Apparently, Yu Suzuki's own vision for the open world genre did not match what the latter came to be. But we do give him credit for choosing to stay on the route that fans expect. In the end, this is still a Kickstarter-funded product would not exist without the fans. What the rest of us think of outdated controls, confined environments that pretend to be open-world-like and mediocre voiceover efforts is secondary. For anyone who has waited to continue the story of Ryo's journey in pursuit of his father's killer, it's the most important event of years to come. For everyone else, it was Friday.- M3

Several of the new features in Football Manager 2020 hit just right, especially for players who prioritize long "saves" over jumping between different clubs. Our biggest dissatisfaction concerns the match engine, where obvious deficiencies tend to create unnecessary annoyance. But new depth and even more focus on talent development makes this year's version of Football Manager at least as good as last years.- M3

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is something as unusual as a pretty damn great single player Star Wars game. The different worlds are a joy to explore, while the combat make you feel like a mighty jedi while still being challenging. It's a shame the game feels so unpolished and somewhat unfinished, but luckily the problems aren't big enough to ruin the overall experience. On the contrary; Fallen order is best single player Star Wars game since Republic Commando.- M3

It's easy to judge Sword & Shield as a quick cash grab during it's first hours. The rich and complex story from Sun & Moon is all gone in favor for a more classic Pokémon story with no flimsy side tracks. Graphically, it is also not as impressive as other major titles from Nintendo. But what we get instead shows a willingness to take the series forward with new, fresh features with Dynamax and the open world hub that is the Wild Area. And in the end the fight is the most important thing in a Pokémon game. When we're in the middle of a gigantic and crowded stadium, enjoying the most dynamic battles of a Pokémon game, it's hard to think of anything else. Then we realize that Pokémon should be all about becoming "the very best." Everything else is secondary.- M3

Luigi's latest adventure is an adorable and well-made game that is far more diverse than we first thought. Exploring the hotel sometimes feels as extensive as the usual Super Mario adventure, instead of the brief experiences that preceded it. In addition, Luigi's arsenal has grown and with the help of Gooigi we also get a whole new way to deal with the many puzzles the hotel offers. But above all, it's the variety of ghosts and their surroundings that makes Luigi's Mansion 3 one of the most entertaining adventures this fall, despite some tricky controlling methods.- M3

Nintendo Ring Fit Adventure is a cozy way for the otherwise sedentary gamer to be entertained while at the same time getting some exercise. It is a surprisingly well-made game that offers new features even after a long time playing. In this way, at least Ring Fit lives up to what it promises. However, we cannot say that we would boast to anyone that this was our exercise routine.- M3

All in all, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is not a large-scale return, but not a disaster either. The fact that the single player campaign is back and is of course welcomed. It's is very ambitious but most of the time it feels like we are getting more of the same. And that more of the same right now feels mostly old.- M3

Death Stranding is unlike anything we have played before, despite it's obvious influences from previous Kojima games. And just as in his other works, there are a number of messages and meta discussions engraved in the experience, which certainly will again deter those who only want to play casually. No offense to that, but in the case of Death Stranding, it probably just makes the experience more difficult to digest. It requires a more open mind than other games. Partly because the story is a bit more overwhelming than usual, but also because the deliveries we actually have to make can feel repetitive if we lose the overall picture. For those who are still willing to try something new it's one of the most unique experiences in years. A journey that affects the entire emotional spectrum and that makes us reflect far beyond the final credits.- M3

Grid is an easy-to-play racing game that entertains on the track but disappoints everywhere else. The career mode is hardly worth the name, and the online mode only offers the most basic functions. Although, if you can't stand the realism you’ll find in most of today’s racing games and just want something fun to play – Grid might be the game for you.- M3

The Outer Worlds is an extremely familiar experience that successfully draws inspiration from some of the most appreciated gaming series of the 21st century. It's well written with lots of exciting twists in the story and has lots of memorable moments. The character gallery and humor definitely carry the story and although some elements could have been improved, we still are very fond of Obsidian's new space opera.- M3

Overwatch for Switch is not the port that will make you abandon the other versions. In the end there are just too many compromises to recommend it for any purpose other than portable gaming. Even then there are factors to take into account, like the games slower frame rate. But if you can bare that, Overwatch is is one of the better fps games for the Switch. Just not exactly the same Overwatch as other versions.- M3

Saber Interactive has set a new standard for Switch conversions - now other developers can no longer blame the hardware. It is not a perfect depiction of the earlier versions technically, but that was never really the point. For those who intend to play on the TV, then console or PC versions are preferred. But if you want to carry with you one of the biggest adventures of recent years, there is no doubt. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on Switch contains everything we loved about Geralt's latest adventure and is the ultimate proof that the game has unbelievably more substance than just a detailed world.- M3

Seen as an expansion, Destiny 2: Shadowkeep is good but not great. Most of the new content is enjoyable, but the gameplay loop falls into familiar routines surprisingly fast. However, if you see the expansion as a part of a complete package, the overall improvements have transformed Destiny 2 to one of the best action games this console generation. If you haven’t tried it yet, there hasn’t been a better time to start than now.- M3

Unfortunately, many of the previous versions' flaws are still in Ghost Recon: Breakpoint, and some new ones have been added. The game is a bit neat and we do like some elements. But there are too many bugs and a great lack of depth for us to be drawn into the large and relatively deserted game world of Aurora.- M3

Hexagroove: Tactical DJ is a somewhat odd but still enjoyable music experience. While it isn’t a typical music game where you mimic predetermined tunes, it isn’t a music creation tool either. Instead it’s something in between. At first the gameplay might feel both overwhelming and confusing, especially since the tutorial is pretty terrible. But after some practice everything starts to come together – and you will soon be hypnotized by the excellent symbiosis of sound and visuals.- M3

Borderlands 3 is another excellent game in the series that started the whole "looter shooter" genre. Tight controls, non stop action and a great variety of stages make us want to explore even more all the time. Some parts of the dialogues may feel slightly over the top though. And as the subgenre's name suggests, the whole thing is to loot weapons, which in the long run may be to repetitive for some. Gearbox did not revolutionize the genre this time around, but instead refined it's own concept a notch.- M3

It should be said at once: if you expect the same experience as in Breath of the Wild, you should wait for the sequel instead. The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening is rather a throwback to simpler times and has completely different qualities to offer. Even though, the journey itself is filled with wonderful side characters, colorful enemies and a certain mystery that is not found in other Zelda games. It's like as a small vacation resort, a place where we can sit back and relax after the fierce battle against Ganon in Breath of the Wild.- M3

Astral Chain is a different take on Platinum Games action formula and deserves a chance if you're a fan of their previous work. Although the battles never quite reach the same level of finesse and variety as in Bayonetta, there are still a occasions in the game that come close. The interaction between our character and its Legion is the big draw, but unfortunately there are times when we are forced to fight without it. Half of the times because our Legion attacks straight on, the other half because we ourselves fumble around with the right stick. But if you have plenty of patience, Astral Chain works superbly at least until it's time for Bayonetta 3.- M3

It's difficult not to be delighted that the most misunderstood Final Fantasy game is finally getting another chance to shine. As we all known, Squall and the rest of the Seed gangs adventures are a bit difficult to keep up with, especially for those who are used to the traditional stories from other games. And we probably would have preferred that all the characters in the game received the same treatment as our main characters regarding models. But we still dare to say that anyone who looks beyond the unusual, and gives part eight a fair chance, can look forward to perhaps the most unique game in the series.- M3

With great graphics, a surprisingly decent story and meaty battles with an extra tactical layer thanks to Jack the flying robot, Gears 5 surprises us a whole lot. We were skeptical at first, but The Coalition has managed to outshine Epic’s Gears of War titles in most ways. Just beware of all the bugs.- M3

Spyro Reignited Trilogy might be noticeably worse on Nintendo Switch compared to the other versions of the game, but the port is still mighty impressive overall. If you value portable gaming, there is nothing to consider; this is the version to get. But if you mainly plan to play on the TV and have a Playstation 4 or Xbox One, you will get a better experience on those consoles.- M3

Control is a really atmospheric game with everything we want in a third person action game and a little more, but unfortunately it falls on the execution. With more well-made character models and fewer bugs, this would have been a really good game for anyone looking for an immersive and intense experience. Unfortunately, it’s sometimes barely playable. And we get devastated every time we have to restart the entire mission, often because of bugs, as Control otherwise has the potential to become a true full score game.- M3

It’s not hard to find faults in Man of Medan, both in terms of story and gameplay. And yet we can’t stop playing until we’ve seen several endings. At the same time, we can’t shake the feeling that this is a downgrade compared to Until Dawn – a game released four years ago. But still, there is quite a lot to like here, and the low price makes it a solid purchase for horror fans.- M3

Even tough the story is a bit unevenly told; we cannot stop playing Sea of Solitude until Kay has reached the end of her journey. Partly because the story always manages to motivate us to go further, partly because the adventure is not long enough for the shortcomings to become too intrusive. When it is all said and done, Sea of Solitude is a gripping but uneven journey that is worth taking.- M3
