Surely a game that’s looking over at its anime stablemate green with envy, Knights of Britannia commits the sin of sloth, and ultimately lacks pride.- God is a Geek

Given that the PS4 version is 1080p 60fps, I wasn’t really shocked to see this half the frame rate but what impressed me a lot is how well it runs and how good it looks on the Switch. There’s a demo you can check out for an idea of the performance but with the latest patch allowing for no save overwriting, Nine Parchments on Switch is an easy recommendation for a co-op game.- God is a Geek

The combination of 2D gameplay with 3D objects and some voxel based items and power ups seems like a blend of distinct styles waiting to go wrong but it works well and runs great. Some of the in game spoken commentary as you’re taking down loads of enemies and the rescuing people aspect reminds me of Resogun. Sky Force Reloaded isn’t the best shmup on the Switch but it is a very nice port of a good game.- God is a Geek

The thing is, what Dissidia NT does do well is hamstring itself from actually being good. A good fighting mechanic can only carry a game so far, outfitting the game with so little in the way of modes to actually experience is bad enough, but to then completely lock away a staple mode of fighting games to force people to repeat play stagnant modes is practically unforgivable, especially for a story based franchise like Final Fantasy.- God is a Geek

The Switch port is great in handheld mode. In fact, that seems to be a trend with many indie releases where they focus on the handheld aspect and the docked output is sub native. Volgarr could look sharper docked but there hasn’t been a patch to address this since launch. On handheld it looks great and plays well. Volgarr in general feels like a recreation of a very old game with some modern mechanics added for a fun experience. It will take you a ton of effort to get the best ending though.- God is a Geek
