We finally have little to complain about in Mortal Kombat 11, which managed to reconcile us with the series. Thanks to its varied cast of characters, its technical but accessible gameplay and its content that does not take players for monkeys, the new MK has the arsenal to satisfy the fans hungry fro fighting games. However, beware of micro-transactions and Tour mode whose construction is dangerously close to mobile free-to-play games.

Hades 2 is the worthy successor to its little brother released in 2020. More beautiful, more complete, more addictive, more varied, and above all, even bigger in terms of content, Supergiant Games treats us once again with their most comprehensive project to date. If you played the first one, you'll love this one, and if you haven't... you'll probably love it even more! A new masterpiece not to be missed, which, even if we're starting to see the formula worn thin, still works and will keep you busy all fall and even winter if necessary, no problem.

For its first major adventure on PS5, Astro Bot can boast a near flawless performance. Although we feel it lacks a “real” final world, Team Asobi's title is quite simply THE new benchmark for 3D closed-level platformers. Packed with excellent gameplay and level design ideas, it also takes full advantage of the PS5's power to bring new things to the table, offering a veritable fireworks display that takes players from surprise to surprise.

We can't thank Valve enough for finally allowing us to dive back into the heart of City 17, especially with a real game that makes the most of the latest VR technologies and innovations. The recurring loading screens do break the rhythm a bit, but that's probably the price to pay to be able to enjoy such detailed graphics and good animations. The excellent physics management not only increases the immersion level, but allows us to exploit interesting gameplay axes as well. We wished we had a little more weapons, different enemies and the ability to fight with every item available, but hats off anyway.

At last, a real VR RPG, rich in content, with neat and detailed graphics, and which has nothing to be ashamed of when compared to the best non-VR AAA RPGs. We are dazzled by this epic journey, albeit the long loading times and poor collision management. Although they end up being repetitive, the dynamic battles require a true gratifying effort without triggering motion sickness. Asgard's Wrath has become the new reference for VR-RPG, and it would be shame to miss it.

Studio Zero hits very hard with its new IP, taking the codes of the Persona series, but twisting them in all directions to make something truly unique. The skeleton is the same as that of Atlus' flagship series, but ReFantazio will turn it into something completely different, thanks to its striking universe, serving a scenario that touched us deeply. Regardless of its interface oversights, outdated technology or limited bestiary, thanks to Metaphor, Fantasy is stronger than ever.

With its rare intelligence, Blue Prince is a title with a unique concept that clearly won't appeal to everyone. Demanding a great deal of patience on the part of the player, its roguelite structure also adds randomness to the mansion's various mysteries, which is likely to cause some frustration. But if you can hang in there, you'll discover one of the most innovative and enjoyable puzzle games of recent years.

There are plenty of things to criticize, from its dated technology to its dungeons with wearying mechanics, but Final Fantasy VII Rebirth manages to hit the nail right on the head. Beyond its fantastic battles and its ever-crazy reinterpretations of scenes from the 1997 game, it's the feeling of having accomplished a great and beautiful journey in the company of an unforgettable group of characters that prevails once the credits have been reached.

Wasteland 3 is an exciting game in many ways, and although it doesn't reinvent the mechanisms of the genre, it implements them in the best possible way. It provides the player with the opportunity to fully immerse himself in the universe he portrays through difficult (or even downright ruthless) battles, situations requiring the player to commit, mature and credible writing, multiple choices and consequences, and multiple resolutions that will allow the player to choose a different path in a later game. The game has a very good rhythm, which alternates battles, exploration and quest resolution, constantly rekindling the player's interest. An excellent RPG for any self-respecting fan.

There are few licenses that are able to last over time while maintaining a high level of quality. The Total War saga is one of them and this new episode is no exception to the rule. Even better, this is probably the most successful episode of the saga. Filled with novelties, offering a colossal amount of content, and having a mastered artistic direction, we quickly forget the few technical issues in order to launch body and soul into the conquest of the title of Emperor of China. Moreover, we can't hide our joy seeing the huge replayability of the game which once again promises several dozen (hundreds?) hours of fun.

While the Forza Horizon series could be criticized for treading water, there’s no denying the effectiveness of Playground Games’ formula, which is at its peak in this sixth installment: the Japan of FH6 is stunning, rich, and a joy to explore. Without even trying, it has become the new gold standard for arcade racing games—a position previously held by Forza Horizon 5.

Beautiful, clever, fun.... It's hard not to fall under the spell of Luigi's Mansion 3, a title that anchors this series among Nintendo's most prestigious. Entirely playable in cooperation, LM3 never ceases to surprise by offering a state of the art level-design and, as always, inventive puzzles. The title from Next Level Games is, simply put, one of the best game on the Nintendo Switch.

With Forza Horizon 5, Playground doesn't shake up its arcade racing formula, but when it works so well, why change? Especially since Mexico in this episode offers undoubtedly the best map of the series, with an amazing variety of biomes and an attention to detail that borders on respect, especially on such a massive playing surface. FH5 is a title that manages to do everything it does with its hands in its pockets. Its also one of the most beautiful games of the current generation.

Artdink and Square Enix bring us a near-perfect retelling of a game that's over 30 years old. The Japanese publisher proves once again that it is the king of remakes, with a version that combines HD-2D, more resplendent than ever, with life-saving comfort options. It's modern, but never scratches the heart of the Dragon Quest series, which remains intact in this remake. A must-have title for all fans of old-school JRPGs.

It's difficult to talk about Outer Wilds without saying too much. It's one of those rare games where you just want to place the person you are trying to convince in front of the screen and watch them play, like you'd watch a child stack building blocks for the first time. There is something inherently fascinating and intriguing about this simulation of space archaeology, where the journey is just as important as the destination — both in the messages it delivers and the satisfaction it provides.

With this remake of Resident Evil 4, Capcom offers us the ultimate version of a title that marked the history of video games. As beautiful as it is good, this new vision of Shinji Mikami's classic erases the imperfections of the original by fixing its clumsy sequences and adding new ones, for a result of a flawless consistency. More rhythmic and pleasant to play than ever, it is simply everything we expect from a video game remake.

Ten years later, Xenoblade Chronicles confirms its status as an iconic Japanese RPG: a classic and an excellent reference for all those who would like to see how the genre has evolved since the 16/32-bit golden age. While the battles are quite messy and the visual redesign will probably have an aftertaste of "not enough" for the most demanding players, it's still the best way to discover this masterpiece by Tetsuya Takahashi and Monolith. If you're a first time player, enjoy: titles of this magnitude are far too rare to miss.

Hollow Knight: Silksong almost lives up to the community's insane expectations, which is quite an achievement in itself. Its production values are incredible for an indie game, and it's paired with solid gameplay and impressively rich content. Its main problem is its overly steep difficulty curve, combined with a few balancing issues and other clumsy design choices that are likely to frustrate players. Without these issues, it would be almost perfect. This is not a game for the mainstream audience, and in many ways, it proves to be more demanding and punishing than the titles that serve as benchmarks in this area, such as Dark Souls. Before you start playing, be prepared to spend several hours dying over and over again on a number of bosses.

The developers seem to have learned from the small mistakes of their first opus, especially on the gameplay. While the first title was considered too directional, this one is much less so, offering a much more aggressive approach. As for the scenario, it's a faultless one, the story faithfully follows the past events and transports the player as well in the terrible adventure of Hugo and Amicia. Still in France, the scenery will delight the friends of the little detail and will be able to be transported in the beauty offered by the south of our country. Will Amicia and Hugo finally find the peace they have been looking for? We strongly advise you to play the game to find the answer.

The culmination of the franchise and so much more. Capcom is still putting up the pressure one notch above, with new mechanics, a renewed gameplay, and a replayability that will make you start the game a second time without losing your smile. The story has matured and a good balance has been found with its three destinies that intersect over the course of the missions, until its apocalyptic final. Only big downside in a game that requires precision in its highest difficulty levels: the camera problems and the targeting system.

Far from being a simple sequel to a cult license, Baldur's Gate 3 is a new monument to role-playing. It never ceases to impress, both in terms of its high-quality production and its incredible richness on every level. But perhaps the most astonishing thing is the sheer range of possibilities on offer, almost unheard of for a game of this scale and complexity. It's a great adventure in which you can progress in your own way, without feeling restricted. The game has almost everything it takes to become a new absolute reference in the genre, and apart from a few finishing and interface problems, the criticism that can be levelled at it is that it may prove too much of a chunk for many players. You need to have hundreds of hours ahead of you to really appreciate it fully.

The Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection port on PC meets almost all our expectations. The graphics and comfort options are rich, and it's perfectly playable with keyboard and mouse, on different types of screens. The remaster of Uncharted 4 was already an excellent game thanks to its high level of realization, its solid gameplay and its mastered narration, with characters as credible as they are engaging. This new version allows you to experience all of that officially, and in a modernized form, somewhere other than a Sony console for the first time.

As is usually the case with remasters and ports of Sony games, Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection lives up to expectations. Uncharted 4 was already a fantastic game in the first place thanks to the combination of top-notch direction, solid gameplay and masterful storytelling, with characters that are both believable and engaging. This new version allows you to experience all this with the same comfort and the same level of immersion as the other PS5 games or almost.

Katana ZERO is a real success. A cryptic scenario well brought on, very fine gameplay, generous without being frustrating, the visuals are delightful, the soundtrack is funny and everything is magestically orchestrated. It is difficult to blame anything after the baby of Askiisoft, maybe a lack of a Time Attack mode that would match perfectly with the genre.

Pokémon Sword and Shield provides new sensations even for the most experienced trainers who have finished all versions. New Pokémon, new features, breathtaking graphics and music... Game Freak is offering us a complete renewal of its emblematic license. If a few details need to be reviewed, if the game remains a little simple and the scenario leaves us a little hungry, there is no doubt that the developer is now offering us the first game of a long series for Nintendo Switch.

With Atelier Yumia L'Alchimiste des Souvenirs and La Terre Rêvée, Gust shows us that the choice of appropriating a formula that works elsewhere can also be beneficial for a franchise like Atelier, taking it into a new era. Admittedly, not everything is perfect, as there is a lack of optimization in certain locations, but overall, the journey that awaits us is well worth the detour, whether for the trinity (combat, exploration and synthesis) or the story of our heroes, which is accompanied by a quality soundtrack.

When a game as good and rich as Persona 5 returns in an even better form, it's hard not to be impressed. Persona 5 Royal is truly the crown jewel of the license, capable of seducing a new audience with its localisation and introducing them to the J-RPG genre, and even convincing old fans to remake the game despite its length. Almost everything has been improved, the lifespan, interactions, fights, activities and accessibility. We just regret that the owners of the original game don't have the option to buy it as an extension and that the complete game has to be bought back with bonus DLCs.

Path of Exile 2 is very polished and much more down-to-earth than its competitors, allowing it to stand out from the crowd and offer something fundamentally different without denying its origins. Even so, it could suffer from being too similar to Diablo in particular. It's the Souls-Like of Hack'n'Slash and other ARPGs, and you need to bear this in mind before diving in. If difficulty doesn't scare you and you like dark, even unhealthy worlds, there's no doubt that Path of Exile 2 is made for you. Otherwise, it's best not to risk it, especially as long as you have to pay for it! [Early Access Score = 85]

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 offers a very nice campaign that will reconcile players who were unfortunately disappointed by Call of Duty: Vanguard. On the program, a lot of action, endearing characters, and of course a bit of betrayal in all this. If some may find that its lifespan is not long enough, it must be admitted that in this case, it is nevertheless sufficient. And as we have said, the end of the campaign announces something crazy for those who would not have enough yet! Besides, there is something for everyone: from hardcore missions to those that require more discretion, you will be served no matter what your taste is. This opus marks more than ever the return of Call of Duty. [Campaign Score = 85]

SMITE 2 succeeds where many sequels fail: modernizing a formula while respecting its essence. With dazzling graphics, gameplay with a few new features including Aspects and some welcome innovations, the game lays a solid foundation to appeal to newcomers. Nevertheless, SMITE 2 is still a good time to be played solo or in a group, with gameplay that's quick to pick up and effective, and dynamic games with characters whose chara-design is really well done. The game has potential to be exploited, but it's going to take some convincing on everyone's part. [Early Access Score = 80]
