Exciting and great looking real-time strategy action. But what happened to the single player campaign?

Hillys is an intriguing and beautiful world - part Venice, part Naboo, and entirely fascinating.

OOTP 14 is a complicated, in-depth simulator geared towards the hardcore gamers of fantasy leagues.

Even if past DBZ games have rubbed you the wrong way, and I know a lot of them have, give this one a shot. Unless you are a hardcore fan of Japanese voice tracks, you won't be disappointed.

Anomaly: Warzone Earth is one of those games that features a small set of simple rules and controls that give way to a surprisingly deep strategy game.

If you love a lot of real-time strategy in your real-time strategy games, then Ground Control II is for you. It’s a great looking game that delivers some exciting real-time strategy action for gamers who need a break from base-building and resource collecting.

Disney Infinity has come a long way since its first release, and while there's still room for improvement your kids will still have plenty of fun with the game.

If you're new to bullet hell shooters, I don't recommend that you start with Freedom Finger. It's a challenging game in a challenging genre. Anyone who enjoys a good shmup, though, would be remiss to miss the opportunity to play this game. You'll love that Freedom Finger isn't just another bullet hell clone and that it will really challenge your skills.

Need for Speed: Most Wanted has every right to be on your most wanted wish list this Christmas.

Some players may find the new quests a little hard, but serious Majesty fans will enjoy the new quests and game features.

You're left wishing that the planets were a bit more interesting after you touch down on them, though. The RPG elements are not fleshed out too well, though, so don't expect "Morrowind" in space.

The best there is in portable golf.

I don't think it is any secret that Monster Hunter is one of my favorite gaming franchises, and Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is hands-down the absolute best Monster Hunter yet. There are literally hundreds of hours of stuff to do in this game, and the upgrades from Monster Hunter Tri make this an even more tantalizing treat.

Aside from the paint-by-numbers hero, music and voices, I can't think of too much wrong with the overall game.

It may have the word "junk" in its title, but this game is a monster of a good time.

Those who tried playing Destiny but didn't stick with it should probably give Destiny 2 a try as it has addressed a number of issues that were present in the original game. Regular Destiny players will undoubtedly have their own personal list of complaints about the sequel, but none of them should be a deal-breaker and after an adjustment period of getting used to the changes they should find themselves playing Destiny 2 as much as they played the original. As for new players, Destiny 2 provides enough content through its campaign and related mission that you'll get more gameplay out of it than you will a standard shooter even if you don't continue playing much beyond the campaign. And after that, many of you will find yourself getting hooked on the drive to push for better gear so that you can take on the top challenges the game has to offer.

The Guitar Hero franchise takes a few baby steps forward.

Freedom Cry delivers what you want from DLC: a new story that will take you hours to complete and more of the gameplay that you enjoyed in the original game.

Kudos to the development team for speeding up the build times, including a plethora of new structures and edicts, and adding even more great tracks to the excellent soundtrack.

If you've played these games to death, you should probably go ahead and skip this one. But if you've never spent any time blasting enemies out of the air and cleaving them in twain as Dante, go get this collection now.

A must have for fans of multiplayer Halo 2 who do not subscribe to Xbox Live.

If you enjoy classic action-RPGs you're probably sold on Bastion at this point, and you should be. Otherwise, you may not think as highly of it since at its core it's still a throwback to a bygone day of gaming. It's a good game for what it is, but it's not for everyone. If you're still on the fence give the demo a try; you'll probably know on which side you'll fall pretty quickly.

Left 4 Dead is one of those games like Madden NFL or Rock Band that is a lot more exciting and fun to play when played with friends.

Crypt of the NecroDancer is a unique and enjoyable game, but don't let its ties to rhythm-based games fool you - it's also quite challenging.

The 40th Day outshines the original Army of Two in just about every way, and kicks the franchise into a higher gear.

Saints Row: The Third certainly proves that the third time is the charm if your system is strong enough.

Retro Game Challenge is a great way to relive your NES days, or to see what the NES days were like.

If you haven't experienced The Sims before, now's your chance. This bundle will provide you with plenty of gameplay and introduce you to the enjoyable addiction that The Sims can be.

It gives DOOM 3 fans more demon-killing gameplay set in a new storyline, while adding just enough new to ward off the “been there, done that” feeling. If you enjoyed DOOM 3 you’ll be very happy with Resurrection of Evil and shouldn’t hesitate to add it to your arsenal.

If you loved Battlefield 1942, then you'll love the new maps.

Overall Sins of a Solar Empire is an easy game to recommend to strategy fans. It may put off RTS gamers who live off of rush tactics or turn-based gamers who like the luxury of taking all the time that they want to plot their next move.

Because of the unique way that the game blends the effects of its cards with its gem board, it took me a run or two to really understand what was going on. After that, though, I began to appreciate how well the gameplay mechanics work together and really started to enjoy the game. If you enjoy games like this, like me you’ll probably find yourself playing just one more battle until you find that you’ve just put a few hours into the game.

Overall, Tearaway Unfolded is unique and charming enough to recommend to gamers.

If you enjoyed Zeus, you'll be quite happy with Poseidon.

Street Fighter IV changes the series' overall look to 3-D but still sticks to its root with the normal 2-D Street Fighter style gameplay that we have come to enjoy making it quite an enjoyable fighter to play for Street Fighter purists.

Assassin's Creed: The Rebel Collection provides a lot of gameplay for your money, even though overall Rogue feels a lot like Black Flag reskinned and moved to a new setting from a gameplay perspective. It's easy to recommend The Rebel Collection to action game fans, especially those who want to turn their daily commute into an adventure on the high seas.

Shadow Magic carries on the Age of Wonders series' tradition of fine turn-based strategy gameplay, and the changes introduced by the game should please both Age of Wonders veterans and gamers new to the series.

Don’t let the game’s pastel colors and cute bunnies fool you – inbento is not a children’s game and those who only occasional delve into the world of puzzle games may find the challenge to be too frustrating. If you enjoy logic puzzles and putting your spatial thinking skills to the test, though, you should definitely give inbento a try.

A great action-oriented RPG for those who like to spend more time killing hordes of monsters than reading screen after screen of conversational text.

SSX lands the trick of relaunching the much-loved snowboarding game series.

Overall, The Misadventures of P. B. Winterbottom is a rather unique game, both in terms of look and gameplay, and fans of puzzle games are encouraged to give it a try.

All in all, Hoard is a decently rounded game that only needs a little bit of polishing to finish off its great game design and put itself on the list of titles that will probably have a cult following for years to come.

SEGA keeps the Virtua Tennis series alive with its 4th entry into mix, bringing along a bundle of upgrades and fresh game modes to keep us swinging away.

If you have a dislike for metal I doubt that you'll appreciate the game that much and you'll certainly miss out on many of the in-jokes and celebrity cameos. To legions that appreciate the true power of rock, though, it's your one way ticket to midnight.

Ground-breaking and very fascinating, but the game is hurt by an overemphasis on micromanagement. Improved village management and some poor level design kept this game from rating higher.

The intriguing setting and well-crafted story completely drew me into the game, and I enjoyed facing off against the secret weapons brought to life by the diabolical minds of Nazi scientists like robotic dogs, towering walkers, and cyborg mechs.

Crysis has a lot going for it, even though you'll need a pretty powerful computer to get the full experience. It does have its shortcomings though, and among other things I think that it may prove to be pretty frustrating for casual gamers and that a fair number of gamers won't be too pleased with the endgame.

While the game is heavy on urban hip-hop culture, the over the top gameplay also makes it fun for those out in the countryside or who aren’t sure whether having bling-bling is a good thing or not.

If you own a Nintendo Switch and enjoy platformers, you need this game. It will chew you up and spit you back out with its difficulty, but it’s such a joy to play that it will keep you coming back. Honestly, dying in a GnG should be expected – it’s part of the enjoyment since you learn with each death and eventually overcome the obstacle. For true fans of the GnG series, this game should be like fine wine. To newcomers, I think there is enough option select here to get you used to what the rest of us have been enjoying for years.

FIFA 08 is not the first next-gen soccer game, but it's the first one to really feel like a full next-gen game.

As far as games go, Botany Manor is a little on the shorter side, but that’s OK in this case. The gameplay fully tells its story without trying to extend things with inconsequential busy work or unnecessary padding. It’s a relaxing and peaceful game that will exercise your brain just enough without taxing it. If you’re looking for a game that will help you to relax and unwind without boring you in the process, then the botanical puzzles of Botany Manor will meet your nutritional needs.

Either way, if you can ignore the faults, you'll have a great time with this ambitious and entertaining game.

Once the poor bot AI is replaced by human players, the game instantly becomes more challenging and thrilling.

It may have been liberated from the PlayStation Vita, but it still feels like a portable game.

The visual artistry is second to none, the combat is tight and fun, and the world is massive, but Darksiders II isn't the game it could have been.

The graphics in the game are serviceable ' not gorgeous but not bad either ' but then who plays a skateboarding game to look at the scenery?

I enjoyed my time with Broken Age. I found the story to be compelling, and I kept coming back to play the game in much the same way I keep making time to read another chapter in a book that's hard to put down.

If you didn't enjoy Fallout 3 or are not a fan of RPGs in general, then you'll probably disagree with me. Everyone else should seriously consider taking a road trip to New Vegas.

Guardians of the Galaxy is fun to play because it has fun with itself. It’s clever, fast-paced, and never takes itself seriously. In other words, it’s the kind of game the Guardians of the Galaxy deserve.

Those familiar with Westwood's prior strategy games will be very familiar with the game's controls.

You'll certainly get your money's worth out of the game in terms of gameplay, and if, like me, you've never played a Yakuza game before, Yakuza 0 is an excellent opportunity to see what you've been missing.

Anyone who enjoys pinball will probably be very happy with Zen Pinball and should definitely take the game for a spin.

Reigns: Game of Thrones is easily played in small chunks of time when you need a distraction, but it can easily suck you in for longer than you intended. While the mechanics of the game make for a challenging solitaire experience, the game has a greater value to Game of Thrones fans as they can play out the many directions that Season Eight may take while they wait for HBO to debut Game of Throne's final season.

If you enjoy this type of exploration game, ABZU is easy enough to recommend.

You’ll get plenty of enjoyment out of it for just over $3 a map, a gaming bargain these days.

You'll certainly get a lot of bang for your entertainment buck with it.

Overall, Uncharted 4 is a good game, but I can't help but be slightly disappointed in it. I wish there were more puzzles in the game, and that the puzzles that are there were more challenging.

Shadow of the Colossus is experienced as much as it is played.

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that aside from Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (which isn’t really an FPS), Medal Of Honor 2 Heroes is the Wii’s definitive FPS experience. It successfully caters to all audiences, from kids to adults, casual gamers to hardcore ones and new school online fans and old school players alike.

Although I miss the single player campaign, Zombies provides story-based gameplay for those who prefer to have a reason to be doing so much killing. I would have liked to see more game modes in the multiplayer mode given the game's multiplayer focus, and the absence of any of the casual alternative modes like Gun Game is surprising. The game does provide some additional variety in terms of the number of maps available at launch, which is welcome. The Blackout mode is excellent, the synergy of Call of Duty gunplay and battle royale gameplay instantly make Black Ops 4 a standout in this gaming genre.

The game’s mission-based structures makes for a lot of opportunities to show cutscenes, and Jak 3 takes full advantage of this.

Zeit2 is a shooter that's well worth your time.

The multiplayer game really is something different from other RTS games you’ve played online, and if you’re an RTS multiplayer fan it is well worth your time to give Dragonshard a try.

A simple game that's simply addicting.

If you enjoyed Puzzle Quest, then you'll find a lot to like about Galactrix.

It's hard to pick out any particular aspect of the game and call it outstanding, but everything in the game just comes together nicely for a fun overall experience. Recommended for most gamers except for bowler-wearing city slickers.
