With top-notch writing and screenplay, The Forgotten City manages with disconcerting ease to embark the player in a gripping, supernatural and historical tale. A success that is not necessarily obvious from the first moments, when the technical shortcomings of the title (some display problems, animations not always at the top) and the very many dialogues may be put off. But this first impression quickly fades when entering straight into the cursed city of the Modern Storyteller studio, where the famous golden rule is likely to result in the death of all its inhabitants if one of them between them commits the least sin. This initial idea thus gives birth to a whole lot of reflection, on the human condition as well as on the culture of each one, and will bring the player to face many reversals of situation, all well brought up. A very pleasant surprise for fans of the investigation / adventure game.- Jeuxvideo.com

Beautiful to fall for, fun and nervous, The Ascent is a generous twin stick shooter, which evolves in a coherent world with neat lore. If the optimization of the game as the ergonomics of the navigation or the interface remain to be reviewed and can sometimes be frustrating, the whole is sufficiently solid on its shoot part as an RPG to occupy you for long hours, solo or with friends . A great way to get back on track for the small team of Neon Giant, whose game is available as soon as it is released on the Game Pass.- Jeuxvideo.com

With Death's Door, Acid Nerve hits the mark once again. The British studio unveils here a magnificent epic which, admittedly, may lack originality in substance, but charms in its form. In addition to enjoying spectacular clashes, the action / adventure game takes you on a journey by revealing an inspired universe. All in nuances, the world of Death's Door is constantly highlighted by its varied artistic direction, its rhythmic sound-design and its characters torn between life and death. Sold at a low price, the title published by Devolver Digital is in our opinion the breath of fresh air not to be missed this summer.- Jeuxvideo.com

A very, very traditional musô ... but nevertheless successful. Admittedly, its cel-shadding remains an obvious make-up for a dated technique, but it also causes a reinforced Japanese atmosphere and some appreciable graphic effects; Likewise, the repetitiveness of its missions is an obvious black point but is compensated by a diversity of characters and interesting gameplay, and this despite the criticized reduction of its cast.- Jeuxvideo.com

By leveraging the power of the franchise and accessible gameplay, Pokémon Unite has established itself as a successful MOBA. Simple without being simplistic, it can be a perfect entry point for newbies. However, it's pretty clear that Tencent's title will need to inflate its content in the coming months to keep players engaged. As it stands, the low number of Pokémon limits the situations encountered and may make games boring. Still, Pokémon Unite already has a solid foundation and is just waiting for content to evolve into a staple of its kind with the general public.- Jeuxvideo.com

Through its meticulous artistic direction and its urban universe full of charms, NEO The World Ends With You manages to offer a pleasant adventure that will delight lovers of Japanese culture. We enjoy discovering the Shibuya district in its every nook and cranny and enjoying the many shops it includes. The ride is all the more enjoyable as it offers a story full of twists and turns and endearing characters. Ultimately, it is more at the level of the combat system that the limits are felt. If the latter is rather pleasant and nervous at first, the lack of depth ends up making the clashes really repetitive in the long run. Still, nothing to spoil this 20-hour straight-line tour of Shibuya that will delight those who appreciate the style of Nomura and Action-RPGs.- Jeuxvideo.com

With its innovative concept and charming artistic direction, the first title from independent studio Dreams Uncorporated has enough to convince fans of traditional turn-based RPGs looking for a unique experience with a solid foundation. In addition, the accessibility of the title represents an excellent introduction for those who would like to embark on their first J-RPG. Ultimately, Cris Tales sins mainly by some technical details to be reworked.- Jeuxvideo.com

By skillfully mixing Halo and Portal, Splitgate offers fun and enjoyable combat. Perfect for decompressing during short sessions, the relaxed game modes will please players weary of competition and simply looking to frag in peace. Free, fun, generous in terms of cards and game modes… This FPS has it all. And too bad if it draws a little too frankly in his inspirations, because Splitgate is a game of undeniable solidity and in the end, that's all that matters.- Jeuxvideo.com

The Mr. X Nightmare expansion reinforces Streets of Rage 4's staple position by correcting rare errors in the original game. It expands the base game's cast with three new heroes (including two dedicated primarily to beginners), adds a Training mode accessible to all and a new mode: Survival. This new proposal with high replayability comes with game mechanics inspired by roguelite, the bosses of the first opus, a brand new musical playlist that fits perfectly to the universe and new environments, even if we can regret a lack of variety on this side. But this is the only big problem with this first DLC. Despite this and to put it simply: Mr. X Nightmare perfectly complements the original work and it will please fans of the genre.- Jeuxvideo.com

Last Stop gave us an overall pleasant experience by concocting three distinct plots with fair flavors. Precise rhythm, convincing characters, story that keeps us in suspense: there is no doubt that the Variable State studio masters its pen. What a pity that the player's freedom is so compartmentalized by its lack of impact on events and that the technical quality tarnishes the experience. The adventure will however prove to be appreciable for fervent fans of narrative games who are just waiting to discover an entertaining story.- Jeuxvideo.com

If innovation is not the strong point of Ys IX Monstrum Nox, which is actually Ys VIII with the game structure of Tokyo Xanadu, Falcom nevertheless delivers a dense and complete J-RPG. The richness of the action, the characters, the music and the narration shows that the developer has the qualities of a good Japanese action-RPG perfectly in mind, even if his interventionism will make one cringe. Ys IX is a safe bet, but perhaps not as legendary as its predecessor who pushed the limits of level design. Regarding the technical specifics of this Switch version, we note that despite very visible problems when exploring the city (aliasing, clipping, drop in framerate ...), the fights manage to offer a stable framerate. An experience below the PS4 version but which will satisfy those who wish at all costs to play in portable mode.- Jeuxvideo.com

But the Nîmes team, undoubtedly driven by the love of Japanese RPGs that shines through every pixel, has overcome some of the difficulties encountered. Yes, Monster Hunter Stories 2 has all the cards in hand to be the J-RPG of this early summer on Switch. With its original and rich combat system, generous content and charming graphics, the title offers an enjoyable experience that will keep you busy for part of your vacation. Faced with this interesting proposal, we can blame it for its very, even too classic scenario, as well as its technique which does not always manage to offer a stable rendering. In itself, nothing to spoil this invitation to travel which shines with the originality of its confrontations and the good humor it exudes.- Jeuxvideo.com

With its arcade orientation, its cartoonish aspect and most of the 18 events that hold up, the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games - The Official Game does its job quite well, although we would probably have preferred a game more in the vein of London 2012 to name but one. Just as recommendable as on mobile, the Switch version of Sky: Children of the Light gains in magic once the console is placed in the dock. With a rich and pleasant gameplay, a really neat artistic direction and a fairly well balanced challenge (a little less at the end of the adventure), Ender Lilies ticks all the boxes of the successful 2D action-RPG. There isn't much more to say, except that if you enjoyed Hollow Knight or Blasphemous, you are going to have a great time with the baby from Live Wire and Adglobe. Especially since the title has its twist, thanks to its mind system, which will allow you to recover new skills on the bosses beaten. Enough to forge your own style of play, within tortuous and increasingly challenging levels. In short, it's varied, inspired, rich with in addition a good lifespan. A very nice adventure.- Jeuxvideo.com

If it doesn't offer the same depth of play or the same replayability as its model, Crying Suns offers something different. By deciding to take the reins and tell his own story rather than leaving his gaming systems in the hands of the player, he is sacrificing a bit of roleplay in favor of a sustained and well-narrated story. We still regret a lack of variety in the events and replayability impacted by vessels a little too similar. For seasoned players (and even a little intolerant), the changes to Burning Crusade Classic (compared to the original game The Burning Crusade) are not necessarily welcome in the sense that they upset the historical balance of the title. However, for newcomers, this has the advantage of allowing them to better enjoy the content of all of this extension. Even if everything is not perfect, some elements are very pleasant to find, including exploration, Resilience or the obligation to unlock certain accesses to access very high level content. Burning Crusade Classic is therefore a logical and globally successful continuation of WoW Classic, nostalgic as new players can easily find what they are looking for, even if some will be reluctant about the modifications made to the original material.- Jeuxvideo.com

On the other hand, let's repeat it, the adventure will be much better if you opt for the keyboard.- Jeuxvideo.com

Both true to its original foundation and distant in its changes, Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX is arguably not the remake fans of the character could hope for. Some will think the progression is out of date, and they won't be wrong, but the biggest problem is imprecise controls and collisions with enemies. With its very colorful production and quality musical themes, the experience remains correct, but less striking than expected.- Jeuxvideo.com

With Operation: Tango, Clever Plays delivers here a refreshing production that will satisfy lovers of cooperative experiences. The game, with its mastered asymmetric gameplay, simply offers two totally different and yet complementary ways to play. Unfortunately, the proposal, while short, runs out of steam somewhat over time, repeatedly featuring the same mini-games or introducing increasingly confusing objectives. Despite its small flaws, the little creation deserves your full attention, especially if you are looking for an experience to punctuate one or two evenings of your summer vacation.- Jeuxvideo.com

Scarlet Nexus is a big hit when it comes to the action. With its nervous and supercharged fights, you quickly become powerful controller in hand, especially when you can borrow the power of your allies on the fly. This action is helped by framerate which does not falter on next-gen consoles despite the deluge of effects on the screen which can cause readability concerns. If the proposed universe is visually attractive, we regret not being able to enjoy it anymore because of a cruel lack of additional content. Ditto for the story which is certainly interesting but which is served by a more than minimalist staging. A good first draft which, we hope, will serve as a solid basis for a more ambitious sequel in the years to come.- Jeuxvideo.com

Rather complete and benefiting from a significant visual improvement, Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 has been able to emancipate itself from its predecessor without denigrating it. While remaining faithful to the principles of the first episode, this sequel relies on immersive and spectacular ultra-long-distance spots. The developers have chosen a path that may not appeal to everyone, but in our opinion, these sequences provide additional variety. The free phases, between action and infiltration, are still present and the overall experience is very solid. CI Games is mastering its subject more and more and demonstrating it once again.- Jeuxvideo.com

If Tour de France 2020 looked like a small category 2 pass in the history of the license with its small novelties, Tour de France 2021 would be a false flat descending. The new title from Cyanide is really stingy in novelties, does not change its interface or the graphic aspect of the title of a gut. It even removes the online multiplayer mode and the challenge mode to further impoverish the content, despite the many support races available to the Tour (Critérium du Dauphiné, Paris-Nice, Flandrian classics ...). We will simply retain a slightly clearer MyTour mode and very coherent AI opponents compared to reality. For the rest, Tour de France 2021 is still as accessible for any cycling fan and fun in split screen, but not really worth it compared to last season.- Jeuxvideo.com

If you want to offer your children software that will teach them the basics of professional video game creation, or if you want to discover this funny universe yourself with wacky characters rather than a cranky boss who sets up the "crunch ”, The Video Game Workshop is made for you. The lack of an integrated game browser still remains a huge limit to the community dimension.- Jeuxvideo.com

If you have never touched the Ninja Gaiden saga, but you like the experiences raised, or if you are a big fan of the license of Koei Tecmo, this Master Collection is for you! Despite the years, the trilogy remains an excellent vintage made up of two wonderful experiences and a spectacular third title. However, keep in mind that this new compilation brings nothing new other than the addition of the sacrosanct 4K / 60fps on PlayStation 4 Pro, PlayStation 5, Xbox One X and Xbox Series X and S. Three excellent games therefore, which are unfortunately grouped together in a compilation which is satisfied with the minimum union. Now that you are warned, it is up to you to decide whether or not to take out the katana or not to pour out gallons and gallons of hemoglobin.- Jeuxvideo.com

Over the course of its expansions, The Elder Scrolls Online continues to deliver what is expected of it ... or almost. With Blackwood, the content available is certainly interesting, especially when you are a fan of Oblivion, but you should not expect more. By choosing to direct it towards new players, Zenimax Online is probably forgetting its hard core a little on the side of a road that is too monotonous. The observation made in 2019 as in 2020 is therefore the same here, and what could be understandable at the time is much less so in 2021 when the competition sometimes competes with ingenuity to surprise us. A first warning shot that must however be weighed in view of the work carried out on the lore, which is still as fascinating as ever.- Jeuxvideo.com

With its new quests, the proliferation of choices with strong consequences, its new weapons and new ideas that bring a tactical overlay to the confrontations, Steeltown does what is expected of it: to deliver an experience in the right lineage of Wasteland 3. We would undoubtedly have liked a more finished product, free of bugs that hang out here and there or a slightly longer story, but fans of the original game should easily find their account in this expansion.- Jeuxvideo.com
