Disco Elysium is a true success in its field. The writing is clever and insightful, offering a thrilling story and tasty dialogues. The different choices available through the skill system allow every player to have a completely different experience based on his skill tree, offering endless replayability. The artistic direction and music are both diversely inspired and should satisfy any fan of the genre. However be aware, if you want a action-packed gameplay, Disco Elysium is a classic Point'n Click.- MGG

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night could easily have been a basic attempt at replicating the Metroidvania genre, masked behind the nostalgia of a partially-retired series and a creator who belongs in the past. Fortunately, this is not the case. Just a year after fierce criticism, the finished game has landed in an unexpected state — perhaps even better than our highest expectations could have imagined.- MGG

Sekiro Shadows Die Twice is a milestone in the genre. It offers complex, stunning and precise sword fights and duels that its predecessors lacked, and from which its successors will have to keep up with. You no longer simply learn by repeatedly and unfairly dying, but you refine your talents as a player. You seek unique methods to overcome each boss, rather than just rolling at the right time before spamming a few hits.- MGG

Blue Byte beautifully manages the return to the roots of Anno. Many things are reminiscent of 1404, but it still adds significant value by adding inspiration from the last two episodes, and adapting it to the industrial revolution. The return of the sandbox mode is more than appreciated and ingeniously designed. Of course, the game is not perfect and there are a couple of small problems here and there, but Anno 1800 is a frank success on all aspects and can easily rise to the rank of best game of the series.- MGG

The port was well done, and there's almost nothing to complain about. It's not a big surprise, but Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is a fantastic expansion finally available on PC, which should provide you with a much better gaming experience than the console versions, as long as you have an SSD-equipped machine that's up to the task. For a game that sometimes overly encourages you to go back and forth between zones, this is no small feat. If you liked the basic MHW, you'll love Iceborne. If you're new to the game, this is a good opportunity to test the license, as it now includes a massive amount of content.- MGG

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is a fantastic expansion for the most committed players. Almost all the flaws we found in the base game have been resolved, and the content available is now quite substantial. Even experts should find themselves putting a lot of extra hours into it. However, it is not a revolution — if you didn't like MHW, then Iceborne probably won't change your mind. If "harder, better, faster, stronger" fights were what you wanted, then this expansion is for you.- MGG

The French duo Asobo Games and Focus Home Interactive confirmed all the good thoughts we have about A Plague Tale, with a truly fascinating and touching story that kept us on the edge of our seats from the beginning until the end. Despite a lifespan of about ten hours, the title remains very intense despite the absence of important moral choices and some summary game phases. A Plague Tale: Innocence remains a perfect embodiment of the past, which has succeeded in capsizing us thanks to its own history, that of the De Runes family.- MGG

Steel Division 2 succeeds in its challenge of being more complete, epic and tedious. The Army General mode is the biggest addition, and is challenging enough that it should keep strategists on their toes for a while. The available arsenal is colossal, and can be modified in depth so that players can have fun in Skirmish mode on its 28 maps — some of which are gigantic. It's a beautiful, well-finished game, with its only downsides being the poor pathing of the AI and cruel lack of a tutorial for newcomers.- MGG

Codemasters has not disappointed with F1 2019, the new features and multiple improvements making it one of the most complete driving simulations of the year. Apart from the big black mark in terms of content for the Senna/Prost section, the rest is faithful to the DNA of the F1 license, and that's good. Although the absence of Formula E is regrettable, the gameplay and driving remain intact for our greatest pleasure — there's no need to reinvent the wheel here.- MGG

If it doesn't revolutionize the VR experiences mixing exploration, combat and narration, Horizon Call of the Mountain offers one of the most beautiful executions of all the best VR games have brought in recent years. From its movements to its action phases, Firesprite's title knows how to make itself interesting: the fights are precise and demanding, the climbing phases are well done and the graphic quality is crazy for an experience on this support: what more could you ask for?- MGG

Granblue Fantasy: Relink is the A-JRPG that many gamers have been waiting for, and which will delight fans of Monster Hunter, Tales of, Kingdom Hearts or Genshin Impact with its depth of content that can keep you playing for hundreds of hours if need be. With addictive gameplay, an interesting cast of characters, a satisfying story mode and an endgame that holds you hostage for long hours, alone or with others, Cygames' game is one of the pleasant surprises of the new year. Despite its frustrating shortcomings, which we hope will soon be rectified.- MGG

If Inscryption can repel some with its pixelated graphics and its purely textual dialogues, it fully assumes its old school side. And it is right to do so since its artistic direction is clearly convincing. As for the gameplay, it is full of creativity and offers us an adventure where the rules are constantly reinvented to surprise us each time in a particularly efficient way. Another little indie gem.- MGG

Square Enix once again offers us remakes of (almost) impeccable quality with Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D. It's a chance to revisit these iconic works from 40 years ago, in a enhanced version that is much more accessible than the originals. It's beautiful, it's smooth, and it's a joy to play, even though the formula was a real challenge to modernize. Don't miss it, whether you've played the 1986-1987 originals or not.- MGG

Gears of War Reloaded is undoubtedly the best version to try out this iconic saga of its genre. And while we may regret a certain ease in the formula proposed by The Coalition to bring Epic Games' game up to date, a certain laziness even to be more blunt, it remains a very good game to discover in Game Pass. We highly recommend it... but probably not at the price it is offered outside of Game Pass: graphics filters at the price of full games, enough is enough.- MGG

The new Tales from the Borderlands, but keeps the Telltale spirit and dives into the crazy world of Borderlands with an effective, permanent, offbeat and enjoyable humor. We will certainly criticize the game's perfectible technique as well as its lack of real player involvement and challenge, but that's nothing compared to the moments of anthology it offers us. The characters not only have depth, but they are also beautifully interpreted. The game is full of funny situations, and many of its lines could become mythical. It is a real success in its genre.- MGG

With Shin Megami Tensei 5, Atlus reaches new heights thanks to a surprising and particularly neat exploration aspect, while continuing to refine its formidable formula of capturing monsters and turn-based battles. The result is an ever-renewed gameplay pleasure, despite obvious technical weaknesses and a main plot too disjointed to fully convince. Finally, it is a monster of balancing, combining an unprecedented accessibility for the series with a high but far from insurmountable challenge: a game that should suck your soul for dozens of hours if you're up to the challenge.- MGG

EA Sports is preparing its transition in the best possible way by dusting off old systems that are still well established while integrating into its simulation elements that are now essential for a game of this scale and with such a large audience...This year, FIFA 23 is a Next-Gen game with its Hypermotion technology, and we sincerely hope that it will not be changed in the next few weeks, because as it is, it is the best FIFA since the 17th.- MGG

This cute remake of the excellent Link's Awakening does exactly what we expected of it, namely it allows us to relive the Game Boy adventure many of us experienced more than a quarter of a century ago. Be careful though, this is strictly a remake. The only innovation — the Chamber Dungeon customization tool — is not really worthwhile. With its diorama-style artistic direction, it is nevertheless a very good pretext for new generations to discover this classic — even despite the many framerate drops, which are difficult to justify.- MGG

Game Builder Garage is an excellent gateway to the complex world of video game programming. The customization of the code blocks works perfectly, the increasingly complicated interactive lessons will require you to learn the function of each nodon, and the interface as a whole is a model of clarity. It's a shame, however, that Nintendo's edutainment software doesn't go further by providing more elaborate asset customization, or by pushing the limits of its work plan and settings further.- MGG

Princess Peach Showtime! is a real show designed to have fun from start to finish. By playing all the main roles, young and old will find their account without getting bored even if the Switch exclusivity suffers from some latencies, a little long loading time and not very interesting boss fights. All in all, this new Mario will convince you if you need a light, colorful and entertaining adventure to consume in a few hours. The variety of levels is a real plus since each room offers a unique decor and as many treasures to find.- MGG

Monster Hunter Rise is a successful and worthy port, its fantastic gameplay and content more than compensate for the somewhat outdated graphics on PC. It's still clean and rather pleasant to look at during the fights, and especially very fluid. Those who enjoyed Monster Hunter World shouldn't hesitate to jump in, it's an equally valid game in the license, even if it's a bit different. For the others, it's also a gateway to the license, with improvements in comfort and accessibility, as well as a slightly faster pace of play than its predecessors.- MGG

We didn't think a new 2D Mario would manage to surprise us in 2023, but it has. The new team at the plumber's bedside have outdone themselves, offering Nintendo Switch players a fun platformer that surprises from its first to its last stage, and is absolutely delightful. We can only criticize the game's lifespan and its somewhat limited challenge in the quest for 100%, but nothing that will prevent you from having an excellent time.- MGG

Not content to keep its promises to hardcore gamers, Street Fighter 6 can be a good experience for neophytes. The game does, however, make a few mistakes, some forgivable given that it's a fighting game trying out new genres, or that a balancing patch can fix, and others less so, such as the lack of dubbing in some directions (even though the dubbers are generally good). The game may find it hard to get casual gamers to invest a little more, but whether it's a question of dosing out the online mode or having a good romp, the mission is accomplished and this opus has the weapons to bring everyone together around a complete versus fighting experience.- MGG

Noting Strive was difficult, because it really depends on what you expect from the game. If you're a FGC veteran, or a beginner who plans on investing time for discovering fighting games, Strive is a masterpiece. Beautiful game with rock/metal songs, GGST will give you all the keys to become the best fighter in the world, thanks to his amazing tutorials and rollback netcode. But if you just plan on playing offline, just in the solo mode, you should avoid it, because that is not where Strive shines. And if you just want a fighting game to play with friends at home from time to time, well you can give it a shot because the characters are really cool, and you'll have a lot of fun.- MGG

Hogwarts Legacy is so extensive and ambitious that sacrifices have been made. It's not perfect in its finishing touches, but that's not a penalty: it's indeed the game that all potterheads dreamed of, but it's also a too classic RPG for those who are not familiar with the Harry Potter universe. If the gameplay is not always interesting, the scenario hides some remarkable surprises and the work done on the conception of Hogwarts and Hogsmeade is quite impressive. Visiting these two emblematic places of the saga will amaze you and will take you a long time, to add to an already colossal life span.- MGG

Far from being perfect, Dune: Awakening offers an experience that is first Survival and then largely MMO once the “endgame” is reached, which few modern games have managed to offer consistently. And while, as with all MMOs, we'll have to see how the game evolves over time to have a real opinion on it, for the moment it's more than up to the task of living up to the genres it claims to embody, despite often disappointing combat and a number of bugs as redundant as they are annoying, which won't be enough to tarnish its reputation: Dune: Awakening is a success that will undoubtedly convince many fans of the two genres it embodies.- MGG

Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle is unquestionably the best game based on the license, and we can legitimately wonder whether it will be entitled to another title of this quality in the future. It takes all the charm of the first films and combines it with the strengths of the JVs to offer us a new, almost perfect adventure. It's beautiful, it's funny, it's varied, and apart from a few little hiccups here and there, it's hard to find any real flaws. For those who missed out on the first trilogy, this is an opportunity to put that right, and enjoy The Ancient Circle to the full.- MGG

Total War: Warhammer 3 is the conclusion of the Warhammer cycle for a saga initiated 22 years ago. Without upsetting the fundamentals, this new Total War is the culmination of the saga with a game that is deeper than ever (with the possibility to play peacefully), very rich in content with eight factions (and as many campaigns) while having a neat and optimized technical part.- MGG

Despite a soft underbelly of a handful of hours in the middle of the game, Resident Evil Village brilliantly continues the path set by RE7, successfully infusing it with the DNA of RE4. Thanks to its technique and its story (but not its narration), the latest canonical episode of Capcom's successful license has all the necessary arguments to please both the series' regulars and newcomers. A ten-hour adventure that will give Ethan Winters a run for his money and that we highly recommend.- MGG

Path of Exile 2 is very polished and much more down-to-earth than its competitors, allowing it to stand out from the crowd and offer something fundamentally different without denying its origins. Even so, it could suffer from being too similar to Diablo in particular. It's the Souls-Like of Hack'n'Slash and other ARPGs, and you need to bear this in mind before diving in. If difficulty doesn't scare you and you like dark, even unhealthy worlds, there's no doubt that Path of Exile 2 is made for you. Otherwise, it's best not to risk it, especially as long as you have to pay for it! [Early Access Score = 85]- MGG

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 offers a very nice campaign that will reconcile players who were unfortunately disappointed by Call of Duty: Vanguard. On the program, a lot of action, endearing characters, and of course a bit of betrayal in all this. If some may find that its lifespan is not long enough, it must be admitted that in this case, it is nevertheless sufficient. And as we have said, the end of the campaign announces something crazy for those who would not have enough yet! Besides, there is something for everyone: from hardcore missions to those that require more discretion, you will be served no matter what your taste is. This opus marks more than ever the return of Call of Duty. [Campaign Score = 85]- MGG

SMITE 2 succeeds where many sequels fail: modernizing a formula while respecting its essence. With dazzling graphics, gameplay with a few new features including Aspects and some welcome innovations, the game lays a solid foundation to appeal to newcomers. Nevertheless, SMITE 2 is still a good time to be played solo or in a group, with gameplay that's quick to pick up and effective, and dynamic games with characters whose chara-design is really well done. The game has potential to be exploited, but it's going to take some convincing on everyone's part. [Early Access Score = 80]- MGG
