This title isn’t for the new gamer. It’s for someone with experience and knowledge; someone who is willing to put in work to reach the conclusion. If you’re looking for an easy game where you can simply hack and slash your way to victory, Resolutiion isn’t for you. But if you’re up for a challenging adventure to call your own, this could be it. As unforgiving as it is, Resolutiion is beautiful, fun and intriguing – and getting to grips with its mesmerising world is a reward in itself.- GameSpew

Thanks to the introduction of FC IQ, the on-pitch action in EA Sports FC 25 is more dynamic and authentic than ever before. And while most other changes are small, the replacement of Volta with Rush, a 5v5 match type that is accessible in most game modes, makes this a worthy upgrade from last year's release overall.- GameSpew

Thanks to the change in genre, some fans of the original Valfaris might not get on all that well with this sequel. Being a side-scrolling shooter, no longer can players control the pace or take time to explore. Those who mostly charmed by the game’s metal-themed visuals and head-banging soundtrack, however, will be similarly won over by Valfaris: Mecha Therion. This is a fantastic shooter that never lets up. And thanks to its varied arsenal and upgrade options, you’ll likely return to it time and time again.- GameSpew

For fans of the likes of Vampire Survivors, there's an awful lot to like here. Soulstone Survivors not only looks fantastic, but it packs in a lot of content. It is, in essence, a game about golf that is as true to the sport as can be. Sure, it may be a sport for the rich and aristocratic among us, but in the virtual world of The Golf Club 2019, we can all experience a little bit of the competitive high life. It may not land an ace, but it’s still plenty under par.- GameSpew

As Rogue-likes go, Curse of the Dead Gods is up there with the best of them. It’s got brilliant combat, dastardly traps to overcome if you want their riches, and numerous unique systems layered on top that add considerable depth. With the prospect of death (or at least grave misfortune) around every corner, it keeps you on your toes, uncertain of what the future holds. But you’ll find yourself going back time and time again, ever hopeful that soon, the temple that’s been holding you back will be conquered. It’s not for the faint of heart, but Rogue-like fans would be mad to give this the cold shoulder.- GameSpew

Super Rolling Heroes Deluxe is a simple game with a simple premise: roll a spherical alien down a hill to hit a gem at the bottom while avoiding troublesome obstacles. It's challenging by default, especially if you also try to meet optional speed and destruction targets as you go, but thanks to being able to drop down to an easier difficulty level it remains fun for all.- GameSpew

Massive Monster has nailed the concept of DLC with Woolhaven: it gives fans of Cult of the Lamb more of what they love, but with enough of a refresh that it feels notably different. If you’re a tennis fan, this is currently the best tennis game available — no doubts about it. At least on console, anyhow. No other tennis game plays as good as TopSpin 2K25, which somewhat makes up for its downfalls. We can only hope that 2K improves this title post-launch, speeding up career progress, making it easier to play against friends online and making MyCareer accessible even when the servers are down. And when the inevitable sequel arrives, we’ll accept a visual boost and some other upgrades, too.- GameSpew

Small problems aside, I’ve had a great time exploring the post-apocalyptic ruins of Biomutant. The biggest Yakuza game to date, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth certainly doesn’t disappoint. While its story is somewhat hampered by frequent diversions to introduce new mechanics or side-content, there’s still plenty to keep you gripped. And while we have to admit that we enjoy the combat more when it’s action-based, the turn-based system here is entertaining. In any case, Infinite Wealth delivers exactly what you’d expect by now: a lengthy story full of surprising twists and turns that manage to elicit a wide range of emotions, and a ridiculous volume of side content that will keep you playing long after the credits have rolled – or simply delay that from happening.- GameSpew

If you're a long-time Assassin's Creed fan that fondly remembers the early entries of the series, you're likely to love Assassin's Creed Mirage. Those who have found the last trio of entries simply too big will appreciate its sharper focus, too. While it does little to propel the series forward mechanically, it's a return to what made it stand out in the first place: an open world stealth game where hiding in plain sight and making use of your parkour skills is key. Factor in the brilliant setting and some challenging assassination scenarios, and you have a game that pays homage to the series' roots while successfully standing on its own two feet.- GameSpew

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty shares some elements with Team Ninja’s Nioh games, such as randomised loot and challenging combat, but ultimately it feels very much like its own game. It’s faster-paced, has a unique morale system, and pushes players to deflect enemy attacks in order to succeed. Ultimately, the gameplay tweaks found in Judgment manage to successfully differentiate it from the Yakuza series while still retaining the elements that have made it such a hit with fans. Having been away from our consoles for some 14 years, we’re glad that Prince of Persia has made a return. And while we’d welcome another 3D action adventure entry with open arms, Ubisoft’s choice to adopt a 2.5D Metroidvania format for this foray is a shrewd one. With its terrible voice acting and some minor gameplay issues, Dragonkin: The Banished isn't a faultless experience. As far as action RPGs in the vein of Diablo go though, it's one of the best there is, with a fantastic skill system and enjoyable city development.- GameSpew

[Halo Wars] may not be as strong as some other legitimate classics of the genre, or even the franchise it is associated with. However, what it is, undoubtedly, is an underrated game that deserves more attention.- GameSpew

If you’ve been waiting for a racing game that will truly test your abilities on the Switch, this is it. It doesn’t have a massive amount of content or modes, but no other game on Switch provides a similar racing experience. It’s hardcore, immersive, and certainly not an eyesore. TT Isle of Man – Ride on the Edge is undoubtedly the best serious racing game that the Switch has to offer right now.- GameSpew

The type of gameplay that Automachef offers in’t going to be for everyone, but if you enjoy having to flex your brain a little, it offers a rewarding experience. It’s also a great entry point into basic programming. Perhaps playing on PC will offer a more intuitive experience, but the Switch version’s button controls aren’t enough of a barrier to stop Automachef being worthwhile to play.- GameSpew

To me, it speaks volumes that despite pretty much completing Yooka-Laylee on Xbox One, I've felt compelled to play the game on Switch whenever I've had a spare moment. It's had me running around each world, exploring every last nook and cranny for any Pagies that I've missed, and very rarely has it frustrated me like the Xbox One version did. To put it simply, the Switch version of Yooka-Laylee is brilliant, and if you've got room in your life for another 3D platformer alongside Super Mario Odyssey, it's well worth splashing the cash.- GameSpew

There are very few murder mystery games that give you as much agency as Paradise Killer does. Although it takes a little while to get into the swing of things, when you’re deep in your investigation, coming across key pieces of evidence or catching your suspects out in a lie, you feel unstoppable. And having the power to make an accusation, right or wrong, is a very nice touch too. I’d like to see the same gameplay replicated in an experience more grounded in reality, but once you get used to the fact you’re living amongst gods and immortal beings, it’s hard not to love Paradise Killer exactly how it is.- GameSpew

There’s still room for improvement, a Jurassic World Evolution 1.999 by my calculations, but even with its issues, Jurassic World Evolution 2 is a fantastic sim game that’ll have you coming back for more, even when you’ve exhausted its campaign and Chaos Theory mode. It’s an absolute must if you’ve got the remotest interest in Jurassic Park, dinosaurs or unleashing nightmarish giant lizards upon an unsuspecting public.- GameSpew

Everybody’s Golf‘s lack of visual splendour shouldn’t put you off playing what is the most accessible and enjoyable golf game there is on the market though. Creating and developing your own comical golf avatar is wonderfully addictive, and while there are only five courses available, the vast array of gameplay options and features means it’s hard to ever tire of sinking balls until the early hours of the morning, whether online or off. Everybody’s Golf on PlayStation 4 is the best it’s ever been, and that’s all you really need to know.- GameSpew

For fans of the original game, Blue Reflection: Second Light is a must-play, with yet another engrossing story and some meaningful gameplay enhancements. But even those who haven’t played the original may want to delve into this sequel if they’re into emotionally-charged JRPGs that dare to experiment a little. This is a more serious affair from Gust, with some touching moments as pasts are revealed and new relationships are formed. And with its energetic battle system that keeps you on your toes, it’s captivating from beginning to end.- GameSpew

Fear the Spotlight may be brief, but thanks to its tense atmosphere, basic but enjoyable stealth and rewarding puzzles, it keeps you glued to the screen from beginning to end. If you do play it, just make sure you don't overlook the unlockable second story, which is perhaps even better than the first.- GameSpew

If, like me, you’ve been waiting what feels like forever for a new Ridge Racer game to be announced, I really do recommend that you give Hotshot Racing a go. There are some elements of it that don’t quite align with Bandai Namco’s premier arcade racing series, but it lets you get sideways in a range of wonderful locations, and challenges you to carefully use your boost to remain at the front of the pack. I don’t know about you, but that’s something I’ve been craving.- GameSpew

EA Sports F1 24 is undoubtedly the most authentic representation of the sport yet, with stunning visuals and responsive handling. You can play as Icons for the first time in career mode, too. On Switch, Sniper Elite 3: Ultimate Edition is just as good as it’s ever been, which is to say that it’s very good indeed. It looks great, performs well, has plenty of content where it really counts and doesn’t skimp on online multiplayer like so many Switch ports often do.- GameSpew

Those who simply love music rhythm games and haven’t got much experience with the Persona series, though, should probably just dip their toes in with Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight to test the water. And maybe wait for it to go on sale before they do so. No More Heroes fans will absolutely adore No More Heroes 3 – it’s no doubt the best game in the series so far. And while it’s better to go into it with prior knowledge of the series, Switch gamers looking for an action-packed adventure that offers something entirely unique might also want to consider picking it up. Its open world might be a bit sparse, and the activities within it range in quality, but at least the combat is always brilliant. The ranked battles are the real draw here though, as well as the unpredictable gameplay elements they bring with them and the story scenes they’re sandwiched in between. They’ll suck you in and won’t let you go until the credits roll.- GameSpew
