A beautiful and challenging game that gives some extra years to your age. You will hate every group of enemies and love every victory you will reach through blood, tears and sweat.

In the same way I've appraised Anomaly: Warzone Earth with score of eight for its unique approach to a tower defense style, I must highlight Anomaly 2 for taking the idea to perfection. Even with its relatively short gameplay, authors' thoroughness and diligence mirror in their impressive game.

New details, great presentation and more balanced gameplay. F1 2012 is the best Formula One racing game on the market, and it's not because there are no other titles. In short, Codemasters do a good job - they listen to the community, they keep the good stuff in the series, they always get wiser because of their previous mistakes. Throughout the evolution F1 2012 is one step closer to the racing game perfection. However, a revolutionary shift in the genre is still awaited.

This cellar adventure called Legend of Grimrock is like Prince Charming waking up his Sleeping Beauty, hopefully, proving that his charm has not faded away as some people might have thought so. Its scope and its combat system should have been made more complex, however, its fine quality of dungeon design kills all the flaws off.

Warm atmosphere, imaginative environment and sympathetic character interactions. That and much more offers Anna's Quest – a new adventure with old, but mostly good manners.

Pikmin cannot reach the heights of Mario or Zelda, but this truly original, creative and inventive game still plays the best second fiddle around.

If you want to play a truly dark logic 2D platformer - Closure is the one. The game offers fun and satisfying experience worth to try. Even though it doesn't offer the newest technology treatment, frankly, it doesn't matter while playing.

Evolution over revolution. Tails of Iron 2: Whiskers of Winter doesn’t reinvent the wheel but carefully expands on what made the first game great. The sequel is richer, more refined, and offers greater variety. However, a few lingering flaws keep this woodcut-style adventure, reminiscent of Mouse Guard, from reaching the heights of gaming greatness—though it comes very close.

Unexpectedly successful beginning of the adventure mini-series asks for your attention vehemently. You will forgive its unconvincing start quickly because of a great adventure and great storytelling.

A game that is disturbing, charming and full of spirit, all at the same time. It draws from H. P. Lovecraft and does it very well – and it also manages to stay on point, not wasting your time with anything that isn’t needed. You should make the journey, even if there are some blemishes to be found.

A complex, rich game full of secrets and the joy of their discovery. It offers freedom, replayability, difficult yet engaging combat. The passive skills aren’t great and enemies appearing behind your back can get annoying, but there’s only one true drawback: poor optimization.

An excellent return of the series, what declined in recent years. It surprises not only with imaginary intimacy, but also the ability to scare and entertain. While it will lift your eyebrows with its unpractical inventory and slightly moderate visuals, the experience it offers will make up all the flaws.

Good turn-based strategy with the instant real-time mode switch is maybe very similar to the previous parts but still brings enough new features so even the fans of the series will enjoy it. Yet the main hallmark of the game is the impersonated gaming experience - in other words, this game will grab your heart, even though (or because) it's about zombies and often about desperate survival efforts.

This is a fantastic little RPG with great combat and full of beautiful storytelling. It has its flaws, certainly, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it occasionally started to bore you, but it’s still a good way to relax, especially if you’re subscribed to the Game Pass.

Darkest Dungeon 2 is so different from its predecessor. A true roguelike with only one significant problem: The creators should learn how to explain things better. It’s also rather long for the content it provides. But the combat is great, the graphics beautiful, the narrator splendid.

Ubisoft scores with its depressive journey to zombie-infested London. We have to take into account this console because of a combination of slow pace, adrenaline-filled moments, and a unique death and control system proving there are mature games for Wii U.

A sci-fi adventure in which you’re trying to find an alien substance on seemingly abandoned planets. The graphics are amazing, as is the soundtrack and the atmosphere. The puzzles feel akin to escape room games, varied and interactive. And there’s even some shooting!

Stylish and addictive runner game. Super Mario Run is not completely error-free, but those few imperfections are washed away with geyser of perfect ideas, pure joy of movement, and especially the top level design.

A solid expansion that will test even the hardest Doomguys around. It’s almost the same as the basic game, with one exception: It’s even harder. And, regretfully, the music isn’t as amazing as before.

A brilliant story-driven adventure bordering on a visual novel. It’s excellent at setting up its world and characters, the mysteries are compelling, the voice acting very good and the story explodes into a stunning finale. But it’s also a very repetitive game which doesn’t respect the player’s time. And there are a few too many sexual innuendos.

Chessarama borrows time-tested systems from centuries ago, using them to craft refreshing, inventive, and visually appealing puzzles. These challenges compel chess enthusiasts to contemplate the game in a slightly different manner, while newcomers might find themselves drawn to a new hobby. It's not a game you finish and set aside in an hour because it's brimming with content and is so addictive that it pleasantly robs you of many late evenings.

Are you ready to figure out the very limits of your adrenaline tolerance? Then play Ghostrunner, a devilishly difficult action game let down only by its slower platforming portions.

A bit of a surprise, this one, a full-blooded space shooter that could sometimes throw a bit less at you but in the end stays fun and engaging. What a debut for the inexperienced team!

Those spinning arcade tires have begun to smell originally and brazenly, which is pleasant. Surprisingly, Rivals brings many innovations and a lot of fun into the Need for Speed series. Its multiplayer game system called AllDrive is like a whole revolution. Shame there are some notorious bugs in it.

Another addition to the series of legal detective stories. Very solid game with the established pattern boosted by several pleasant news.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes didn't step out of the Lego specimen, which, however, does not prevent it to offer a splendid gaming experience, especially in its cooperative multiplayer game. Moreover, this is one of the best games out there you may leave to your children without any concern.

F1 25 is a worthy evolution that once again pushes the virtual Formula 1 experience forward. It strikes a fine balance between accessibility for newcomers and depth for veteran fans, offering an authentic sense of racing and team management. The driving model is more advanced, the My Team mode more robust, and the race atmosphere superb. While there are no major weaknesses, the lack of significant technical leaps, only slightly improved visuals, and lingering minor AI and presentation quirks make this a "better" rather than a "revolutionary" entry. Still, it firmly remains one of the best racing games on the market.

No great surprises here - the new Pokémon RPG again offers dozens of hours of good, predictable fun. The database is smaller and the graphics don’t look all that impressive, but the core experience was upgraded in several useful ways.

A solid remaster that skillfully and respectfully enhances nearly every visual element of the original game. Whether it was truly necessary remains up for debate, but this is no cheap cash grab. Horizon Zero Dawn: Remastered is a well-crafted effort through and through.

Beautiful colorful experience with a solid gameplay, whose playing warms the heart and return you to a time when fairy tales and crayons were everything you needed to be happy.

A feast for your eyes and ears that will satisfy you with fun physics and a touch of the supernatural. The story could be a bit better, the metroidvania features are surplus to requirements and some side missions are a drag, but the atmosphere is top notch - and the gameplay doesn’t lag far behind.

Still There is an unassuming little game with the potential to completely overwhelm you. You will laugh with it, marvel at its plot twists and despair at the fate of ordinary people. This emotional experience is further underscored by great music and beautiful visuals. The only possible rebuke? The puzzles are a tad more difficult than they should be.

A ghost ship, an unpredictable script and non-linear gameplay. This interactive horror will show you that fear can be an art.

A slap in the face to all action oriented games. Solar 2 is a miraculously calm but addictive game which radiates seducing serenity and invites you to come to a cosmos, where you (by your own hands) create and destroy planets and the entire constellations in one big procedurally generated universe.

A must-have for those fans of the series. For the others it is like getting to know the whole game concept that is additionally rewarding to those interested in history. Revelations does have a good story, several great ideas and a sufficient number of historical details letting you immerse yourself in the game database and other sources of information after finishing the main campaign.

Typoman: Revised is a game where you command the wind and rain by word. Only small issues spoil this mixture of unique gameplay and atmosphere, fortunately. You will remember this arcade where you write more than you fight for a long time.

Darkest Dungeon is a great example that some things are worth waiting. The game occasionally gets repeatable and some of its mechanics do not reach their full potential, but even so it is an extremely funny and addictive RPG.

Neither short nor long cat adventure will catch you with its simplicity. It is hidden in a enjoyable duel system, picturesque graphics and a satisfying story. In addition to the gameplay, Cat Quest entertains you at every step with funny puns and references to other games. It's just a shame the game repeats the same all over again.

Sophisticated and detailed deconstruction of mobile turn-based events and rogue-like games. It will catch all players who are not scared by its odd visuals.

Well-done action, especially if you play the multiplayer. It separates the original formula from any major fear, but fortunately replaces it with entertaining and solid shooting. If you are a fan of the first two parts, you cannot miss with the third part. And if you think your action games are not dark and bloody enough, then you will be satisfied too.

The best instalment of the series, that much is without question. There could be more changes, sure, and the graphics feel dated. But the new turn-based strategic map is a great addition which transforms the traditional singleplayer campaign into a massive operation for many an evening.

When all the elements fit in, Evolve provides brilliant experience similar to Predator movie and well-functioning MMO raid combined.

An epic japanese RPG that is great in everything it presents. In despite of its depth, the game is open to all players that have no experience with this type of gameplay.

Sunless Sea looks as if it fell from Jules Verne’s novels. You are facing the sea monsters and pirates and appreciate the warmth of each and every island pub. Fortunately, this marvelous maritime trip is plagued only by a handful of problems.

"What could I do to save a loved one?" For such a question it is usually late in real life, but the Last Day of June adventure can answer it. The game will amaze you by its unusual theme and emotions so you will forgive its few issues.

Funny, stylish and very entertaining game that built its gameplay on simple combination of two well-known gaming concepts and it's done in a truly remarkable way.

Never Alone combines gameplay of Limbo with a trip to the Arctic Circle and with an exotic document. Although none of the parts is perfect, together they create a remarkable experience.

Witty, sophisticated and very well-written detective adventure that mixes noir seriousness with a playful child's imagination very well.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a different kind. It's incredibly absorbing in its pace, it amazes with a manically detailed medieval era features and a totally true atmosphere, a series of skillfully built quests and, and when you get used to it, a fantastic combat system. There is a one-too-much cliché in the story arc, but the main problem lies in the technical issues. The game is, however, such a remarkable, huge, different and fresh experience that the occasional bug can be simply ignored.

A perfect showcase of Sony’s new VR headset. Call of the Mountain is a linear exhibition of all of Horizon’s greatest hits. And it’s especially great for fans of rock climbing!

A well-done action RPG for 3DS handheld. The game may attract your attention with its well-built tree of abilities, its online multiplayer along with its doping gameplay. However, many of its minor flaws like overabundance of loot, the New Game+ absence or higher difficulties with the same character of yours are holding the game back from the elite.

A brilliant old-school shooter which isn’t afraid of modern features. It’s hectic, lightning fast, destructive, explosive and bloody. There are weaknesses, sure - but if you take it in small doses, this game will reward you with a very pleasant time indeed.

Great mix of genres, which will test your skills more than any other game. Retro visuals suits the game perfectly; user interface and controls are almost flawless. It will die few times at start but once you become familiar with it you won´t quit until you open at least one more room.

Tharsis is FTL for real cosmonauts who know problems are solved by random dice throw and by marginal ability to strategize in unclear situations. And it's funny!

Like Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask also passed the test of time and it truly is fascinating that fifteen-year-old game is able to surprise more than many of the AAA productions. Majora's Mask 3D is more accessible than the original. Despite it is a carefully done remake, it often unnecessarily frustrates and most of the time remains in the shadow of Ocarina of Time.

Mantis Burn Racing is a fresh and addictive driving arcade. Although it doesn´t ring with originality, it beautifully revives an old game recipe. Racing with "toy cars" is still immensely fun and nerve-wracking. It is a pity that there are some unnecessary issues.

Unreal Engine, top-notch technology, goes hand in hand with game's addicting gameplay and its great vibe – something I wouldn't expect from a mobile/tablet game like Gyro13.

Golden Realms have improved both tactical combat options and magic. They add tens of game units along with the ways of playing. While the game mechanics are not changed, the game's new content will surely make you happy.

A walk through the human soul could not be portrayed any better. Mind is an original nice-looking puzzle game, and if you make sense of the meaning of tasks, then the game is quite playable. It would have been perfect, if it was programmed slightly better.

A textbook example of how to make a game based on a sensitive topic. If Syrian refugee Nour and her husband Majd simply jumped out of the app they’re using to communicate with each other, I wouldn’t even be surprised. I will never forget our world seen through their eyes.

Crimes & Punishments is blessed with the very pretty graphics but also with the new gameplay – it is centered around your freedom to investigate, which is quite possibly for the first time in the series that you may experience the weight of your own decisions.

If you allow it, Grow Home will wrap you around its finger. An unusual platformer from the Ubisoft studio can charm with visuals, entertain and -thanks to its precisely set length- it can’t start boring you. The purity of design and old-school approach makes it an ideal candidate for the one or two night’s company.

Mario Kart 8 is offering a great deal of racing on well-designed tracks, and the game is sure-footed especially in its multiplayer. Don't expect anything revolutionary, expect "just" great fun.

Anno 117: Pax Romana sends the city-building series into the Roman era with elegance, meticulous attention to detail, and stunning audiovisual design. The captivating rhythm of construction is only occasionally disrupted by technical issues and overly aggressive AI. Even so, it stands as a worthy successor – one that makes it easy to lose track of time.

Without a doubt this is the best Call of Duty game in recent years. Flawless movie-like single-player, fun and fantastic multiplayer which is everything but boring. Although the game didn't deliver the promised revolution visible progress has been achieved.

Gripping horror adventure game excels in amazing sounds, music and visuals. Although the originality of the story won´t take your breath away, the game will succeed with its atmosphere and touchy experience. Try it, you won´t regret.

Thanks to the audiovisual improvements Homeworld over-shines its modern competitors even in the year 2015. The remastered version has yet few mistakes that do not always stem from the game’s age. However, it's still a great game and fun, so those few mistakes can’t ruin your experience.

Finally, once again a case where the long wait paid off. Scorn did not disappoint, but mainly brought audiovisual porn for fans of a specific art style. There is not so much playing in it, but I can still warmly recommend a visit to this virtual world.

Pessimists constantly gripe about the lack of changes in NHL 12, but they are all wrong. There are some good changes here, and these changes altogether have a great impact on its gameplay; that is to say, bigger changes wouldn't bring up the desired effect of its kind of game-continuity. We may say we are once again closer to the actual hockey experience without losing its first-rate gameplay.

A well-crafted soulslike that doesn’t reinvent the genre, but excels where it counts. The combat is sharp, visceral, and deeply satisfying, offering a solid challenge without feeling unfair. Boss fights are a definite highlight, with memorable design and mechanics. Unfortunately, the overall experience is held back by a weak story, uninspired level design, and rather monotonous environments. Still, for fans of the genre, it’s a gritty and rewarding adventure that hits most of the right notes.

Fantastic gameplay, plenty of game modes, and a substantial roster of playable characters are the main strengths of Tekken 8. The evolution is more on the cautious side, and the story mode could use some refinement. However, in the competition with last year's giants, Bandai Namco has nothing to be ashamed of.

Season: A Letter to the Future is an emotional trip full of stories you have to immortalize in your diary. You will watch, you will listen, you will sometimes utilize your creativity and you will think about many topics relevant for us all.

Dungeons of Hinterberg offers an engaging blend of action-adventure and social RPG elements with a well-balanced mix of combat, puzzles, witty conversations, and relaxation. Its only drawbacks might be the weaker sound design and potentially divisive visual style. However, it’s certainly a journey worth taking, especially with its availability on Game Pass.

Excellent action jumble of genres and play styles, which does not look that good, but all its cons are masked by its great story and unconventional narrative. Automata definitely isn’t for everyone. But if you are not afraid of the Japanese weirdness and instead of sweet tearjerkers you’d want a proper depression with philosophical questions, you won’t regret buying this game.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A brings a fresh, action-oriented take on the series, breathing new life into the world of Kalos with dynamic real-time battles. Lumiose City feels alive, a richly explorable environment full of secrets and meaningful interactions. While the game occasionally stumbles over minor technical issues and slight control imprecision, it ultimately delivers a captivating and thoroughly enjoyable spin-off.

SteamWorld Heist II is a sequel done right. It retains the best aspects of its predecessor—turn-based combat with precise aiming and trick shots—transports it to an appealing pirate setting, wraps it in a meaningful storyline, and adds simple world exploration with an excellent class-mixing system that could use just a bit more depth. Regardless, it's a fantastic return for a great game, appealing to both fans and newcomers alike.

Kingdom Rush has arrived on PCs as a port from mobiles, therefore it is not surprising the game is a small one. The main campaign consists of twelve levels which are replenished with another seven bonus ones after your successful completion. Therefore, with a bit of prejudice, you may finish Kingdom Rush in two evenings. However, if you take a keen interest in tower defense strategy genre, it is virtually certain that you are going to find Kingdom Rush a little pearl to which you will gladly return.

A throwback to the kind of real-time strategy games rarely made anymore, Tempest Rising nails the basics with explosive flair. While the story feels a bit formulaic and the limited choice of just two factions can grow repetitive, the core gameplay hits as hard as a heavy tank shell. Add in a striking visual style and a killer soundtrack, and you’ve got a must-play for any strategy fan who’s been craving the glory days of classic RTS.

The main draw of Sand Land is its adventure and well-written characters borrowed from the beloved source material. While their manga-like appearance might not appeal to everyone, the care and love for the original comic are evident in every move they make, complemented by excellent voice acting. However, the unfulfilled potential of the open world and the dull quest content are disappointing, only redeemed by the entertaining combat system featuring customizable vehicles. Despite these drawbacks, Sand Land is worth playing to experience its story.

A highly competent return to the era when action games were fast, precise, and demanding without constantly reminding how hard they were. More importantly, it recalls a time when such games were still plentiful. Ninja Gaiden 4 is an excellent title for fans of the genre, though a few shortcomings may keep others at bay.

Combining survival elements with looter shooter and MMORPG mechanics, Once Human takes the best from these genres to create an entertaining and functional mix. While not flawless, it captivates with its bizarre world, monster design, and gunplay. The effectiveness of the seasonal system remains to be seen, but it shows promising potential to become a multiplayer staple.

Ghost 1.0 is the top arcade in almost all of its parts. It offers thrilling action and puzzles for thinking. Game experience, which aptly follows the old times with Metroid and Castlevania. It iis just slightly crippled by unbalanced difficulty.

A great action-packed strategy game that is not taking itself serious to no avail. This one throws you straight into the waves of orcs, and you will enjoy it quite immensely regardless of the gamer's type you are: tower defense lover or action shooters fan. The only flaw I see is the absence of level editor and multiplayer – that will maybe be brought in the promised DLC.

Heading Out is one of the most bizarre genre mixes ever encountered. The racing element is fun, the comic-style narrative engaging, the graphic design simply fantastic, the road trip aspects immersive, the radio broadcasts natural and bold, the pervasive threat suitably unsettling, and the desire to figure out what’s going on is immense. It's a strange game, but it works, it's enjoyable, and it's refreshing to see someone unafraid to experiment. This time, the gamble paid off.

Europa Universalis V has a bright future ahead and the potential to become the ruler of grand strategy games. Its complexity serves as both its greatest challenge and its strongest asset. It’s unlikely to win over newcomers to the genre, but devoted map painters will undoubtedly fall in love with it. This is Paradox Interactive’s most ambitious project to date, and if the studio maintains its long-term support, it will stand without equal.

Fast-paced and extremely brutal cyberpunk smasher with excellent visuals. The higher difficulty is compensated by a wide arsenal of weapons and perks, which can be freely configured on the fly. Pity, the environment offers relatively small variability, and sometimes the clashes are just extremely confusing.

This is the newest great arcade series' installment, and since it makes use of the new Sony handheld's capabilities and controls at full throttle, it belongs among the best PlayStation Vita titles. The game has only one major flaw: short story, through which you will rush in no time.

Resogun is a good retro shooter clothed in beautiful graphics. It offers a proper challenge and a lot of fun without annoying technical issues.

B. J. Blazkowicz is back, and not even the previous victory of the Nazis can stop him. Wolfenstein: The New Order is showing there is not a problem you can solve with plenty of ammo and energy needed for futuristic guns. At the same time, the game is offering a story humiliating most of the genre fellow-travellers. Go for it, a mountain of Nazi corpses, and a lot of fun is waiting for you.

A top-notch portrayal of Formula 1 racing with a new career overhaul where you can finally race with official drivers. F1 24 is undeniably the best Formula racing game, featuring an authentic driving model and a wide range of settings for driving characteristics and championship modes. However, it would have been nice to see more new features compared to last year's installment.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment delivers a stylish, action-packed spectacle that proves even a Zelda spin-off can offer a full-fledged experience. Koei Tecmo successfully combines massive battles, a surprisingly strong narrative, and well-crafted gameplay systems into a game that rewards every button press with a rush of dopamine. While some repetition inevitably sets in and the base difficulty could be higher, it remains an entertaining and technically polished title that will satisfy both Zelda fans and lovers of pure, unfiltered action.

This well-made musical shoot 'em up probably won't live up to the classics, but it manages to entertain for long hours. Fortunately, some flaws here and there do not bring the gameplay enjoyment down. If you love music and shoot 'em ups at least a bit, you can't go wrong with Symphony.

Abigail "Fetch" Walker, a sensitive rebel with her troubled past, who gladly hits others, especially when her brother's life is at stake. A long time ago, Brent ran away with her from home when her own parents had informed to DUP – those guys who help and protect, but somehow it does not match to their smile. It is a bad move to get Abigail mad – that is why it is such a joy to play as her. The main heroine of the separate First Light DLC for inFamous: Second Son is essentially more interesting than Delsin; she was already gripping your attention in the original game, considering. Therefore it is not surprising that its creators grabbed her and present her as a great addition, a must to all gamers who love superheroes rampage.

Super gameplay that has stood the test of time bringing some news to give the actual experience another dimension. Mario Kart 7 is a must-have title for every single 3DS holder with the Internet / live buddies access – mainly due to its great multiplayer. It's a pity those are not included already.

The final episode of the PS3 Ratchet & Clank chapter is more of a small game than a fully-fledged one. Considering its purchase cost is adequate along with the overall game's intensity, it is a perfect ending of another period of Lombax' colorful life. Moreover, there's a bonus on the disc, Quest for Booty, an old but totally awesome mini installment certainly worthy of your attention. So get cracking!

A unique strategy that pleasantly breaks the conventional tower defense genre, where instead of pre-built structures, you create a wall against the fog with your own creativity. The surprisingly well-executed campaign keeps up the pace until the very end. It's a pity, however, that the same attention given to the wall-building mechanics wasn't extended to the construction of other buildings or the variety of units. Exploring the map is also fun, as you must build platforms, stairs, and bridges to reach harder-to-access areas.

An interestingly conceived tower defense game that will please fans of the genre who are tired of its stupor. It is a satisfying and entertaining action game. The ideal choice for those who are depressed that the new school year is beginning, and that they have nothing to play during their classes.
