  • Summary: These moronic Terranoids think they can just roll in here and take over my beautiful Tyrythian kingdom? The kingdom that I built from the ground up with my bare hands, and only sort of inherited from my dear, sweet, extremely dead father? This is complete bullsh*t, and I'm going to make them dead.

Earth Must Die revels in its comedic, over-the-top adult sci-fi insanity while delivering a genuinely great adventure game experience starring a power-hungry megalomaniac. Never before has it been so much fun to be the arbiter of your own species’ destruction!

Thanks to a star-studded voice cast, Earth Must Die is a hilarious sci-fi romp that features plenty of laughs and crude jokes. And while its comedy won’t land for everyone, its meticulous and clever design, and stunning cartoon visuals make it an early contender for adventure game of the year.

Earth Must Die is dedicated to fans of classic adventure video games. It is also accessible enough for players who want to see what the genre has to offer. The story feels like a fun and weird science fiction short story, more focused on launching joke salvos than being entirely coherent. The characters and the associated voice work make it worth seeing through. The mechanics are easy to pick up, while the puzzles aren’t egregiously illogical. This is an experience best enjoyed in sessions of around two hours, or shorter if the puzzles become annoying. Earth Must Die is proof that decent writing paired with classic gameplay is still a good combination for modern adventure games.

It's nice to see that British satire doesn't flinch when it comes to dealing with current political developments and if you can stomach the obvious political tongue-in-cheek humor, Earth Must Die is a must play. Believe me when I say that being an incompetent, inconsiderate and oblivious asshole of a leader has never felt better. The WASD controls might be a bit finicky and the dynamic camera can occasionally be a pain in the sphincter, but apart from that, Earth Must Die has my vote of approval.

An inventive puzzler with rapid-fire gags that'll make you groan as much as guffaw.

Earth Must Die presents an intriguing take on the point-and-click genre following a buffoon leader trying to get things his way. Though the jokes may sometimes be crude or hardly interesting, the wacky world and unique characters are enough to keep it an enjoyable journey. The best part, however, is how much of its personality oozes into the gameplay choices, truly representing how VValak acts, thinks and feels in all of its colorful details.

Earth Must Die is a point & click adventure that embodies the worst sins of the genre – the puzzles consist merely of clicking on everything you can interact with, and the story is both sleep-inducing and frustrating at the same time.
