Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn is a solid expansion that reminds us why this game was one of the best of 2021. However, the lack of playable novelties and a marked continuity may disappoint those looking for something new. Its story is remarkable, but we're still missing the refreshing factor that the base game presented.

EA Sports WRC is a rally simulator with tons of content and modes, but it leaves an irregular sensation. Many modes and options feel half-baked, as if they don't give everything they could, while the technical side doesn't take advantage of the current systems, as well as presenting flaws.

Don't try to compare this game with any other. Air Twister is an unique piece, the product of the whim of a genious mind. If you manage to connect with it, your imagination will fly free. If you don't... Well, at least you'll have seen an elephant fly.

Considered inside the long trajectory of the Yakuza franchise, this is a secondary chapter, as you can see in the digital format, the length or the mechanics, but it works really well as a bridge between the game from 2020 and the game that will be released in 2024. Few games can compute with this one in terms of script, characters, minigames...

The Invincible is a walking simulator that, starting from a good story, fails to adapt it to a video game in a satisfactory way. It's a slow game, with accessory and sometimes unnecessary mechanics that at times feels more like a visual novel with playable "globs". And it's a shame, because there was potential in its atmosphere.

It's by no means the shooter of the year, but it offers a "je ne sais quoi", a warm feeling of nostalgia that will please the fans of those bombastic 80s movies.

WarioWare: Move It! recovers the crazy and irreverent essence of the series with a new installment that places the entire weight of the gameplay in the JoyCon, and the absurd poses, with good results. Add boring multiplayer modes, from Story mode to various cooperative and competitive experiences, and you have pure FUN.

Jusant is one of the most charismatic games of the year. It offers a quiet but increasingly interesting experience. It's ideal to escape from the noise of big budget productions and letting yourself be surprised with every step.

Song of Nunu awakens the child in us with a classic narrative adventure that does not innovate in the gameplay, but that manages to catch us thanks to the charisma of its characters and an emotional and effective story. Its excessive simplicity hinders the result, but makes it an ideal game for the youngest of the house.

EA Sports UFC 5 is a great fighting game that recreates this successful competition like never before, both its staging and its most beastly side thanks to a spectacular damage system and great modeling of the fighters. Although it is a continuist game in some aspects (game modes, etc.), the online career is one of its great successes.

Alan Wake 2 is a brilliant survival horror that combines the surrealism of Twin Peaks, the investigations of True Detective and the paranormal elements of the SCP Foundation, but it is also the new graphical ceiling of the generation. And above all, it's a Remedy game; and it is glorious.

Dave the Diver is one of the best indie games of 2023, simple as that. Not only is it tremendously fun and original, but it is also long, it also is very impressive in audiovisual side, and the developers keep adding new content. And, on top of that, it exudes a sympathy that is hard to see nowadays.

Having this games on modern platforms is fantastic and yes, they still are masterpieces that we would recommend without a doubt. But a series as legendary as Metal Gear deserves something more than just a collection without any substantial improvements.

Ghostrunner 2 demands the reflexes of a speedrunner, the skill of a no-hitter and the patience of a Buddhist Monk. The difficulty might be too much for some people, but if you like this kind of challenge, here you will find an adrenaline injection enjoyable to the end.

City Skylines 2 is a great management and city creation game, with a bright future ahead thanks to updates, mods and user-created content. It already has a wide range of interesting options, although the whole is weighed down by a poor optimization that still needs a little time to fully deploy its potential.

Gargoyles Remastered is a decent enough remaster of a Sega Genesis classic (unreleased in Europe) that goes beyond the typical Disney Classic by updating graphics and sound... but nothing else: the gameplay is as rough as it was in 1995, and without extras or art galleries, the whole package feels very lackluster.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder is not only a breath of fresh air for 2D platforms, it is a master class in how to update a game concept that has triumphed for more than three decades, and do so successfully, without losing the essence. A surprising platformer where the unexpected is the true star.

Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 Turbocharged is not a must-buy sequel for those who enjoyed the first game, but it has certainly managed to add enough incentives to round off an arcade formula that is as fun as it is inspiring. This is a more complete game, better planned in its progression and with a lot of content.

Insomniac dresses Marvel's Spider-Man 2 in the black suit, improving to the extreme all the mechanics of the previous titles and adding new features that work in perfect symbiosis. The result is a rounded adventure that swings to the top and hits the ceiling of superhero games... And a dream for any Spider-Man fan.

Very good move by a Sonic Team that has managed to offer the sensations that veteran fans wanted, but with modern incentives and features. It shines almost as much as a Chaos Emerald.

Lords of the Fallen has plenty of problems, but we loved the combination of the same old soulslike formula with something as unique and interesting as the "double world" exploration. If they manage to fix some (if not all) of the problems, this might be one of the hidden gems of 2023... and one of the best soulslike of recent memory.

If you're looking for a strong challenge, you won't find any in here, but if you have toddlers at home or you just want to dive in Pokemon world without major headaches, this game will please you as much as a nice cup of coffee.

It's not the biggest or most spectacular game in the series, but it doesn't pretend to be that way either. If you want nostalgia for times gone by with a technical touch of present times, here you can enjoy it in style without having to connect to the Animus.

As Aston Martin did at the beginning of the season in Formula 1, Turn 10 Studios has made a clean slate and created a car with a very promising future. Due to its game-as-a-service nature, there is room for improvement, but Forza Motorsport is an impressive driving simulator that also adapts to all types of audiences.

Like Jeppe Carlsen's previous games, Cocoon is a special title, a wonderful little puzzle adventure that plays with original concepts and ideas. It may be short, it may leave you wanting more... but it is one of those indie games that, as soon as you are attracted to the genre, you have to play it no matter what.

If you ever dreamed with a game adaptation of "The Adventures of Fly", Infinity Strash: Dragon Quest The Adventure of Dai might scratch that itch... But don't go expecting something with the same level of quality and magic of a true Dragon Quest game.

Baten Kaitos I & II HD Remaster is a great opportunity to discover, or replay, two role-playing gems from the GameCube era. Although the visual improvement is evident, Bandai Namco could have done more, as translating Baten Kaitos Origins or polishing the technical hiccups. Even with that, both are great adventures, with a great combat system.

Sure, it's remarkably similar to the base game in many ways, but Ada's adventure finds its own course, one that enriches the core experience and offers some explosive, remarkable fights.
