and perhaps more “fun” in a conventional flat screen sense without the necessity of a VR setup.

LEGO Party is a fun-filled mini-game experience that is better than Mario Party! It is childish, amusing, easy to understand and brilliantly addictive. This is the perfect title to waste some time with friends and strangers online.

Puzzle Quest: Immortal Edition is a fun turn-based RPG game. Its gameplay, while simple is a lot fun, challenging and addicting. Very approachable to any type of player, especially if this is your first time playing this type of game. The plot is simple but ends up not mattering. Facing the same enemies on the road to certain areas can be repetitive. Party members bring their own positives and recruitment is important. Puzzle Quest: Immortal Edition is a must-play for any RPG fans out there.

Fruitbus is a calm, fun, and touching life sim. The plot is wholesome and I loved the protagonists. Furthermore, the world is reasonably large and hunting down every ingredient was enjoyable. Though the controls were a little clumsy, it is a good addition to the genre.

If you grew up in the PS1 era, this game will feel like coming home. The grind, the repetition, the slightly janky presentation, they’re all part of the package, for better or worse. And while those elements may frustrate newcomers, for me it only amplified the nostalgia. It really does feel like a lost classic dusted off and somehow still works. At its asking price, you’ll want to consider how much patience you have for repetition and how much value you place on nostalgia. But for players like me, who remember sneaking in rally sessions on my dad’s PlayStation, Rally Arcade Classics is more an addicting warm feeling.

This game, priced at $60, is not even close to an indie game in terms of visuals, story, gameplay, or even story length. The only positive thing about the game is its boss fights, but it still costs $60, while maybe $10 would be a better price. I do not recommend this game at all, especially at its current price.

Playing through this game, I am reminded of a similar game that came out last year. That being TCG Card Shop Simulator. The concept of a store management game isn’t new, but both games share that similarity and that you sell items of a specific hobby. While the gameplay loop was enjoyable, it sort of wears at a certain point. Sure, I’m making a lot of progress in improving my store, but it feels like a lot of the same for each in-game day. There doesn’t seem to be any unique events or changes throughout the days. Because of this, the game loses steam and ends up being very repetitive. As of writing this, the game is still receiving updates, so there may end up being improvements to the game.

Chronicles of the Wolf is a damn good time and it’s exactly what you’d expect. I’ve repeated that phrase a few times now, but only because it’s so objectively true. Like tribute bands and movie tropes, we need a touch of the old school to remind us how far we’ve come and how much fun we’ve had along the way. If you know what you’re doing, you can breeze through in 5 hours, but it’s just difficult enough to provide a decent length on a first play through, owing to some pretty tricky boss fights that just about avoid being annoying.

I do wish that there was a bit more to this game, perhaps some more unlockable levels. It was almost too short. Otherwise, the basic nature of Toree Saturn gives off a specific charm. It is easily digestible, fun to play, cheap, and satisfying all the while. This title is definitely one of the stronger entries in Siactro’s Toree series!

Frostpunk 2 is a brilliant city-builder game. It is difficult but very rewarding to those who stick with it and learn from their mistakes. I am a newcomer to the series and I love it. While I struggled at times (took me 3 attempts to pass the prologue) I persevered and kept coming back. There is a steep learning curve here but it is worth getting through it. Veterans of these games will love the survival aspect of the game and building massive cities and challenging themselves in the Utopia Builder. Lots of freedom of choice present and you can play whatever way you want. Dictator or fair leader? Good or evil? Maybe in the middle? Up to you. Lots of replay value. An excellent game that is worth checking out for PS5 players.

Discounty is a fun and relaxing title that falls in the life-sim genre. Though many of the core mechanics are familiar, the balance isn't quite right. Unfortunately, once you expand your shop, there are limited reasons to return.

Sips and Sonnets was unlike any visual novel I've ever played. It was a simple story full of strong emotions and feelings we could all relate to at some point in our lives. That along with interesting and relatable characters, nice music and lovely artwork, made for a memorable and heartwarming experience.

Borderlands 4 isn’t just a return to form, it feels like the natural evolution of the series. A solid story, best-in-class side quests, rewarding loot, and some of the most creative Vault Hunter designs yet make this entry stand tall. It manages to respect the chaotic fun that defined the earlier games while laying down a stronger, more focused foundation for the future. For long time fans like me, this is the Borderlands we’ve been waiting for since 2.

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is your quintessential kart racing game with great content and a unique and interesting gimmick in the form of the CrossWorlds. What appears to be a very simple kart racing game has far more depth and difficulty than meets the eye, with a plethora of modes, tracks, racers and upgrades. Granted, there are some minor gripes with the tracks sometimes feeling overwhelming, and some punishingly unfair moments. Still, if you are looking for a classic kart racing game with fun mechanics and great online and local co-op gameplay, then this is for you! Sonic is back and with a bang!

Simply put, Indiana Jones And The Great Circle: The Order Of Giants continues the original game’s perfection with another brilliant story of mystery, action and comedic moments along the way. New and fantastic thought provoking puzzles, coupled with perfect combat and platforming, make this additional story content a must play. I just wish it wasn’t as short as it ended up being. Indiana Jones has never been this good. Bethesda and Machine Games, I eagerly await/pray for a sequel to this magnificent game! Play it!

God of Weapons is a bipolar experience. On one end, you have a fantastic inventory management system that asks you to make tough decisions while building out your character’s kit. On the other, you have lackluster gameplay that’s only exciting if you enjoy watching damage numbers grow larger. These ideas fail to coalesce into a singular vision, ultimately making the project feel like a missed opportunity.

Overall, Goosebumps Terror in Little Creek was pretty lackluster. Looking at the devs and publishers of the game, it kind of checks out that this game turned out this way. The developers PHL Collective and the publisher GameMill Entertainment are known for putting out low quality licensed kids games. Not to mention the pricing for Goosebumps, in my opinion, is not worth $40 USD for how short and barebones the experience was. On top of that, the game also has a $15 USD DLC pack that seems to only provide cosmetics, a 3D model viewer, and a concept art viewer. I can only recommend getting this game on a heavily discounted sale if you’re interested. Otherwise, I wouldn’t recommend this game, even if you wanted to buy it for your kids.

Welcome To Basingstoke is a fun, little roguelike action zombie game. The campaign is short but each level offers plenty of replayability and ways to approach. Stealth is great in the game but so is the combat option. Aside from the auto-aim system which can throw you off and lead to a frustrating death, everything is near perfect. Zombies able to kill with one hit leads to a lot of intense, scary moments so the best need to use all their skills to survive. Horde mode is a welcome addition also, especially for those who want to shoot zombies and break records.

Bratz Rhythm and Style is perfect for younger children. However, adults will hate the simple action, repetitive one-liners, and puddle deep gameplay. This isn't aimed towards adults, so those concerns matter not! Kids will adore the vibrant graphics, straightforward mini-games, and controlling their favourite character!

Nine Lives to Defend was a surprisingly fun and addictive experience, I enjoyed it so much that even after I played for a good amount of hours to be able to write a detailed review, I went back to it enjoying it as much as I previously did. The delicate hand-drawn art style, wacky abilities, power- ups and interesting enemies was what made Nine Lives to Defend a fun cozy game, even if it did involve exterminating critters.

Space Adventure Cobra - The Awakening is perfect if you love the anime series. Furthermore, it is quirky, niche, and full of witty one-liners. However, if you do not like the 80s cartoon, the action, story, and blend of retro cutscenes will not resonate.
