BattleTech offers an epic experience of commanding a space war while you can also immerse into the fantastic story and music. But compared with top SLGs like XCOM 2, it has too many flaws, such as stupid tutorials, stiff actions, and slow loading speed, which can not be easily ignored.

Dark Souls Remastered keeps the original feelings with advanced graphics performance, which gives many players a chance to try this game on the latest console. But obviously 60 dollars is way too much for a remastered game that almost changes nothing, some old fans may think this edition lacks sincerity.

Forgotton Anne is good at telling a story, and creating a new world filled with magical things. The hand-painted art style and the background music are remarkable, and the puzzle part has some strengths too. However, the handling feel of this game is not satisfactory enough, which kind of reminds me the original version of Prince of Persia.

Although it's not expansive enough compared to other games in the franchise, Thrones of Britannia does make a great progress because of the depth of strategy.

Dongkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is a solid platform game with creative level design, impressive background music and unique graphics performance. The NS version add a new character Funky Kong who can strongly reduce the difficulty, which makes this game more suitable for newcomers.

Isoland 2: Ashes of Time is really suitable for entry level players to understand how fun could a puzzle game be. Its art style is cute, and puzzles are natural. But for experienced players, it's too lacking in challenge to keep patience playing it.

Empires Apart has a beautiful art style, and its music is immersive. Unfortunately, stupid AI ruined the game, and the poor level design even made it worse.

Almost every aspect of Ash of Gods: Redemption is fantastic. Pure hand-painted graphics is remarkable, and tons of texts and interesting dialogues present a vivid view of a world of war. Ash of Gods would be your best choice if you were a RPG fan who is keen on reading.

Ni No Kuni II tells a nice fairy tale with an iconic Ghibli art style. But the combat system is not good enough, and the design of side quests need some second thoughts.

God of War is a successful reboot of one of the most brutal hack-and-slash action games, and it's remarkable, fun and still uber-violent. The core gameplay has changed significantly, and Santa Monica did take a risk that won't appeal to some orthodox God of War fans. But all in all it turns out that those new game mechanics are so well-crafted and of course it's great progress.

Playing Ubisoft's Far Cry 5 is just like eating a McDonald's Big Mac. It's really appetizing but never surprises me. I already know what it tastes like before actually biting in, considering all the Big Macs are made by the same recipe. So is Far Cry 5.

AOT 2 is a decent sequel with solid gameplay, and of course it's a great feast to anime fans. However, dealing with relationships with your companions is tedious and somewhat stupid.

The Curse of the Pharaohs offers a fantastic journey, while you finally have a chance to visit one of the most famous ancient Egypt city Thebes, and four pharaohs' tombs with their beautiful after-life worlds. We still can find some defects which came from the original game, but as a DLC, this 10+ hours' journey is satisfying enough.

Bravo Team is a halfway decent VR game with immersive shooting experience. However, the weak performance of PSVR drags down my evaluation of this game, and there are also too many bugs within it. Maybe we can say, it's still not the best time for VR.

Not like other SLG, pushing is much more important than damage in Into the Breach. Your strategies must change significantly to fit the new rules, which makes the game interesting and unique. Besides, you can find roguelike elements, a great variety of mechs, and challenging enemies in it as well. It is definitely one of the biggest surprise you can buy these days.

The original Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 are still magnificent these days, and the Nintendo Switch version succeeds in allowing you to re-experience them on the latest console, even in a portable way. If you are a fan of action games but haven't tried the original version before, don't hesitate to buy the bundle. They might be the greatest action games until the releases of God of War or Bayonetta 3.

Koei wanted a brand-new look fpr Dynasty Warriors, so they decided to transform this game from an action game to an open world RPG. But this open world is like a rough stone, which has poor appearance and thoughtless design, with many boring side missions and too much time wasted on the way. The new combat system is fine, yet terrible graphics, tons of bugs, and low frame rates still ruined it, making this game a complete failure.

The concept of Shadow of the Colossus is unique and full of charm. The remastered version on PS4 is remarkable, which means it is the perfect choice for anyone who wants to try it, no matter whether you are an existing fan or a new player. However, Fumito Ueda's works are always a little bit cult, so it is also understandable if you may not get into this game.

Candleman: The Complete Journey is a pretty zen game with a very attractive core design of puzzles. Using 10 seconds of light to find a way out is always full of expectation, especially because the producer made the graphics extremely artistic and beautiful, which reminds me some former masterpieces like Journey or Monument Valley. What's more, I am really into the story about the self-redemption of this little candleman.
