The greatest strength of Venice After Dark lies in its art style, its cast of eccentric characters and its delightfully quirky atmosphere; the plot is engaging, but is unlikely to be particularly memorable. Unfortunately, devotees of old-school adventure games may be disappointed by the game's difficulty level.

Cralon is a truly clunky game, and its few merits will only be appreciated by the most die-hard fans of dungeon crawlers – those who aren’t put off by the clumsy combat, numerous glitches or the very limited variety of enemies. The debut from the new studio founded by the co-creators of Gothic is a disappointment.

At the start of its early access run, Masters of Albion shows no signs of reinventing the god simulator genre – because it doesn’t even come close to that subgenre; it merely pretends id does. It’s just a run-of-the-mill game: colourful and pretty, with an exciting building system and a story you can play through. And that’s about it, because the rest is either in its infancy or simply not very interesting.

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream has all the charm of the original Tomodachi Life. Thanks to the quality-of-life improvements and creative tools introduced, we have more control over our island than ever before. Unfortunately, the game also takes quite a few steps backwards, preventing it from reaching the full potential of the franchise. Although it left me slightly disappointed in places, the expansion of the core mechanics ultimately still makes it a better game than the original.

The key factor in Replaced is whether you’ll be captivated by the visuals and immersed in the cyberpunk universe enough for them to push you forward despite the setbacks – and there are plenty of those, as the repetitive combat and unresponsive controls in the platforming sections can really try your patience. Ultimately, this is a game that’s better to look at than to play.

After all these hours in Crimson Desert, it feels like the charm of this world is so powerful that, despite everything, it’s hard not to be drawn in. Poorly designed quests, a shallow storyline and various shortcomings don’t really bother you that much when weighed against the sheer ocean of possibilities the game offers. Crimson Desert is a game that is difficult to judge conclusively – it has plenty of strengths, many flaws, yet it is definitely not a game you can simply ignore.

Legacy of Kain: Ascendance is a chaotic mishmash of varying aesthetics and styles – a decent side-scroller wrapped up in a storyline that leaves a bad taste in my mouth and feels out of place within the series’ legacy. The enjoyable soundtrack and the final (?) return of Kain and Raziel aren’t enough for me to recommend this game.

For fans of Max and Chloe, this is a game you can't miss – Life is Strange: Reunion features great dialogue and does a fine job of tugging at the heartstrings, providing a fitting conclusion to the protagonists' story. However, the short development cycle and limited budget have left their mark on the game, and the gameplay can feel a bit too hand-holding at times.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park is a collection of new features, both big and small, that make this brilliant game even more complete. Dragon Quest VII Reimagined is a well-done remake of the classic JRPG. The fantastical journey through time to save magical islands may seem a bit naive, but that's not a bad thing if you ask me. Midnight is a solid but safe follow-up to the direction set by recent WoW expansions. Blizzard is not trying to revolutionise the game, but instead is developing existing ideas and focusing on greater accessibility. The result is an expansion that impresses with its setting and several systems, but at the same time feels unfinished and, in places, too cautious. If you enjoyed the last few years of WoW, you will be satisfied, although the full potential of this expansion will only be revealed with subsequent updates.

At the start of its journey, Marathon is a game whose bold artistic style sometimes overshadows its best features: excellent shooting and a satisfying progression model. It is an interesting alternative in the extraction shooter genre for well-coordinated teams of three who are not afraid of brutal combat and grind. Unfortunately, the flashy, confusing interface and lack of a useful introduction to the gameplay may be enough to put some players off.

Reanimal is a very cinematic experience, in which platform and co-op mechanics are simply an addition. The leap that the NiOh series has made from game to game bodes well for the future. NiOh 3 can already compete with the best representatives of the soulslike genre. The exploration itself may not yet have that sense of wonder that was present in Elden Ring, and the recycling of enemies is a bit of a nuisance, but I consider NiOh 3 to be the best instalment in the series, and its heart, the combat system, really shines here.

Ultimately, Battlefield 6 is simply a really, really good entry in the series. Not as good as Battlefield 4 , but definitely the best in years. It already makes me want to play match after match and unlock every available weapon and attachment, and I think that feeling will only intensify as the game develops. The somewhat reduced scale and increased emphasis on infantry might seem controversial, but ultimately, it's still incredibly addictive. And who knows, maybe we'll get larger maps focused on tank battles in the future? However, such speculation aside, Battlefield 6 is already a game worth recommending upon release. No other game on the market offers this kind of experience, and here most of the gameplay elements have been meticulously crafted. There’s quite a lot of things that are not perfect in Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii – a short and unevenly paced story is one of them. Fortunately, there’s so much good stuff that it balances out. Combat, naval battles, absurdly funny side quests and a unique atmosphere of “contemporary piracy” are fun enough to make Like a Dragon fans feel at home.

Avowed is a great RPG, it’s as simple as that. This game made me forget about mediocre The Outer Worlds and refueled my trust for Obsidian. Their new game, though smaller in scope and not without some rough edges, is full of all the things that made New Vegas, Pillars of Eternity or Tyranny so good. For fans of a more classic approach to RPG, it's a must-see.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 isn't a game that should attract every kind of player, but even though you might have avoided the first part for whatever reason, you definitely should give the sequel a chance. It is a much more spectacular, bigger in every way mega-game that stands out from its peers.

Civilization 7 is a very pretty and very chaoitc game. Brave but not thought out. It introduces changes that aren’t inherently bad, and they build an interesting foundation for a probably great game in the future. Unfortunately now we got an early access production for a premium access price.

The new Indiana Jones is a game that would rock my world in 2014. Today it’s a game that struggles technologically (Uncharted 4 looks better) and gameplay-wise, with some additional issues. Still, I can’t help but like this game. I see all the flaws (some were really irritating), but I liked the puzzles, the protagonist and some very cool scenes. I had a lot of fun, and my main issue – regarding the immersion-breaking AI – is very personal.

Metaphor: ReFantazio is a very good RPG with great gameplay and a superbly constructed world. But it's important to remember that it's a fairy tale - then the convention adopted won't be so glaring. Maybe I myself subconsciously fell into the trap of constantly referring to Persona? Because of this, it's a little difficult for me to talk about a groundbreaking work of art, but only about a truly unconventional game. Check it out for yourself.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is an unique feat of engineering with elements of a game. We get another graphical revolution that – as revolutions tend to do – is quite bumpy. But at the same time it allows you to feel like a professional pilot or simply have fun by flying directly over your house.

I was irritated by many things while playing Farming Simulator 25. Still, this is the best game in the series this far and a great foundation for future updates from the community – as long as the developers keep hearing what fans have to say.

STALKER 2 did not manage to scare me off, despite many issues. The technical bugs couldn’t fight the magic of this game. It shows perfectly how hard it is to give a one, final note – both high and low notes can be justified with many arguments. It all boils down to: how much can you forgive for the opportunity to dive into the Zone?

Black Ops 6 makes up for the disaster that was last year's Call of Duty. Almost everything works here - the game is pretty, the campaign has some surprises, and omnimovement makes multiplayer feel fresh. This installment joins the best CoDs on the new engine (Modern Warfare 2019 and Cold War). But please fix the launcher!

A classic platformer with great levels and a cranked-up level of difficulty works great as a representative of the genre, but I'm not sure it has stood the test of time well enough to conquer the market today.

I'm incredibly glad that Brothership was made, and despite its unimpressive beginning, I don't regret a single moment spent with the title (apart from the optional volleyball minigame on the first ocean, but I'm guilty of that suffering myself). I wish interested readers a happy trip to Concordia and I hope you finish the first sea as soon as possible.

A brilliantly directed interactive film awaits you, with an engaging and often surprising plot, a galaxy of expressive characters whose fates you will sincerely care about, and excellent audiovisual setting. If you like to explore and “max out”, you will also find a lot of side content to discover here (I estimate the whole thing at a minimum of 15-20 hours of play). Just don’t expect mind-stimulating puzzles, difficult moral choices, “brain-scraping” or a reunion with Chloe, and everything will be fine.

Veilguard is easily the best game BioWare has released since Mass Effect 3 – it has a better story and gameplay design than Inquisition (which I found mediocre at best) and is a better game than Andromeda in every way ( I won't even mention Anthem ). But what used to impress me now just seems good – maybe I've changed, maybe other developers set the bar too high. Maybe the students have surpassed the master; maybe that's just the way it has to be.

Developers of MechWarrior 5: Clans know their limitations and skills, and don't cram unnecessary elements into the game. Instead they focus only on the things they know they can deliver. Clans has the best story in the history of the series, and gameplay-wise it's like an upgraded Mercenaries. Christmas came early for true MechWarrior fans.

Super Mario Patry Jamboree is the best installment in the series. I'm writing this review between levels, and I can't wait to jump into another one. I'm certain that with a steep decline of the amount of party games, this one will stand out and become as popular as it deserves.

Games like The Witcher 3, Cyberpunk 2077 or even Skyrim introduced lots of new, high quality content with their respective expansions. Shattered Space was supposed to be one of such add-ons - after a bumpy debut of Starfield, Bethesda surely would deliver something really good. Sadly, this is not the case.

Despite some issues (jamming MMO into the gameplay, uneven campaign, some technical issues) I had fun for most of the time. It's mostly due to evolution and upgrades from all the seasons, but Vessel of Hatred introduces a solid amount of good stuff. Still, it will not cure all Diablo 4's ailments - you have to wait for updates and fixes.

As a regular representative of the genre the new Silent Hill 2 is quite good, and should deliver lots of fun to gamers that like this kind of games. But as a remake of one of the most important horror games in history this new version looks extremely mediocre, which in my eyes is a greater crime than making a simply bad game.

I'm certain that many fans of Civilization will quickly abandon playing ARA: History Untold. No Civ demands such careful consideration of the smallest details and micro-dependencies from the player. You need to ask yourself: do you want to conquer lands or manage the production of cement and ploughs? If the latter sounds interesting, you're right where you need to be.

63 Days brings out mixed emotions. On one hand I was tired and irritated with bugs and gameplay solutions, on the other - I cared for the characters, and a terrifying and suggestive war-torn Warsaw made me want to check out every corner of the map. In a very small niche of games about the Warsaw Uprising this is quite good. But when you look at 63 Days as a regular game, then you'll see that others did the same thing much better.
