    The Forgotten City
    With top-notch writing and screenplay, The Forgotten City manages with disconcerting ease to embark the player in a gripping, supernatural and historical tale. A success that is not necessarily obvious from the first moments, when the technical shortcomings of the title (some display problems, animations not always at the top) and the very many dialogues may be put off. But this first impression quickly fades when entering straight into the cursed city of the Modern Storyteller studio, where the famous golden rule is likely to result in the death of all its inhabitants if one of them between them commits the least sin. This initial idea thus gives birth to a whole lot of reflection, on the human condition as well as on the culture of each one, and will bring the player to face many reversals of situation, all well brought up. A very pleasant surprise for fans of the investigation / adventure game.

    The Ascent
    Beautiful to fall for, fun and nervous, The Ascent is a generous twin stick shooter, which evolves in a coherent world with neat lore. If the optimization of the game as the ergonomics of the navigation or the interface remain to be reviewed and can sometimes be frustrating, the whole is sufficiently solid on its shoot part as an RPG to occupy you for long hours, solo or with friends . A great way to get back on track for the small team of Neon Giant, whose game is available as soon as it is released on the Game Pass.

In addition to enjoying spectacular clashes, the action / adventure game takes you on a journey by revealing an inspired universe. All in nuances, the world of Death's Door is constantly highlighted by its varied artistic direction, its rhythmic sound-design and its characters torn between life and death. Sold at a low price, the title published by Devolver Digital is in our opinion the breath of fresh air not to be missed this summer.

    Pokemon UNITE
    By leveraging the power of the franchise and accessible gameplay, Pokémon Unite has established itself as a successful MOBA. Simple without being simplistic, it can be a perfect entry point for newbies. However, it's pretty clear that Tencent's title will need to inflate its content in the coming months to keep players engaged. As it stands, the low number of Pokémon limits the situations encountered and may make games boring. Still, Pokémon Unite already has a solid foundation and is just waiting for content to evolve into a staple of its kind with the general public.

The ride is all the more enjoyable as it offers a story full of twists and turns and endearing characters. Ultimately, it is more at the level of the combat system that the limits are felt. If the latter is rather pleasant and nervous at first, the lack of depth ends up making the clashes really repetitive in the long run. Still, nothing to spoil this 20-hour straight-line tour of Shibuya that will delight those who appreciate the style of Nomura and Action-RPGs.

    Last Stop (2021)
    Last Stop gave us an overall pleasant experience by concocting three distinct plots with fair flavors. Precise rhythm, convincing characters, story that keeps us in suspense: there is no doubt that the Variable State studio masters its pen. What a pity that the player's freedom is so compartmentalized by its lack of impact on events and that the technical quality tarnishes the experience. The adventure will however prove to be appreciable for fervent fans of narrative games who are just waiting to discover an entertaining story.
