From the paltry selection of playable classes, to the lifeless levels, to the uninspired enemies, this game only barely justifies its budget price point.

For those looking for the most beautiful or moving game ever, whether visually or from a narrative state, move on. For those who are looking for pure action, you're getting a bit warmer but still quite a ways off. If you want a game filled with a mix of puzzles and combat that leans more towards the former, then you're right on the money.

All in all I came away from Shutter, with a satisfied level of fear in my gut and most of my scepticism put to rest. It may not have the polish it perhaps needs, but through a combination of classic survival horror elements and interesting gameplay mechanics, Shutter still managed to create tension, and leave me feeling more than a little uneasy.

Technically, it’s not particularly well made either. Beyond the poor collision detection and weird invisible walls, I encountered multiple bugs.

Although Assassin's Creed Rogue has many similarities to both Assassin's Creed III and Blag Flag, it does combine the main gameplay features of sailing, exploration and combat rather well.

I’m happy to say that despite my initial worries about their pay model, Nightbanes is a fun, casual card game for people that don’t want to invest a ton of money on physical sets or spend days just trying to learn a complicated system.

Ironcast certainly is a little bit of fun, initially. But as you grind your way through mundane turn based battles, one mission feels like the next.

Three Fourths Home is not for everyone. But it is an experience that, as short as it may be, is worthwhile to play. Through the options it presents you and it’s wonderful aesthetic, Three Fourths Home is a game that I would recommend to anyone who wants to try something new.

Worlds of Magic would have been passable had it not been so buggy.

It doesn’t have much of a story or a big sprawling singleplayer campaign with characters, but then neither does Chess or Draughts, and they’re still fairly solid strategy games!

Trapped Dead: Lockdown does a lot of things wrong from a gameplay design perspective, and unfortunately there isn’t really anything new or unique to make it really worth dealing with the shortcomings.

There’s no way of skirting the issue – this game is a Zelda clone, through-and-through. From the bombs and arrows to the comically oversized chests you find them in, Oceanhorn is a mere re-skin mod away from being the Zelda release for PC we all so desperately long for. In fact, this may well be the closest we will ever get.

Had it been released as a good sized piece of DLC for Beyond Earth, it might have felt completely different, but as it stands I cannot help but feel a bitter aftertaste in my mouth.

Overall, however, it’s uninspired. It lacks any kind of depth, particularly when fighting without Spellcasters.

Overall Armed Seven is a competent shooter and a good attempt at recapturing some of that old shoot-em-up magic.

Although I appreciate the game for its many merits, I wouldn’t feel comfortable recommending it until the price comes down a bit, but as it does, the likelihood of you regretting the purchase goes down with it.

With other, better platformers out there, it's hard to find a reason to recommend that you spend time with this one.

As it is, The Dark Stone is a completely uncomplimentary mix of basic literary conventions and obnoxiously bleeping “level-up” screens.

I may have failed beautifully in managing my city, but Cities: Skylines allows me to create a vast, complex ecosystem of a city that I can call my own, and it does so with style and grace.

LA Cops is a heap of fun. And although the missions are all somewhat similar, they are a joy to complete.

Ultimately Oscura’s light is, I think, destined to fade into the darkness of forgotten platformers.

Playing the remastered Homeworlds is a trip through memory lane. Carried by the original’s fantastic story, the series has been restored to the point that it feels and plays like a brand new game.

There’s nothing particularly new about the concept, but the realisation is very good. The controls could have used some extra work and the story might have been a bit more complex, but these are minor complaints in a game like this.

Aaru’s Awakening could have used a couple of more months in the oven to tweak and test the controls and pace of the game. Who knows, if it’s well supported, those tweaks might be coming and they might actually improve the experience.

Raven's Cry encompasses a great idea, and it certainly looks nice until things are in motion, when they immediately start falling apart.

A combination of simple gameplay options, a completely dead community days after release, and infuriatingly repetitive visuals and audio make this a game not worth your time or money.
