This is the best episode of Life is Strange thus far, because the relaxed atmosphere is changing in a more enticing game in which Max's gift is becoming more and more powerful. The relationship with Chloe gets way more important, and that brings a lot of emotional involvement.

Neversoft has delivered a very impressive game with Guitar Hero 5. They have finally cleared al the errors from the previous games and put something extra in the game instead. With a very nice tracklist and the new improvements, Guitar Hero 5 is one of the best music games ever made. The only bad thing about Guitar Hero 5 is that you can not completely import the tracks from Guitar Hero: World Tour and Guitar Hero: Smash Hits.

Give a man a fish and he’ll eat for a day. Give a man Ridiculous Fishing and he’ll never feel the need to eat again, simply because fishing, shooting and buying upgrades is incredibly tight in this game. Ridiculous Fishing is part of the best iOS has to offer.

Dark Souls III is the best that the genius, yet twisted brain of Hidetaka Miyazaki has to offer. This might feel like the Dark Souls game you already played before, but then optimized, smoother and visually more spectacular. Expect epic bossfights, a mysterious story and constant excitement.

Mighty Switch Force 2 really is the perfect sequel. The success-formula hasn't been rigorously edited, but feels fresh and new thanks to some great complimentary additions. It's also less frustrating and balanced better than its predecessor, and still remains challenging.

Retro does it again with Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freee. The better controls and new characters Disie and Cranky Tropical Freeze make the game a successor that feels completely new. The level design is so perfect that you can't blame the game for a single lost heart. Thanks to the great music and cheerful, detailed levels, even dying isn't a punishment.

Rogue Legacy is a brilliant little game the offers a very cool experience. The tight 2D gameplay is perfectly combined with roguelike-elements, and this makes for a challenging game that, unbeknownst to its player, makes entire chunks of days disappear. That it looks great and has great humor only makes this already delicious pie taste better. The sometimes unnecessarily expensive upgrades do halt the pacing here and there, but this challenge makes Rogue Legacy a tough game that will surely be fun for hours upon hours.

A Brave New World is the ultimate Civilization package. The expansion retains the good elements from Civilization V and Civ V: Gods and Kings adds a lot of great content to that. Aside from standard elements like new miracles and peoples, there are, for instance, new trading options when starting your game and many deep diplomatic option for the ending of your game. You can spend the entire summer with this.

The Witness is a gorgeous, colorful puzzle adventure that will offer tens of hours of gameplay. The natural way of introducing new puzzle elements is perfect and as you are free to discover this island full of puzzles, it does not feel repetitive at all.

Despite all its flaws, World of Warcraft Classic is one of the best MMORPGs that you can play. This is proof of an excellent game, but it also shows that mmorpgs as a whole stand still.

The Ballad of Gay Tony is a fantastic add-on. The game delivers a great story, strong characters and cool missions. Furthermore the game is coming with new weapons and a solid playtime. For twenty bucks your busy for a while.

Total War: Rome 2 is pure enjoyment. The strengths of the first installments are still there, mostly in the form of the diversity between different factions and armies. The limited amount of armies, freedom in missions and handy execution of 'auto resolve' only add on to this. It might not look as great as the images might have you suspect, but it's still an easy recommendation.

Left 4 Dead 2 manages to recapture the strong points of the first game while improving on them too. If the real zombie apocalypse is going to be as fun as this one, you have nothing to worry about.

Rez: Infinite is already awesome, but the VR experience makes it so much better. Without any distractions you can see, hear and feel Rez Infinite. Amazing.

Battlefield 1 has a few small errors, but you will hardly notice them as scale of the online action is so big. Finally even online play is impressive, which makes Battlefield 1 the best Battlefield-game in years.

Life is Strange 2 might be a different story, with different characters on a different location: other than that this has the same feel as the first series. Amazing.

Mega Man 11 brings back that old-school feeling, combined with modern things like the Double Gear system, multiple difficulty levels and an upgrade system. Accessible for newcomers and yet crazy difficult for retro gamers.

Persona is a RPG with a strong story, a decent battle system and interesting characters. It is also a lot of fun to upgrade your Persona’s and other abilities. The game starts a bit slow, but is really hard to let go when the story unfolds. Persona 4 is a game that will bring back life in the good old PlayStation 2.

There is put a lot of afford in Professor Layton and Pandora’s box. The cutscenes are beautiful, the story is nifty and the puzzles are challenging. The game does look a lot like its predecessor, almost every type of puzzle we’ve seen in the first game, is also in Pandora’s box. This game is just bigger, better and more badass.

BioShock 2 feels like coming home after a long holiday. The game has a lot of elements which we saw in the first game, but also some nice improvements. Rapture is still a very nice place to explore and we love the fact that you can use guns and plasmids at the same time.

Car enthusiasts do not have to look any further for the best race game of the moment: that would be DiRT Rally. There is so much depth, challenge and sensation in this new Codemasters title, wow. All we want is more tracks and cars.

This game offers as many challenging gameplay as it's predecessor, while adding a fun story mode and playing online with friends. Mario only gets better.

Planet Coaster is an amazing simulator. We expect that we can adjust anything and everything and the amazing Planet Coaster actually allows us to. This is the stuff that dreams are made of.

Downwell is a super quick, complex and challenging game that makes you experience the descend anew every time. Don't play the iOS version, go for the controller.

Borderlands is an amazing collection of bizarre weaponry, hectic fights and great humour. The different environments, crazy weapons and unique skills keep the game fresh from start to finish. The game might have been better off with a slightly lower pace when playing alone, but this is easily outweighed by the fun you'll have when playing with a friend. If you're going to buy just one cooperative game this year, let it be Borderlands 2.

LittleBigPlanet on the Vita is a true sequel to LittleBigPlanet 2. The touch and tilt functionalities offer a new way to create levels and the option to make iOS-style minigames, give LittleBigPlanet an endless amount of levels and games. The fact that it's not possible to play one of the seven million LittleBigPlanet levels made for PS3 is a bit of a bummer.

Celeste is an amazing platformer with tight gameplay, a good storyline and many many challenging levels. Celeste offers many different ways of getting to understand the extreme difficulty levels.

Despite the length of the adventure, Mirror’s Edge offers an experience you will not forget any time soon. Every time you put away the controller and turn off the console, you’re left wanting more. Everything, from the bright visuals to the fast-paced action, justifies the high score.

We can only critique the simple boss fight at the end, cause other than that this new Warhammer is excellent. Everything is working perfectly and the campaign is very entertaining.

Inside is a short but amazing trip through a broken world. It offers not only entertaining and logical puzzles, but also a story that is as tragic as it is bizarre. The fluent animations are the cherries on top of this tasty platform cake.

Colin McRae: DiRT 2 is a beautiful product. The game has left the old school rally feeling to put in a little more show driving. As a race purist i think it’s kind of a misery, but at the same time, i enjoyed it very much. The game looks awesome and it gives you a perfect rally feel. Thanks to the flashback, you never have to redo a match again. A must have for every race fan.

NBA 2K14 on the PlayStation 4 is more than just a polished up version of the game. It's something new. The EcoMotion engine gives an intense basketball experience and new modes could easily keep you busy for a year.

UFC Undisputed 2010 is a great improvement compared to the 2009 installment. The balance between the fighters is much better, it looks better and the waiting times between the fights have been greatly reduced.

Great puzzles, lovely cut scenes and vibrant 3D environments; Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask is the total package. The Layton formula is renewed just enough through a new search function, some action sequences and great 3D implementation. The story might be somewhat predictable, but because of these great improvements Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask is the best Layton game so far.

Mirror’s Edge is still a unique game in every way. The story is captivating, the action is exciting, and the graphics are even better on the PC than they were on the consoles. That’s not enough for a higher score, but every PC-owner who wasn’t been able to experience the challenging and thrilling experience Mirror’s Edge has to offer, should do it now.

Strategically speaking, Pimin 3 is the strongest part in the series. The levels are tenuously constructed, and blossom into more complex environments slowly but surely. You’ll miss a cooperative mode, and some of the Pikmin trail behind stupidly from time to time, but you will look past these problems because of all the other things it has to offer.

The charm of Machinarium is the perfect play between the magic of the setting, the mysterious characters, little visual details and the soundtrack who binds it all together. This reanimation of a extinct and decapitated genre is still going strong, between all the great games coming out on the market these days. It gives us hope about the future of point-and-click.

StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm is an excellent continuation of the series. The campaign is great, Kerrigan's Hero-role is refreshing, the cgi-shorts are very impressive and it's good to see that Blizzard attempted to make some changes to the online spectrum. This is a must-have for anyone who enjoyed Wings of Liberty.

Sneaking, killing and disappearing. Rarely has the work of a ninja been incorporated into a game this well. The dark style, the tension of escaping the guards and loads of variation make Mark of the Ninja an awesome start to a fall filled with blockbusters.

Divinity Original Sin is a very loved game among fans of strategic RPG's. Larian Studios sets the bar even higher with this game, as you have even more races and classes to choose from, without losing the atmosphere of the original.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is innovative in many ways. The multiplayer mode is amazing. Blackout offers many, many hours of fun though it does struggle with some technical difficulties at times.

Injustice 2 is the best solo fighter of this moment. The story is thrilling, the gameplay is just as excellent as the first Injustice, though there have not been many changes to the fighting mechanism.

FIFA 10 is a soccer game that needs no more training. The mistakes made in FIFA09 are polished away and some of the important game elements – to especially realistic soccer lovers – are refined. EA has done everything to make this game the best soccer game of the year.

Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee was a classic on PlayStation One and nearly twenty years later it feels as fantastic as ever. This due to the fact that the game is built from the ground up and the biggest flaws of the original game are history. The fact that it’s a sidescroller now, has it’s pro’s and cons, but the game never really drops the ball. New ‘N’ Tasty offers a lot of nostalgia to its fans and for newcomers, this is the moment to get your first taste of Abe’s abnormal adventure.

The surroundings are a lot better than Forza Horizon 2, and it's no longer necessary to go all the way to another city to start a new race. Every location feels like a game in itself and that makes the game much more sensational and swift.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is a great game to spend your summer holiday with. The story is of a perfect length and grabs you throughout the game. Building your own Outer Heaven adds a nice RPG-element and the cooperative mode is a blast to play with friends. The only slight issue the game has is that the boss battles towards the end are extremely difficult.

GTA: Chinatown Wars is a must-have for every gamer with a Nintendo DS. It’s a game that’ll keep you entertained for hours and every aspect of it fits like a puzzle from beginning to end. It breathes that familiar GTA feeling, yet it also introduces some new and interesting elements. If you don’t have a Nintendo DS yet but are thinking about buying one, let Chinatown Wars give you the last little push you need.

Final Fantasy XV does things quite differently and it is up to you to love it or not. The game seems to be a bit scattered, but somehow it all fits together and makes for an amazing game.

Spectre of Torment offers the best levels from a three year old game. The new options are refreshingly awesome and they make the gameplay feel very different than before.

We don't know what happened to Borderlands 2, but that's probably the fault of Claptrap. This new game offers funny stories, an amazing world to explore and so much more. Must have.

This is the ultimate version of Deus Ex: Human Revolution. The improvements and added DLC won’t warrant a new purchase for those who already played it, but if you haven’t then you should definitely play it now.

A fantastic translation to games of America’s national pastime, baseball. Practically all facets of the popular sport can be found in the game, in a very realistic manner. This holds true for the players, who look great and are animated brilliantly. It’s almost as if you’re actually a part of the Major Leagues. For whoever wants to start playing with their own homemade player, the excellent Road to the Show-mode’s got you covered. There are a few sloppy mistakes, but that doesn’t affect the fun you’ll have in any way. Fun that can be had, not only by baseball-veterans, but also by newcomers.

Newbies might be better off starting with Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, but for experienced Monster Hunters this game is the greatest one thus far. There hasn't been much change since the last game, but there is still much to get from this new Monster Hunter experience.

Bayonetta is the perfect evolution of Devil May Cry. The controls are awesome and we love the combo's. And let's not forget the bosses, which are perfect examples of the quality of the game!

Forza Motorsport 3 is the racing game of the year and the most advanced racer ever. The game has a numerous kind of depth and stays very accessible. Forza Motorsport 3 is the cutest girl of the classroom, but the collision detection isn’t always that great and a little odd. Still, Forza Motorsport 3 is great in everything is does.

Nier is an awesome game which brings a great story, lots of gameplay variation, interesting characters and a very good soundtrack. It is the surprise of this year!

Cuphead offers a great deal of amazingly designed levels and bosses. You will have many days of fun and frustration: a combination that will make you love Cuphead till the bitter end.

Asphalt 7: Heat is a terrific racing game. The game is well paced, has enough tracks and vehicles en offers a lot in terms of gameplay variation. On top of that the excellent graphics and good control scheme, make this a game you cannot miss.

Football Manager is ruling the genre for years, and this year it stays like that. The game has not changed much, the new tactical system and other little additions to the game are bringing an accessible control to deep gameplay mechanics, but there is still room for improvements like every year.

Rockstar has given all, to deliver the complete experience of Chinatown Wars on the PSP and succeeded to do that. The game looks great and the extra missions are bringing more variation to the game. The story has less dept then other GTA-games en that is being hided well by the humour in the game. The minigames don’t come to there right without the touchscreen, but that doesn’t matter. Chinatown Wars is still a great game, which keeps you busy for a long time.

Watch Dogs definitely needs some improvements (the side missions for instance) but what remains is a game that pulls the impossible; the realization of its high expectations. Many games focus on specific target groups, but Watch Dogs creates an experience that we can recommend to anyone. And that's something in which few other games succeed.

Additions like local weather and longer races seem simple changes, but make F1 2012 even more realistic. Racing is so intense that it isn't hard to lose yourself in F1 2012. Not every mode is as elaborate and there are some minor faults, but F1 2012 is simply too complete to worry about that.

Destiny 2 does a lot better than ts predecessor: it looks better, it's a smooth experience and it really is the full package.

With new content such as new soldier types, upgrades and enemies, this expansion will have you grinding your teeth over the new choices you’ll be making. For the loyal fans it’s a reason to replay their beloved game, all the while newcomers get the best version of the game, although they might get overwhelmed with a tidal wave of tactical details.

Majora's Mask still feels like the original. The dark style, playing around with time and masks that give the typical Zelda gameplay a twist are things to love about this game. However, we don't feel that 3DS is the ideal platform for this remake.

The game puts the bar high for the Animal Crossing series, by offering an extremely long game without too much steady routines or repetition. In between everything you can do, you'll get surprised with special visitors, events and season based festivals. It's impressive if you can't see the fun in playing New Leaf after a week.

The Elder Scrolls Online is not the best Elder Scrolls-game nor the best MMO. However, we did love spending tens of hours in Tamriel and this huge world does not seem to grow old quick. There are some flaws, but those are not even big enough to mention as in the end, Tamriel Unlimited is very entertaining, especially now that there are no subscription costs anymore.

If you haven't played the Wii U version, this is an ideal time to get the game. The original is a very underappreciated platformer, and it does have a steep learning curve, but if you like a challenge this game will offer you fun for many, many hours.

Odyssey is not just as good as its predecessor, but thanks to the great mix of RPG, freedom and side missions, it is even better.

Far Cry 4 is everything that made Far Cry 3 great, but it does put some new elements to it that make this game feel fresh. The game world is designed beautifully and we are astonished by the unique and colorful locations that guarantee tens of hours of fun.

Days Gone does not doing anything we haven't seen before, but it does have its own unique style. Exploring the beautiful world where Deacons story and the side missions are a great combination: this game is very enticing.

At times The Walking Dead feels as poorly built as the average zombie, but at its best moments this comic-based game is a true emotional roller coaster. You get attached to the different characters, which makes the grueling decision you'll have to make that much more impactful.

Puppeteer is a rare experience that shouldn't be missed. The gameplay is very varied and the changing of decor prevents boredom from setting in. No matter how young or old you are, there's something for everyone in this magical and beautifully animated world.

I haven't lost any muscle, #fitgirl or tens of pounds, but Nintendo has been getting me to work out for two weeks and I like it too. That is a miracle in itself and proof that Ring Fit Adventure does what it promises to do: give you the motivation to work out and keep it up to date thanks to the incredibly fun story mode. The game may look crazy, but make no mistake: you will be put to work mercilessly.

Batman proves himself in this fantastic game. It is more then a good license game, it is a must have!

God of War III ends with a bang. The trilogy end contains pretty much everything that you’ve come to expect from the series with a few surprises along the way. We wish there were a little more titan battles but overall the story of Kratos gets a worthy ending.

This is the ultimate version of a unique classic. The new version of the Zodiac Job system offers a custom feel to the game and really upgrades a few flaws from the original. Other than that this is like the original: a beautiful story filled with interesting characters.

It does not happen often that a remake is better than the original, but it is the case with Yakuza Kiwami 2. The plot twists are amazing, and the same goes for storytelling, characters, sidequests and the fighting system of this game.

Ni No Kuni is an amazingly complete package. It’s disappointing the game puts the player through a lot of backtracking and the difference between the beautiful cinematic cut scenes and the text balloons is terrible. These are only minor issues when you see the beautifully created world, the excellent fighting system and the incredible amount of content the game has to offer.

World Tour offers a ton of great additions to the Guitar Hero series. The GHstudio and Create-a-Rockstar mode are a real treat, together with all the minor improvements made to the key concept of the game. It’s even better than its main competitor Rock Band 2, because of the great track list, and the fact that players are given the chance to actually create music to a certain level.

Mario + Rabbids: Battle Kingdom turned into a game that combines both original IPs in a very original way, while also adding the amazing strategic depth of a game like X-COM.

It took a while, but Devil May Cry is back and better than ever before. The balance between Nero and Dante is perfect and the introduction of the new character V is very intriguing.

Final Fantasy XIII is a big and impressive adventure that manages to push the genre in the right direction. The characters, battle system and the story are all great. The fact that there are parts in the game that are unnecessary long and boring is to bad, still FFXIII is the one of the best RPG’s of this generation.

A great continuation of the Assassin's Creed series because of the strong visuals, gameplay and story. Though it must be said that the story gets somewhat boring towards the end, which leaves a sour taste.

Not only the best inFamous game yet, it's also one of the best PlayStation 4 games you can get right now. Newcomers won't miss a thing thanks to the introduction of hero Delsin Rowe, and they get four powers instead of one this time around. inFamous: Second Son is a joy to play.

The legacy of Dark Souls force us to compare. Sekiro definitely misses out on adventure and replayability, as well as aesthetic creativity. However, any other part of the game is just amazing.
