South of the Circle is a fantastic story-rich game. Its core mechanics are touching, emotive, and laced with replay value. You'll admire the developers eye for detail and the wonderfully melancholy plot that unfolds.

Super Woden GP is a wonderful indie racing title. What's more, it captures the brilliance of 90s arcade games. I adored the aesthetics and the simple yet addictive gameplay.

Many titles try but fail to incorporate the brilliance of old-school gaming. Infernax, on the other hand, is a modern classic! Thanks to its moreish gameplay, gory action, and pixel art style, you’ll be hooked from the off. You’ll love the moral dilemmas and the never-ending array of undead foes.

As Far as the Eye is a fantastic nomadic base-building title with unusual mechanics. What's more, its tough learning curve is unfortunately off putting. However, if you can wade through the initial pain, you'll enjoy a strange and fascinating affair.

Homebody is a cruel and gruesome homage to 80s slasher movies. With a creepy antagonist and plenty of cliched characters, this is a blast from the past. Furthermore, the excellent Groundhog Day mechanics and testing puzzles will keep you going. Sadly, though, the controls and fixed camera perspective were not that impressive.

I was drawn into this Nordic world from the off. Spirit of the North 2 is a phenomenal game that reinvigorates your childish imagination. Every juicy layer of lore and ever-changing environment was spectacular to witness. Additionally, the cutscenes between the fox and the freed guardians touch your soul.

Hidden Through Time 2 is a fun-filled 2D hidden object game. Furthermore, it is great for youngsters and adults alike. Can you explore each of the worlds and find every object? Manipulate night and day and discover every secret.

Simply put, NeverAwake is a smooth, responsive, and entertaining shoot ‘em up. The gameplay is both fast-paced and increasingly challenging, offering a lot of replayability. Artistically, the unique blend of realism and abstract imagery perfectly illustrates the nightmarish aesthetic. Likewise, the sound design and original OST accompany the games conceptual thematic phenomenally well. Most of all though, the emotionally charged narrative is portrayed in such a way that almost anyone can relate to it. I sincerely hope that NeverAwake gets the attention it deserves. And at £15, I cannot recommend this game enough.

No More Heroes III is a semi-open-world title that is confusing as hell. With many side quests, loads of missions, and badass swordplay, this is a colourful and repetitive arcade fighting experience. Sadly, its strange ways won't be for everyone, but I enjoyed the madness nevertheless.

The Fortress offers a dark fantasy dungeon crawler that leans heavily into classic design sensibilities while embracing modern systems like procedural generation and choice-driven progression. Each run feels unique, with shifting layouts, unexpected encounters, and branching decisions that shape your story. Players must carefully weigh every action. From combat choices to alliances, survival is never guaranteed in this unforgiving, gothic world.

Fashionably late to the party, Kamiwaza: The Way of the Thief is a beautiful outlier, and timeless classic that serves as a great lesson on how to create addictive action gameplay in an excellently adaptive and immersive world, despite its small size. Although it is a barebones re-release, which does a disservice to those experiencing it for the first time, I cannot recommend this game enough – the period, the gameplay – it’s brilliant fun that transcends any negatives and simply has to be seen to be believed.

It’s offering a quiet escape, one road at a time. If you’re willing to meet it at its pace, Cozy Caravan delivers a warm, thoughtful experience that sticks with you long after you’ve parked your caravan for the night.

Dead Pets is a fantastic combination of minigames, graphic novels and life simulation. For a very affordable price you can experience all the struggles of life in a stylised, overflowing with humour and wacky characters game. If anything about this game intrigues you, rest assured everything surrounding it will pull you in even more.

Platforming games can be hit or miss, especially since so many of them have been made. To make a good one, you need style, character, and a world ripe for exploring. Demon Turf Neon Splash nails it, delivering a fun, challenging, and rewarding game, all for an insanely low price!

A world that's complex and satisfying to shape. Sengoku Dynasty is an enjoyable and absorbing experience, despite being very rough around the edges.

Nova Lands is an adorable base builder with a hint of RPG action. Can you open every island and automate your base? Explore every piece of land and rub shoulders with some friendly aliens. I adored it, but clumsy controls and limited replay value hold it back.

Paper Ghost Stories: Third Eye Open is a great horror tale combining the story of a child’s life with her ability to interact with the dead. This unique combination creates an emotional, yet eerie story. Stunning visuals that are unlike any other game make this adventure worth your time. It’s certainly not for everyone with its lack of true gameplay and narrative approach, but there’s a great tale to be discovered if you can see past this.

Dark Deity 2 is a great addition to the franchise. Although it broke me repeatedly, I love the characters, the story, and the old-school ways. It is tough, but it has a gentle learning curve and it is pretty fair.

Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is undoubtedly a worthy addition to the Nintendo Switch library and a prime example of a remake done right. It appeals to fans of all ages and reminds players of Disney's timeless magic.
