I love Zelda and I really wanted to love this entry. If you’re looking for an open world sandbox with outstanding physics and mechanics, this is the game for you. Its graphics, controls, sound design and music are absolutely stunning. And despite my grievances, I still put in over 150 hours, even on an adult’s schedule. But I can perhaps see now why I dropped this game shortly after launch, it’s a less cohesive experience than Breath of the Wild, exemplifying not only its best qualities but also some of its weakest. Perhaps open world Zelda has reached its natural peak; will the next entry try to somehow top it, or will it return to the old formula that I seem to be hung up with nostalgia for? Time will tell.

The story of the game is a mediocre story, the gameplay is very enjoyable and attractive, in terms of visuals, it is equal to Cross Gen 2023 games and has a stunning visual, the main boss fights are very similar to each other. The sound design of the game is wonderful, the enemies have a good variety and only one new type of enemy has been added to the remake compared to the original version.

While Metaphor does not soar to the highs that Persona 5 did, this game is a truly exceptional RPG. Its turn-based combat is a lot of fun to engage with, the dungeons are massive and a ton of fun to explore. The characters have the same emotional depth that Studio Zero is known for, and its grandiose story will leave you on the edge of your seat. Resident Evil 4 (2023) is a phenomenal remake of a fantastic game. With a twist on the excellent plot and some incredible new mechanics, this is great for newcomers and veterans alike. Spider-Man 2 is what we want from a sequel, a much better story building on the foundations that the previous versions built, improving the gameplay in every possible way while the previous games are already among the best in terms of gameplay, using all the PS5’s powers and turning the game into a completely next-gen game, next-gen visuals, extraordinary and non-repetitive level design, deep characterization at the disposal of the story, use of dualsense’s features, much more entertaining boss fights, much better cutscenes and much better animations.

In fact, OPUS: Echo of Starsong holds a very rare accolade of being one of the very few games that have brought me to tears by the end—in a completely good way of course. In conclusion, Like a Dragon is much more than just an RPG. It is a story with themes that go far beyond fighting, with memorable characters and epic scenes for all fans of the franchise. The turn-based gameplay is practically flawless, as it manages to bring elements of strategy and positioning without making the experience to demanding. Yes, the beginning can be slow, but what is “on the other side of the curtain” is an experience that deserves everyone’s attention, from casual gamers to the most demanding. Unicorn Overlord is a cleverly designed Tactics RPG whose strategic systems will hook its player early on. The openness of the map warrants a quest that is full of objectives that are all self-fulfilling and purposeful to complete. It does a fantastic job at teaching its tactics mechanics and excels at allowing its players to find their way to strategize against the countless enemy types to encounter. Unicorn Overlord’s captivating gameplay loop will trap its players into wanting to do everything they can to optimize their units. The narrative is not as interesting as its name ensues, but Vanillaware has proved that the name should be remembered as one of the strongest Tactics RPG to stand on its own. Overall, the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection is fantastic value for money. Both titles play and run exceptionally well, offering an immersive and engaging gameplay experience. The environments and character models are unbelievably lifelike, and the OST features a mature take on the Uncharted sound. Narratively, A Thief’s End is arguable the strongest in the series, especially if you’re already familiar with Nate’s story. In the end, Monster Train 2 is a ride that promises hellfire and havoc but mostly delivers a slot machine in disguise. Beneath the bold aesthetics, catchy animations, and endless streams of demonic jargon lies a game that seems more interested in flipping coins than rewarding planning or skill. Sure, there are moments when the cards line up, your units hold their ground, and the monster library gets a new dusty entry. Strategy might give you the illusion of control, but don’t be fooled, this train doesn’t run on tactics, it runs on dice rolls. Maybe that’s enough. Maybe the spectacle, the lore, and the familiar mechanics still hold some spark. But for newcomers like me, Monster Train 2 isn’t a calculated journey through the underworld.

OPUS: Prism Peak is a narrative adventure game that takes place in a spirit realm known as the Dusklands. Developed by SIGONO INC. and published by SHUEISHA GAMES, Prism Peak is the fourth game as part of the OPUS series, though playing the previous three does not seem required. In OPUS: Prism Peak, players play as Eugene, a 40 year old ex-photojournalist whose had a rough time in life. Along with a unnamed kid—Ren—who is fading and smells of Shade, the two must make their way through the spirit realm to the top of a mountain. Along the way, they'll interact and help a cast of different spirits, and search for a person known as the Seer. Through an emotional and impactful narrative, many puzzles to solve in Firebowls and the field journal, and lots of photography, OPUS: Prism Peak is easily a highly recommendable game. I found only a small handful of 'downsides' and these are really just personal preferences that keep it from a perfect 10 out of 10 score. My review probably doesn't do the game justice, but please trust me when I say that its a pretty good game!

Overall, Silent Hill f is one of the more memorable horror games of late. The presentation; the visuals, the sound, the atmosphere is exceptional. I absolutely loved the theme and how it’s delivered through every layer of the game. The sense of dread, the uncanny familiarity of the town, the way memories twist. It’s horror that stays with you.

Returnal is an interesting game and for those who want a roguelike that keeps the story hidden behind a challenging gameplay loop, this is a wonderful place to start. Astropos is full of mystery and danger but with enough runs, any player has the ability to master the tight combat offered up here.

FF7R is a fantastic reimaging of the iconic title. Refusing to classify itself as a nostalgia act, it expands upon the original narrative in new and exciting ways. The combat system has a seamless fluidity to it, allowing for engaging and entertaining gameplay sequences. Artistically, FF7R retains the level of quality players have come to expect from Square Enix, but it does falter ever so slightly in some environments. The updated rendition of the classic OST is outstanding from start to finish, with the sound design team matching it in every regard.

Mullet Madjack is a tough but enjoyable FPS. Time is not on your side and killing every robot is the only way to survive. The action is cruel, uncomfortable, but brilliantly addictive. It is unusual and a break from the norm. However, this is one title that I absolutely adore!

This game is shockingly cheap given what you’re getting. To me, this is the same as the bargain you get with Cuphead or Hollow Knight. Especially considering that this game was rolled out day one on PS Plus Extra (Sony’s comparatively anemic answer to game pass). There is no reason that any fan of puzzle games should skip this. I’ll go door to door if I have to.

Avatar Frontiers of Pandora - From the Ashes is a fantastic addition to an already impressive game. The story is dark and captivating. Furthermore, the inclusion of a third-person perspective was welcome. If you love the base game, you must play this.

From start to finish, this game really has taken me through some amazing missions, entertaining video content, and action-packed gameplay with levels of massive and destructive villains. For the beautiful art which makes up the graphics, well let’s just say there is plenty to gawk at! Everything that Mario represents is shown in this game, with the addition of those humorous Rabbids. Plus, the ability to build a team of unlikely characters really makes for some entertaining storylines and some marvelous defeats! Lastly, even if there have been many Rabbid games in the past, I felt this game might have just topped them. It has exceeded my expectations and has me curious to see what the future beholds with the Rabbids. So I fully stand beside this game and recommend it for a worthwhile, new experience worth playing.

Astrea: Six Sided Oracles swaps out cards for dice, which turns out to be a stroke of brilliance. It's an enjoyable and thoughtful roguelike, although the world does feel a little cold at times. Still, it made me seriously think about my deck, which is almost unique, and the core gameplay loop is enjoyable enough to keep people playing for many hours.

Overall, the Super Bomberman Collection is a fantastic and faithful remastering of classic titles. These seven titles which many, including myself, have never played, are addictive and chaotic party games which are best played in couch co-op with friends. Sadly, the lack of online multiplayer leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Thankfully, great quality of life updates and brilliant additions soften the blow. Remasters can sometimes be unwarranted but this is the perfect collection to introduce to a new generation.
