Steamworld Dig 2 triumphs over the first game in every single aspect. The world is better designed and the gameplay is more polished. It may not be a new Super Metroid, but it's close enough.

You may be able to relate to that period in life when every minute of your life circles around a single game. For us this autumn, Divinity Original Sin 2 is that game. Easily one of the finest moments in the genre.

A remake that leaves very little to wish for, even though the gameplay starts to feel a bit old by now. Still the best installment in the series.

Even though The Evil Within 2 is not a perfect game, it managed to keep us on the edge our our seats through its 15 hours of gameplay, with lots of surprises. We keep our fingers crossed for a triquel.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War can best be described as Shadow of Mordor with extra of everything. Just like the first one, it's ambitious, addictive and easy to pick up. The gameplay tends to be a bit repetitive, but in every other way Shadow of War is a nearly perfect action game.

Cuphead is a tribute to the Technicolor cartoons of the 30’s. It’s a hard game as well, with old school mechanics that will bring you tears of frustration.

Forza Motorsport 7 is an exhilarating and easy-to-play racing game that is perfect for everyone who doesn’t want to waste their time on anything but reaching the checkered flag first. And on the track, Forza impresses with a ton of cars and intense races. Unfortunately the somewhat terrible AI, a few game breaking bugs and a complete lootbox-craze left us a with a sour taste. We still enjoy our time with the game, but it is not as fine-tuned as expected.

As usual a new Fifa means an improvement from last year version, this time a small one. The physics and the AI is better, as are the visuals – with leads to a better game overall. Not but a large margin, though.

A bit of a disappointment, mainly because the charming characters from the previously entries has been replaced by others, and a greedily implement of dlc content. Luckily the fighting is as good as ever.

Pokkén Tournament DX is a fun fighting game that is easy to get in to. The core gameplay is more about flashy attacks than finesse, but there is still plenty of room for tactics. All in all, Pokkén Tournament DX is a good addition to the Switch library. Just do not expect many changes from the Wii U version, since it is essentially the same game.

With Total War: Warhammer 2, Creative Assembly nurtures and carefully develops the winning scheme from last year's success. A slew of exciting additions and a new take on the campaign, mixed with four awesome new armies, make this strategy-sequel a must-play.

NHL 18 has plenty of content for the hockey fan, whether you play offline or online. The new skill focused gameplay is a welcome addition, as well as the party mode "Threes". But just like the previous games NHL 18 feels a little too unpolished on the ice. This series is still in need of a renovation.

The first thing you should do in Project Cars 2 is to forget about the career mode. Instead you should go to Custom Race, choose a car that is fun to drive, pick a favorite track and mess around with the comprehensive race settings. After that you should just put the pedal to the metal and enjoy one of the best driving games ever.

On the pitch, PES 2018 is almost as good as it gets. Fluid mechanics, jaw-dropping goalscoring and real precision in the controls make for thrilling matches and spinning highlight reels. Too bad the old flaws are still there – licenses are sparse and the commentary horrendous. If you can look past the errors, this is a must-buy for football fanatics.

Metroid: Samus Returns is the perfect throwback for fans of the genre. With a cleaver counter system, solid controls and atmospheric gameplay it truly stands beside the other 2D entries. It even makes us forget about the tragedies that was Other M and Federation Force. Almost.

Destiny 2 is not as much a revolution as it is an evolution, expanding on every facet of the original game. Even though the story sometimes stumble it is a big leap forward for Bungie, and the wealth of content in Destiny 2 will surely satisfy even the most hardcore players.

Although Before The Storm has the same old graphics as the first Life is Strange, the game feels good and evokes nostalgic memories from 2015. We love the fact that Chloe isn’t super natural at all and are excited to get to know Rachel Ambers.

At best, Monster Hunter Stories is a good Pokémon knock off for fans of the genre. The flawed story makes it difficult to recommend for others.

Although Yakuza Kiwami does fall into the same routine as Yakuza 0, the new new sections with Majima are truly exceptional. Nevertheless, it does not change the fact that Kiwami feels like an expansion rather than a sequel.

With the exception of a few graphical issues and annoying bugs, there is plenty to praise in F1 2017. Codemasters have created a brilliant, albeit a little repetitive, racing experience that is incredibly intense yet entertaining. It would have been welcome with some more notable improvements compared to last year’s iteration, but all the minor improvements enhance the overall experience quite a bit.

Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle is both charming and satisfyingly deep at the same time. The strategic fights are often easy to understand but hard to beat. It’s a surprising well-made marriage between the iconic Nintendo characters and the irreverent Rabbids.

It's not hard to find things to complain about in Knack 2. The characters look terrible, the level design is overly simple and the graphics are lackluster. Despite all those problems Knack 2 manages to entertain quite a bit thanks to challenging battles, enjoyable platforming and clever puzzles. Knack 2 is far from perfect, but it’s still a fun and family-friendly experience.

Matterfall may be the weakest title Housemarque has released to Playstation 4, but it's still a mostly great mix of platforming and shooting. We really enjoy the intense action and demanding difficulty – but we wish the game was a bit more polished and significantly longer.

Starcraft: Remastered is a great but somewhat superfluous upgrade with the original game still being supported and free to play at that. Still it´s hard to fault anyone for wanting to enjoy this versions upgraded sound and graphics since the price point is so low. Starcraft is still fantastic but the remaster it´s more of a thing for pros and nostalgia than for a new set of players.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy offers more of the same cinematic and action packed gameplay as we're used to with the series. The story and the characters are well-written, and the graphics are stunning. On the negative side, the new mechanic that lets us explore the world at our own pace feels a bit underdeveloped.

Agents of Mayhem is a gorgeous slaughterfest filled to the brim with gadgets, silly one-liners and special effects. Is it fun? Absolutely! Is it freakin' awesome? Nah. Technological glitches and a stroke of repetitiveness prevents this game from netting a place among the must-buys of 2017.

Great mix of retooled old stages and new ones, still with the same feel and replayability as the classics. Sonic Mania is everything that Sonic The Hedgehog 4 Episode 1 and 2 hoped to be and then some.

Regalia: Of Men and Monarchs is a light-hearted tactical role-playing game that is easy to learn yet challenging to complete. Even though the combat system and story could have used a bit more depths, the beautiful hand-painted graphics, well-written characters and enjoyable battles makes it is an impressive debut for the studio.
