The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing does in no way tread new ground in the action genre. But it is still atmospheric and sucks you in with it’s combat and loot system. The latest entry in the Crystal Chronicles franchise does away with a lot of the role playing elements of previous entries in favor of a more action oriented style of exploration where interaction with the environments and combat is handled by motion based Wii controls. Adventuring is entertaining enough but far too many issues with the motion based controls hampers an otherwise decent action adventure game.

Watch Dogs is a game with a high budget that has some really good ideas. Unfortunately it also comes with a lack of focus and many pointless mechanics. If you mix together gameplay elements from Driver, Grand Theft Auto, Burnout and then throw some Vin Diesel in there the result is The Wheelman. An action filled experience where driving cars actually offers an entertaining experience during the somewhat repetitive missions. Your Shape Fittness Evolved is a decent Kinect Game. The concept is great, you see yourself practicing on-screen doing a variety of fun moves while exercising. The menus and interface are slick and good-looking, and it feels like a great showcase of what Kinect is capable of. But in the end, that's really the only thing it feels like. The massive world and tons of secrets to be found in it are two of the few strengths in what is otherwise a really bad racing game. Poor AI, horrid driving mechanics, shoddy physics and tacky design. Put simply, avoid at all costs.

Instead of coming up with anything interesting and worthwhile, Destiny takes mechanics from better games and grinds them to a halt in an incredibly repetitive and monotonous experience. The PvP is all right and the presentation may be gorgeous, but the pretty surface only serves to remind us of the emptiness inside.

Last King of Africa is a remake of the adventure game with the same name released for the PC in 2006. Given that Benoît Sokal, responsible for classic adventure games such as Syberia and Syberia 2, is a member of the development team this game is a big disappointment. It's a decent adventure game but it lacks that certain something that makes the experience memorable.

Funtown Mahjong is a simplified version of the more complex Chinese board game mahjong. The main issue plaguing this title is the fact that it's not simple enough to attract the uninitiated while not being challenging enough for the veterans. The game could very well have utilized the possibilities that a console game offers to the gameplay mechanics, but since this isn't the case you'll be better of taking a closer look at the real deal.

The basic mechanic of riding a snowboard down a mountain covered in white bliss is pure fun and beautifully framed in Shaun White's Snowboarding. Unfortunately, the actual meat of the game is severely flawed which cripples the overall experience. Competitions and other game modes are riddled with issues, bad AI and poorly designed challenges being two of them. Shaun White's Snowboarding does the actual gameplay right, and just about everything else wrong.

A decent action game that entertains for the moment. There are mechanics that encourage cooperation, but other than that there's not much to praise as characters, level design and AI (amongst others) are sub par.
