While the gameplay and graphics of Immortals Fenyx Rising aren't really innovative, Ubisoft's new franchise brings a fresh new twist to the open-world genre. And with good reason: everything is simplified in the right way to appeal to a very wide audience, and the story is told with a great deal of humor. A perfect mix that makes the adventure very addictive and could surprise you for the end of the year 2020.

What makes a good LEGO game? A good dose of humor, varied levels, brick collecting and flawless local co-op. Obviously, this Skywalker Saga meets all these criteria with flying colors and more. Of course, we enjoyed the return of some of the typical TT Games foundations, but it was the novelty and the risk-taking that attracted us. Stunning graphics for a game with bricks, more dynamic fights than ever and a huge open world full of secrets and puzzles. In short, an ambitious compilation confirming that this is the best LEGO game of all time. Can't wait to see what's next with other adaptations.

With Desperados III, Mimimi brilliantly relaunches the license by going back to the roots of the genre. We would have appreciated a little more variety in the opposing ranks and more polished cinematics. However, the western atmosphere of the title, its seductive scenery, the constantly renewed gameplay and the perfectly tuned level design quickly make us forget these little details. In addition, the multiple challenges offer a great replayability.

Perhaps a little too close to its predecessor, Remnant 2 remains an excellent co-op experience, at the crossroads between TPS, hack & slash and souls-like. An explosive mix that quickly comes into its own, with demanding boss battles, randomly generated maps full of surprises and an RPG aspect with a plethora of build possibilities. We do regret, however, that the number of new worlds is a little low, and that collision masks are sometimes clumsy, leading to unjustified deaths. Nonetheless, there's nothing to spoil the enormous pleasure of playing what is sure to be one of the best games of the summer.

Little Nightmares II honors its predecessor by taking up the basic concepts convincingly, while bringing some new features — such as NPCs helping you and melee combat. Even if the controllability isn't flawless and some technical imperfections remain, this doesn't take away from the high level of the game's artistic direction. The soundtrack alone manage to create a gloomy and uncomfortable atmosphere, all within a wide variety of environments — and some iconic enemies.

Persona 5 Strikers is a successful crossover, bringing a true sequel to iconic JRPG. Among other things, it'll allow fans to learn more about the high school band led by the Trickster. With Strikers, Omega Force delivers: it's a demanding title, particularly enjoyable and complete enough to take you on a road-trip for countless hours.

NBA 2K26 is the best installment in the series to date, and is probably the most comprehensive sports game on the market. It offers countless game modes, all powered by the revamped ProPLAY engine, which breathes new life into the gameplay and realism offered by the game. A must-have for all NBA fans who want to play with both current and past rosters, as well as the entire WNBA, which is coming to MyTEAM mode this year. This is probably the best installment in the series, and even though there is still room for improvement in many areas, it will clearly do the job for the 2025-2026 season.

With a breathtaking graphic texture, Crash Bandicoot: It's About Time is a breath of fresh air on the series while retaining the strengths of previous titles. Its extreme difficulty at times will discourage some but fans of the genre and nostalgia will always want to complete the levels at 100%. This ubiquitous difficulty makes this fourth opus a game that is perhaps not intended for the general public or at least for young children wishing to discover the universe of Crash and Neo Cortex. Crash Bandicoot: It's About Time is a modernized digest of good humor, invigorating colors and old-fashioned gameplay the way we like it combined with four new ways to play with Quantum masks.

Contrary to the received idea conveyed by the first trailer of the game, Genshin Impact has its own identity coupled with mechanics that certainly already work elsewhere. However, he manages to stand out with his kawaii side and his system of elements. Between a dynamic gameplay, a very good quality soundtrack and a rather rich history, the game of miHoYo manages to rise in the box of the very good games of the genre despite its gacha-game side. In addition to offering cross-play between all platforms and being free, it follows in the footsteps of other headlines and could very well become one of the good surprises of this end of the year 2020 (if it doesn't. is not already done).

Battlefield 6 marks the grand return of a franchise that fully embraces its heritage while modernizing its foundations. DICE has managed to reaffirm the strategic DNA of the series that was lost in Battlefield 2042: cooperation, reading the terrain, and mastery of equipment still take precedence over the reflexes and chaos typical of the competition. The shooting mechanics are more balanced, soldier mobility is much better calibrated, and the maps, which are exceptionally rich, offer truly exhilarating diversity. Admittedly, the single-player campaign lacks scope and some multiplayer modes still need tweaking, but the core gameplay remains solid, fast-paced, and rewarding. With 45 weapons at launch, nine carefully designed maps, ambitious content tracking, and the promise of regular updates, Battlefield 6 unashamedly ranks among the best installments in the franchise.

With graphics that will make other games in the franchise jealous, New Pokémon Snap succeeds in following the line of successful spin-offs. More than a revival of the episode released on N64, this new opus is a breath of fresh air offering us a colorful journey in a new region. Let's admit it, New Pokémon Snap has everything to please and has very few flaws that could spoil its potential, even if its lifespan remains a bit short.

Seeing Donkey Kong return is always a great pleasure, even when it's just the return of a 15-year-old title. Donkey Kong Country Returns was a great title in 2010, and it's still a great title in 2025: its unique gameplay sets it apart from the competition, its art direction hasn't aged a bit, and its content, though identical to the 3DS version, should quench your thirst for platforming in the new year.

After spending a hundred hours at the side of Ichiban Kasuga and Kazuma Kiryu, the verdict is clear: Infinite Wealth is one of the most solid episodes in the saga that began some 18 years ago. Well-paced and better constructed than its predecessor, this new Like A Dragon engraves its turn-based gameplay in the marble of the series, thanks to some excellent ideas that allow it to assert its own identity against other JRPG greats. With its concrete narrative and gargantuan content, it manages to be interesting from start to finish, before stumbling at the end with a conclusion that is likely to be debated and a new game plus at $14.99.

The developers from Insomniac Games have successfully entering the next-gen era and are rewarding us with a second high quality instalment for their Spider-Man license. Miles Morales has completely seduced us in spite of its rather non-innovative side content, simply because the magic of the superhero blockbuster still works very well, and keep on carrying us away without ever getting boring. On the performance side, the PS5 already shows us a taste of what it will be able to do through a game very well polished. Don't miss out on Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

While Death Stranding 2 is overall a better-finished and more engaging game than its predecessor, it's also a less memorable experience. The grandiose environments presented with a beautiful soundtrack and the major improvements linked to progression fail to hide a Hideo Kojima who overdoes it and doesn't seem to know where he's going with this sequel. Despite all the pleasure we've taken in playing this second game, it's hard not to feel that it's undermining the legend of the first episode.

With the experience accumulated on The Division 1, Massive manages with TD2 to excite our curiosity. Stronger, more generous, better built, the title succeeds where other games as service before it has struggled to. Thanks to its end-game, which renew the experience by adding content and skillfully recycles the existing one, but also thanks to this map of Washington, absolutely fantastic, which allows more than ever to immerse yourself in the universe of the agents of the Division.

F.I.S.T. is a very solid metroidvania, with a neat universe and fights that keep you glued to the pad. Rather difficult and rich enough in content, TiGames' soft only suffers from a few clumsinesses, such as regularly misplaced checkpoints or a few lunar collisions, but nothing that can really spoil the pleasure of playing.

Assassin's Creed Mirage is the return to basics that Ubisoft had hoped for. Without reinventing the JV tricks of the trade, it relies on solid fundamentals (infiltration, parkour, exploration), simple but effective characters and storyline, and is one of the pleasant surprises of 2023. More than just Valhalla's DLC, Mirage takes us away and immerses us in a splendid Baghdad, full of life and activity, where it's easy to get lost by stealth.

Last Epoch is the perfect game for you if Diablo 4 has disappointed you and you're wisely waiting for PoE 2. After 4 years of early access and listening to the community, Eleventh Hour Games has succeeded in creating another great Hack'n'Slash, a perfect blend of the genre's ARPGs, Lost Ark and Dr.Strange. A well-stocked endgame content and thousands of items to farm follow an interesting but not memorable campaign. The game will easily hold you hostage for dozens of hours and more if you're a fan of the genre, and will suit veterans and neophytes alike, even without being as accessible as a D4.

With this second episode, the Judgment series proves that it can perfectly complement the main Yakuza series, which has been turn-based since its seventh episode. Yagami's investigation in Seiryo High School is exciting and much better paced than the first episode, while the gameplay has been enriched enough to push us to comb all of Yokohama once again. However, street fights are still slow to start and some investigation sequences break the rhythm of the game on some occasions. However, if you want a dose of good humor with a dark and well-written detective story, you can go eyes closed.

Yakuza Like a Dragon is a success on almost every level: its turn-by-turn fighting system manages to hook the player while enhancing the experience of die-hard fans. In addition, the very solid storyline takes us once again to a new neighborhood for a total change of scenery. However, we would have liked Yakuza 7 to strengthen its game by offering more challenges for those who are already familiar with the Japanese role-playing genre. To do so, we will have to rely on a DLC pack including a hard mode upon release: a particularly clumsy decision from our point of view.

Samurai Shodown is the breath of fresh air the saga has needed. The visual style immediately adds to the atmosphere, helped by an immersive soundtrack and fluid animation. The addition of the dojo and the game's accessibility make you want to dive in and master everything. In terms of gameplay, it's in these games of defence and subtle counter-attack that Samurai Shodown shines. It's not the best game out there, but we highly recommend it to fans who want a different fighting game experience.

DOOM Eternal boosts its gameplay to offer spectacular fights of rare intensity. The dive into the action is instantaneous, and you'll have to shoot, run, jump, and cut the demon in every direction to honor the title of Doom Slayer. It's not easy, but it manages to provide a satisfying experience for different types of players. As a solo player, he delivers what the fans have been asking for, and although the campaign is quickly over, the master levels take care of fleshing it out. If it lives up to its promise, multiplayer should also offer a fantastic opportunity to gut each other with friends, but we couldn't test it this time.

One of the biggest surprises of this final part of the year. Immortals: Fenyx Rising is fun, beautiful, with lots of things to do and plenty of battles to fight. It may get a bit repetitive over the hours, but still worth it. And you'll laugh a lot with Zeus and Prometheus.

GrizzlyGames offers a vision of city building with Islanders as rarely seen before. Forget the management of the population, the economy and all the cumbersome settings, the game starts with the bare minimum to travel and appeals to your optimization skills. Building a city has rarely been so pretty and satisfying, and you'll probably end up your games thinking "Come on, I can do better". We will simply regret the music being a little too repetitive.

Control is by no means a perfect game. We're disappointed that some of the ideas don't go far enough, and it may seem short and repetitive to some. However, it is an emotional game, and a statement of intent by a developer which has lacked creative freedom in the past. Cryptic, captivating, inspiring, beautiful — those are all words that could be used to summarize our experience.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses is an ambitious and charming game, but in many ways it is also terribly clumsy and unbalanced in its design. It may be pleasant to choose your class and students, interact with them, train them and go to battle, but this ends up becoming heavy and repetitive. When starting FE3H, one should note that it is not just the tactical side of gameplay that is important, but that the school management, dialogue, exploration and mini-games are all crucial to the overall experience.

New features, new creatures and an adventure that deserves your time as much as the original Pokémon games campaign. A much better expansion than The Isle of Armor, but if you consider both expansion as a single offer it could be a great new game that deserves to be played.
