Mirror's Edge Catalyst can surely appeal to the hardcore fans of the original game, but a crappy AI, an automated skill tree (what's the point?) and a lame Frostbite Engine made us loose Faith in the game.- JeuxActu

Blair Witch feels more like a tip of the hat to Eternal Darkness : Sanity's Requiem than one of the most gruesome games out there. The characters (including the forest) are pretty good, but the sub-par graphics (even on Xbox One X) are a true let down.- JeuxActu

Saints Row 4 takes a turn towards TPS through a scenario change. As President of the United States, the game will put you in a hero role which will make the gameplay deviate towards a gaming experience closer to Prototype than to it's own ancestors. The legacy is not forgotten as the crazy side of things is still pretty much a central point, and of course the specific sense of humor which is the game's signature. With a main quest taking around 15 hours and many more side missions providing a wealthy lifetime, Saints Row is grieved by lots of small faults, chief among them the awful graphics it displays.- JeuxActu

Once again, Level-5 brings a very good title to the Nintendo 3DS with Fantasy Life. It maybe not the greatest RPG ever, but it's fair to say that there is a gamble there, an idea to make this game different, even with all those classic elements around. At the heart of this vision, the job system, which makes Fantasy Life so addictive. Unfortunately, the game is far too easy, too slow and not so interesting from time to time.- JeuxActu

If you ABSOLUTELY want to play any Borderlands game on your new console and you have no other platform available, then you may consider The Handsome Collection as an option. Otherwise, grab the three games on PC or PS3/Xbox 360 for half the price of this expensive compilation.- JeuxActu

Mixing influences such as Canabalt, Broforce, Hotline Miami and Gunpoint, not a hero sadly misses to get the most out of this quite prestigious list of games. In spite of an oriented sense of humor and a weird story, the game manages to be quite joyful with a nervous gameplay and a good replay value thanks to the random character system.- JeuxActu

Assassin's Creed Rogue will be a good value for those who didn't try Black Flag; for the others, it will be a serious case of déjà-vu, as the game doesn't bring anything really new in its gameplay mechanics.- JeuxActu

New Tales from the Borderlands is a very good spiritual sequel to Tales from the Borderlands. The genre remains particular, of course, the total absence of challenge, and the passages actually playable can put some people off. But if this simplified gameplay suits you, then there's no reason to miss out on this humorous adventure, rather well written, populated by delirious characters, and surprisingly aesthetic.- JeuxActu

In its plan to regain the confidence of players, Microids releases Marsupilami : Hoobadventures, a platform that is certainly inspired by Nintendo productions (Donkey Kong Country for example), but do it really well. Armed with a solid gameplay, the game offers really nice graphics. A really good surprise.- JeuxActu

FIFA 17 isn't the wind of change we could have expected. In spite of the new Journey mode and the transition to the Frostbite Engine, the game is still fundamentally the same: a simulation with a certain idea of football, attack-minded and individual. And we're becoming sick of it.- JeuxActu

WRC 8 is a good rally game, especially if you like to have loads of official content, and an approach that's not as sim-oriented as DiRT Rally. We only regret that most of the new stuff is geared towards the management aspect of the game, and not the pure driving.- JeuxActu

Three Kingdoms is one of the very best Total War game, but it's aimed at the seasoned player, as we can find pretty much every gameplay system from the series in it, which could be a little overwhelming for newcomers.- JeuxActu

Halfway between a Dungeon Keeper and a Theme Hospital, Evil Genius 2 is an honorable sequel. Its management mechanics remain very effective, while the atmosphere "James Bond / Austin Powers / No One Lives Forever / 70s" is always as pleasant. A good deal.- JeuxActu

No big change for Just Dance 4 that offers enough new things to push players to buy it. and enjoy it with its girlfriend. With 40 new songs to dance on and the introduction of a new Battle mode, Just Dance 4 is THE game to insert in your console when you want to spend a good evening with your friends.- JeuxActu

For a try, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare is not a masterpiece, but it does work quite well. The gameplay is flawless, the game is well made and the class system is worthy, everything wrapped with strong humor : we were not expecting a first try that was so successful. On the other hand, the content is extremely light which reminds us that PopCap Games has still some ground to cover before reaching the level of the competitors. With three game modes and a handful of maps, you quickly see everything.- JeuxActu

Bravely Second's subtitle is End Layer. Hard to tell Silicon Studio they're wrong ont this point. Even with its new storyline, the game is far too close to the previous one to attract players who already played Default. The others will really enjoy it though, as it's totally playable and understandable, even if you didn't try the first one.- JeuxActu

If Chrono Cross The Radical Dreamers Edition allows a new audience to discover a cult PS1 game in good conditions, the latter could have been better. On the one hand, this remaster benefits from updated graphics, an improved soundtrack but also new accessibility options and exclusive content that makes it interesting both for neophytes and for those who know already the title. But on the other hand, between the lack of a tutorial, perfectible menu ergonomics, but above all a still unstable framerate, this update could have offered a better rendering. It remains to be seen whether patches will correct some of its problems in the future to make the experience even more pleasant.- JeuxActu

So, what can we take away from this Nintendo Switch 2 re-release of Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2? First and foremost: these games remain absolute masterpieces of 3D platforming. Eighteen years after the first installment, their level design is still a model of clarity and creativity. Every galaxy, every mechanic, every jump is perfectly calibrated to delight without frustrating the player. The magic still works, and the emotion remains intact. However, when it comes to the port itself, the disappointment is hard to ignore. This is essentially just a 4K/60fps polish, a cosmetic texture cleanup, and compatibility with both the Switch and Switch 2, nothing more. No 3D model overhauls, no new lighting effects, no significant additional content. Rosalina’s Storybook and the assist mode are nice touches, but they feel anecdotal compared to what you’d expect for a 40th-anniversary celebration. And the price, €70, is particularly steep for a duo that doesn’t include any real expansions or “next-gen” remastering. There’s a slight feeling of incompleteness, or even deliberate laziness, which the most demanding fans will notice immediately. If you’ve never played these two galaxies before, dive in, they’re pure joy. But if you already know them, it might be wiser to wait for a sale rather than support Nintendo’s new pricing approach.- JeuxActu

Used to atypical games, the publisher Annapurna Interactive surprises us once again with Twelve Minutes. Yes indeed the game has some rigid animations, not really worthy in 2021, game is quite short, and the system of dialogues isn't perfect, but the stifling atmosphere, the atypical staging, the surprising scenario and the puzzles are really worth the detour in our opinion.- JeuxActu

Two years after the first game, Rocksmith 2014 does not convince us that it improved over its ancestor. Of course the menus are simpler and the overhaul of modes was a necessity. The lessons are plentiful and more detailed, the playlist still rocks and the teaching method is good for beginners. But some flaws are still present, whether it be the tuning recognition, or the need to have a specific setup to avoid latency; and new ones appear (unpolished Riff mode, useless impro mode, way overpriced). To sum up, those who bought the first episode of the series won't find anything groundbreaking in this new Rocksmith.- JeuxActu

By listening to its community, Bohemia Interactive is selling us the most well-polished ArmA yet to this day, with numerous options for in-game content creation. With an exceptional graphics engine allowing a superb rendering and well evolved physics ArmaA imposes itself as the reference of infantry sims. With a very demanding gameplay, ArmA 3 claims its elitism and raises it as a dogma to face the competition. Quite unfriendly to the newbies, Arma can disappoint by its obvious lack of initial content, which should be vastly improved by the community through the content creator toolbox. Unique for its tough challenges hence the feeling of deep satisfaction when you complete a mission, ArmA 3 sets itself as the playground of elite gamers.- JeuxActu
