Granblue Fantasy Relink is a more than remarkable action JRPG that makes clear the potential of this franchise in the world of video games. A very addictive gameplay, a deep progression system and a spectacular artistic design are its best assets. Only an excessive repetition in the missions can detract from the experience.

Although it is missing two key pieces to be the "definitive version", Persona 3 Reload modernizes a classic until it is at the level of today's great RPGs and includes enough new features to once again tempt those who already knew it. The best of both worlds, as they say.

Palworld is an entertaining game if you connect with its survival and monster-catching mechanics, and its gameplay loop. But, at the same time, it's easy to feel that it's not original, that it doesn't do anything you haven't seen before, and that it crosses some red lines by drawing inspiration from certain games. It could be the best game in the series and that's a lot to say. An intense, remarkable experience that will move you, no matter what.

Tekken 8 offers a successful update to the formula of the franchise by showing a powerful performance and an array of game modes that satisfy both expert players and newcomers.

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy is a very good compilation of Ace Attorney games 4, 5 and 6 (also with Phoenix Wright), with improvements that were not in the previous remastered trilogy. That said, all the games in the series are almost identical: to know if you like them, try the first ones first and then finish the story with this one.

Without being a perfect compilation, Another Code: Recollection updates two memorable adventures that fans of the genre in the strict sense of the word will like, one of those in which exploration and puzzles are the protagonists, although at times it almost seems more of a novel visual.

The great values of this remastering are the No Return mode, which highlights (even more) how brilliant its gameplay is, and all the light that the extras shed on the development of a work of this magnitude. The graphical improvement is still a tune-up for PS5, but for that upgrade price "I assure you I would do it again."

Prince of Persia returns in style with an exceptional adventure that excels in everything it sets out to do, that does everything so well that it is difficult to find fault with it and that you never want it to end. After many years missing, the Prince has returned, but he has returned as the king of action and platform games.

World of Horror is not a game for all horror lovers, because of its 80's style of text based adventure game. But if you connect with its formula, with its roguelite touches, its turn-based combat and its visuals, then get ready to have a great time. Too bad it does not squeeze all the options offered by Nintendo Switch.

The indigo disk is the main dish of The hidden treasure or Area Zero: a great expansion with quality content, lots of new things and a ton of hours to play.

Cookie Cutter is not just another metroidvania. Like so many others, it manages to find its place with its own ideas and aesthetics, that doesn't "hold back" and lets its gore and hyperviolent touch flow, with a macabre and punk humor. Too bad that some aspects need a little polishing, because it is fun and manages to catch.

A good roguelite where the action and premise are the highlights, but falls behind the best of the genre. Nevertheless, if you like action platformers and are looking for a new roguelite to obsess for dozens of hours... You just found it.

It's not the best fighting game of the year (there's too many great rivals), but it sure is a safe bet for those who want a great looking, accessible game.

Echoes of the Fallen is another dose of more Final Fantasy XVI. It's not a game changer and it's very short, but if you liked the main game, here you will find an extra chapter with the same level of spectacle and epicness.

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince has a deep combat and monster breeding system that can be addictive if you are willing to overlook the very low quality of nearly everythin else: graphics, sound, story, game loop... Only recommended for those looking for an alternative to Pokémon.

Arizona Sunshine 2 convinces with its brainless action, its silly humor and the relationship between Buddy and the protagonist. It may not innovate and have technical flaws; even you can have seen all its tricks in other games, but what it does, it does in a very entertaining way: it's almost impossible to get bored with it.

Frontiers of Pandora is by no means a groundbreaking game (at least gameplay-wise), but its amazing representation of this universe will surprise you many times over.

Despite our initial doubts and a somewhat clumsy start, AC Nexus manages to gradually win over the player with a very careful setting and an adventurous aspect that works very well in virtual reality.

Born of Bread is a perfectly baked RPG, fun and enjoyable from beginning to end. And even if it's not a milestone for the genre, who can resist a good loaf just out of the oven?

Without doing anything new, Tevi is convincing in its proposal: a metroidvania with role-playing touches, bullet hell and even "souslike" (yes, its difficult and you can make it even harder). Once you bite the fishhook and start to play, it will become harder to go away.

Astlibra Revision is a modern classic with a perfect balance between action and role-playing elements. There's some areas where you can clearly see that this is the work of a single person, but when you put everything on the scales, the ups weigh way more than the downs. If you miss the style and form of the old, classic JRPGs, this is a must have.

The combined chakra of the impressive cast of playable characters can't hide that the story modes in Naruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections are vey lackluster, falling far from being the ultimate game in the Storm series.

In a year as saturated with great games as 2023, Worldless represents one of its latest surprises, a metroidvania that manages to conquer the player with its original combat system and a minimalist aesthetic that fits perfectly. Undoubtedly, a great presentation work for Noname Studios.

Astral Ascent is one of the best roguelites we've had recently. Its gameplay, design and art form a brilliant constellation that forges an identity of its own. We miss some more value in terms of innovation, but even with that "problem", Hibernian Workshop establishes itself as an indie reference with this game.

A game as legendary as Flashback deserves a better sequel than this one. Yes, it has some good ideas and shows passion for science-fiction, but it delivers a poor technical optimization and a lackluster game design.

It's a shame it doesn't have more personality, because under all those borrowed ideas there's a really solid metroidvania and an engaging soulslike that fans of both genres will surely love.

Super Mario RPG is the perfect combination of the role of the classic Final Fantasy and the wealth of originality and sense of humor of the Mario games. As a remake it falls somewhat short, but for us, who were not able to play it in its original version, it is quite a gift.
