The Precinct is a bit of a disappointment, even if it survives with a passing grade. Aesthetically pleasing, not a complete failure, but generally banal both in terms of how it is played and how it was conceived. An indie game lacking in ideas and programmed superficially, but disguised with pleasant graphics that hide its flaws. It is not completely bad, but it will hardly be remembered.- Gamesurf

DOOM: The Dark Ages is a bold, successful reinvention blending dark fantasy and sci-fi, offering a unique experience. Gameplay innovations like the versatile shield and "stand and fight" add tactical depth while keeping the signature frenzy. Despite minor flaws, expanded environments and deeper progression create a rich, accessible journey that evolves the series while staying true to its brutal core.- Gamesurf

No, it’s not just a “nostalgia effect”: Amerzone: The Explorer’s Legacy was a great game, and the careful work by Microids to make it enjoyable again after 25 long years allows us players to experience a great adventure once more, while also paying a fitting tribute to an unforgettable genius like Benoît Sokal. A classic point-and-click adventure with a captivating atmosphere and intriguing situations, Amerzone: The Explorer’s Legacy improves in every aspect: length, technical impact, and even the number and quality of puzzles, all while offering a more user-friendly gameplay experience. It might not be very difficult, and its longevity isn’t the best—not to mention the inability to change the diary font—but Amerzone: The Explorer’s Legacy is not just a revival of an old title. It’s a remake that deserves to be played by both new and veteran gaming explorers.- Gamesurf

Spirit of the North 2 is both a "more of the same" of the first chapter and a missed opportunity for the development team to take flight with a superior quality product. The Lore and the game-design are amazing, this is undeniable, but the technical problems and the superficiality in the interface make the gameplay difficult and cumbersome, preventing us from giving him a higher than sufficient rating. And it's honestly a shame...- Gamesurf

Paradoxically, this Remastered version of Days Gone seems more aimed at die-hard fans of the original than at newcomers. Bend Studio’s work once again falls into the same mistakes of the past, placing greater emphasis and polish on what are essentially secondary aspects of a game that almost seems to hide its best qualities beneath an imposing, yet fragile, exterior. There are technical improvements—lighting above all—but some are barely noticeable or simply not enough to truly capture the attention of more discerning players.- Gamesurf

Alaloth: Champions of The Four Kingdoms is a bold, heartfelt tribute to classic isometric action-RPGs. Its souls-like combat demands dedication and strategic planning, while the open world of Plamen delivers dozens of hours of dungeons, lore, and emergent surprises. Minor technical rough edges and a steep learning curve do little to diminish its retro spirit or solid PC performance. A must-play for fans of challenging, old-school RPG adventures.- Gamesurf

As precise as a flying lap from Marc Marquez, MotoGP 25 hits the track right on schedule, ready to excite motorcycle racing enthusiasts and faithfully recreate the world championship experience. While the foundation remains familiar, noticeable improvements have been made, particularly in the handling of Moto3 and Moto2 bikes, along with a refined visual presentation thanks to Unreal Engine 5 and a series of minor new features. The AI performs reliably, and the management of race penalties is accurate and timely, with MotoGP 25 taking another step forward without disrupting the strong groundwork laid by its predecessors. Some flaws persist, however: replays remain limited, now allowing viewers to watch only about ten laps, an even greater restriction compared to last year. Additionally, the inability to customize the use of rewinds remains an issue, and on PlayStation 5, the use of adaptive triggers feels less immersive than before. It remains to be seen whether future patches might address these shortcomings and rebalance rider performance to further enhance the experience — potentially raising the overall score by half a point. Nonetheless, MotoGP 25 confirms itself as a consistently engaging and high-quality title.- Gamesurf

Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days is an ambitious survival management game, already solid in its structure but still in development. The atmosphere is well-crafted, the tension constant, and every choice has real consequences. If you enjoy games where time is your enemy and survival requires careful planning, give it a shot. But remember: it's in early access. Consider your options carefully and keep an eye on the official update roadmap. [Early Access Review]- Gamesurf

While Oblivion may not be the best Elder Scrolls game, it still packs a punch in 2025. Despite being a product of its time, it remains a thoroughly enjoyable experience—even with its original quirks and the occasional early-era bug. This is a game worth buying, if only for the joy of embarking on a long and wondrous journey through lands and characters you'll remember for years to come. A piece of gaming history that shouldn't be left behind—and likely a must-play if you've never experienced it before.- Gamesurf

Bionic Bay is hardcore as it is intended to be: minimal graphics, a system full of randomness, progressively increasing difficulty and a lot of frustration that will take you away from the screen just enough to make you return a few hours later more motivated than before. It is not a game to be taken lightly and is definitely worth the time you dedicate to it, especially if you want to try online rankings.- Gamesurf

What a surprise Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was! Expectations around Sandfall Interactive's RPG were high, but the end result exceeded all expectations. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33! a solid game, which on the technical side is no match for much richer productions. Gustave's adventure amazes through a mature and adult use of storytelling and thanks to a combat system that mixes turns and real time, then opening up a huge range of strategic possibilities with the introduction of Pictos. From the music to the voice acting, each element plays its own part in the construction of a tragic and fascinating story.- Gamesurf

An inspired and well-crafted presentation, combined with a solid blend of tried-and-true mechanics, makes Steel Seed a visually striking and technically competent package. However, seasoned fans of the genre will quickly spot the cracks in a game that plays it safe and rarely ventures outside its comfort zone. It’s not the next Metal Gear Solid or Metal Gear Rising, but it does its best to merge elements from both worlds, delivering an entertaining and polished experience, though without any standout highs. For fans of stealth and action games, Steel Seed offers a focused, finely tuned adventure that may not break new ground, but hits all the right notes.- Gamesurf

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves "pretends" to be like the other big titles—accessible to everyone—but in reality, it retains the rigidity and complexity of its hardcore nature. This can be either a good or a bad thing; it’s certainly not for those who prefer an easy ride, but for those willing to fully commit, it’s definitely a title that offers fun and a return to the series’ roots.- Gamesurf

This isn’t the game that revolutionizes the genre, but it’s that kind of indie title that could entertain you for the hours needed to complete the main story. Frankly, I had hoped it would be much more, but overall I had fun, and it works well—especially if you lower your expectations a bit. A decent indie that does its job and is worth considering if you enjoy tactical games.- Gamesurf

If you love narrative-driven games and intricate puzzles you piece together one clue at a time, and you’re willing to embrace its roguelite mechanics, Blue Prince will enchant you. Dogubomb has crafted a true indie gem: a brilliant example of clever game design that stands out for its charm and creativity. Every detail feels intentional, with just the right amount of randomness to keep both logic-lovers and casual explorers engaged, though at times, it may push that randomness a bit too far. Is it a masterpiece? Hard to say. But it’s definitely a game you should experience, even if roguelikes aren’t usually your thing, and easily one of the most intriguing titles of early 2025.- Gamesurf

Tempest Rising isn’t just a nostalgic nod to classic RTS—it’s a carefully crafted return to a genre that has long deserved more attention. While the interface can feel clunky at times and the audio design doesn’t quite leave a lasting impression, the overall experience is cohesive and confident. Rather than reinventing the formula, it builds upon a familiar foundation with clarity and intent, delivering a gameplay structure that feels both respectful and relevant. For fans of Red Alert and Tiberian Sun, it offers an instant sense of belonging—grounded, engaging, and refreshingly self-aware.- Gamesurf

Rally Arcade Classics lays its wheels on solid dirt, but the ride isn’t without bumps. The groundwork for a fun and satisfying experience is all there, yet the game struggles to build momentum. Its structure feels sluggish to kick off and somewhat weak in sustaining player engagement over time. Fans of more simulation-heavy rally titles will find plenty to enjoy here: the driving model is sharp and responsive, and there’s a respectable amount of content on offer, bolstered by online leaderboards that add a layer of long-term appeal. However, those approaching it with expectations of a fast-paced, pick-up-and-play arcade racer may find themselves let down. Much of said content demands time and dedication to access, which may not sit well with more action-oriented players.- Gamesurf

Commandos: Origins stays true to the classic formula, updating it with modern mechanics and solid level design. The gameplay is deep and rewarding—especially for players who prefer brains over brute force. However, the lack of cohesive narrative progression, some technical shortcomings, and occasionally unbalanced abilities prevent it from reaching true excellence. A compelling comeback for those seeking challenge and precision, as long as you're patient enough to deal with its rough edges.- Gamesurf

If you own an Xbox or a gaming PC, chances are you haven’t missed the chance to throw on a fedora and leather jacket—whip included—in digital form. But if all you have at home is a PlayStation 5, this is a golden opportunity to experience what’s likely one of the best stories featuring the American archaeologist. IXION is a hardcore game intended for a very specific niche of players and as such it does not shy away from being severe and punitive even at the difficulty recommended for beginners. Milestone’s first steps into the new generation of virtual supercross entertain with an engaging, mostly well-executed, and fun package, though it’s quite challenging at first, and not without flaws. The supporting features in career mode don’t really stand out, and we wouldn’t have minded a few more changing elements to spice things up. The physics engine still needs some tweaking, and performance isn’t as stable as we’d like. That said, a couple of patches could easily fix these issues, and the upcoming new contents promised by the developers should help flesh out a currently underwhelming baseline. If you enjoyed previous entries, the technical improvements and the new sights offered by the updated roster and online championships might push you to try this new episode, while motorcycle enthusiasts could find a new passion in Monster Energy Supercross 25.- Gamesurf

South of Midnight stands out for its setting, artistic design, and storyline, but when you pick up the controller, its weaknesses become apparent due to an extremely derivative gameplay experience that feels all too familiar from many other titles. Compulsion Games poured all its creativity into bringing this deep South of the United States to life, but ultimately delivered a repetitive gameplay system with little to say. I found myself playing through the interactive sections without much enthusiasm, viewing them more as a necessary step to get through as quickly as possible to uncover what the story had to offer. The narrative, however, is crafted with great care and delivers glimpses of “real” lives that are both striking and memorable, just like the mythology built around Hazel’s world. From a technical standpoint, the execution is inconsistent: the audio and soundtrack are excellent, but the graphics exhibit some noticeable rough edges, despite the strong artistic vision. The stop-motion effect (which I recommend disabling), while fascinating, makes everything feel too choppy, and the lack of some frames affects the overall fluiditY….South of Midnight is a good game, more for its story and atmosphere than for its gameplay. While the technical limitations may be attributed to a modest budget, the gameplay choices feel overly safe, ultimately holding back the ambitions of a title that had the potential to deliver more—though it remains an enjoyable experience.- Gamesurf

Koira is pure poetry. Studio Tolima’s debut title is a perfect introduction, showcasing the creative talents of the developers. With an outstanding artistic direction and the brilliant choice of using music as a universal language, Koira delivers a truly unique and immersive experience. The journey home with your little pup is filled with challenges, but between breathtaking landscapes and mysteries to uncover, the game offers plenty of moments to relax and play with your loyal companion. Its short yet impactful duration keeps it engaging from start to finish, ensuring players can fully embrace its beautifully told story. Dive into Koira and let yourself be enchanted.- Gamesurf

The heroine of this fantasy video game is not a legendary warrior forged in the fire of a thousand battles, but a young adult facing an existential crisis, dressed casually and wielding a sword made in China. The setting is not a mythical land, but an ordinary vacation spot. Dungeons of Hinterberg blends magic and everyday life in a mix that offers some good ideas, though not fully realized. Behind this facade lies an action/adventure game that aims to entertain with varied gameplay—and it succeeds, as long as you don’t expect too much.- Gamesurf

Talking about MLB The Show 25 means discussing yet another excellent installment of a franchise that stands as a true benchmark for all baseball enthusiasts. A vast array of playable modes blends with a more than solid technical department, featuring gameplay that improves year after year and offers extensive customization, making MLB The Show 25 perfect for both newcomers and seasoned players alike. Applause for the gameplay, which allows for a seamless transition from an arcade style to a more simulation-oriented approach, maintaining high standards in both cases. Perhaps the player models could have been updated, but the overall visual quality remains impressive. The only real flaw I encountered was lag in online matches, likely due to the fact that I was always playing against overseas opponents. That said, once again, there’s only one thing left to say: MLB The Show 25 hits a massive home run.- Gamesurf

Dollhouse: Behind the Broken Mirror is a product a half-step below failing, demonstrating how little has been learned from the previous experience, and even less has been decided to improve. Lacking an engaging story, despite the interesting premises, with forgettable gameplay and especially gunplay, exploration reduced to the bone, and the threats posed by the dolls that, before too long, cease to have the scary effect they should have, the game drags us into its confused spiral for several hours, at the end of which we are left empty-handed, wondering what exactly happened.- Gamesurf
