Destiny 2 is all that the veterans of the original game could want. It‘s also a great entry point for the newcomers. An addictive gameplay returns with tens if not hundreds of hours of entertainment. [Issue#278]

I was surprised by how much this new incarnation of Destiny appealed to me. New worlds are brilliantly designed, sound and visuals are top notch, combat feels great (those headshots!). This is how the first Destiny should have looked. [12/2017, p.50]

Destiny 2 returns strongly. The confidence of ex-players will be hard to win with their DLCs policy and a gameplay system that is too similar to the previous one, despite significant improvements. However, it hides one of the best and more entertaining shooters you can find today. The level of addiction it creates in players is insane. The best new IP of this generation is consolidated.

Just when you think you’ve run out of things to do in Destiny 2, the game teases you with an additional 5-10 hours of gameplay. What I’ve reviewed doesn’t even include the additions of Iron Banner, Faction Rally, or the hard mode for the Raid. You’re getting a lot more game this time around.

Destiny 2 rights many of the first game's wrongdoings and results in a stronger launch offering, with a finally compelling narrative experience and a more satisfying progression. What it lacks is greater variety in enemies and locations compared to the first game, so we're once again left hoping in future content.

Destiny 2 is more accessible to the neophytes than the first game was, but still complex enough to get long-time players to invest hundreds of hours in the universe. The story of the campaign is less confused than in the original, but it’s not exactly good either. It went from painstakingly bad to ordinary, which is at least an improvement. Destiny 2 is the gaming equivalent of a Michael Bay movie.

Like many of the 10 scores, I am giving this game a 10 because as a direct response to the 0 ratings. I honestly haven't played a zero game, but I have to say most games are not on the level of Destiny 2. I would say, for most people, the game would be rated between 7-9. Expand

There is still not a story, and I often found myself asking what is going on and why should I care about these missions. There really isn't a story and once I completed the main campaign I didn't feel there was much reason to come back, other than I needed to kill 30 minutes waiting on something by doing public events. It's not that this game is terrible, it just isn't worth $60 in my opinion. At $30 I'd be completely satisfied with the game. Overall I feel the changes they made from Destiny 1 to 2 made the game worse, not better. Destiny 1 was a better game. Expand

I will keep it short and sweet.

    It’s Tuesday, let’s play Destiny.

3 hours later: I’ve done all the crap for today, see you guys next Tuesday......

Translation: make a game about grinding for loot but only allow players to get said loot once a week and even then it may not be better than what you have.

Nothing to see here folks. Just wait for Destiny 3. Should be dropping soon. I do recall something about Destiny having a 10 year shelf life only to hear the excuse for 2 was that they couldn’t do what they wanted in the first one. So uh, with all that new equipment, y’all made the same enemies, most of the same guns and same classes? Bummer, guess you shouldn’t have sprung for those new coffee warmers the interns use to count the money y’all are stealing from your dwindling fan base.

    Bye Felicia......

I'll say that sure, there's a campaign in this game that is somewhat understandable. Is Destiny 2 better than the first? Yes, it is. Is it a good game on it's own. No, not in the slightest. In the base game, the content is so lack luster, it's actually upsetting, once you hit the rank of 20 in the base game, and max out everything, there is no reason to play this game. That being said i shouldn't have to buy DLC and expansion packs to have a good time with this game. Some armor you unlock at light level 100, looks the same as light level 200. The loot is supposed to be unique, not the same thing with a different light level. It's uninspiring, boring, it's **** I'm also aware that the 'Curse of Osiris' expansion offered so little in content it is unbelievable. Also, locking things from DLC behind the eververse is pathetic. The content from DLC that YOU the consumer spent money on, is locked behind another pay wall. This game is laughable. Is it fun to play PvP, kill some bad guys, and look somewhat cool? Yes for a few minutes. The base game is not, and never will be worth the price tag of $60, and I shouldn't look to expansions and DLC for something good and better. The base game should be the full package, not half of it. it's insulting. Expand

A hard core fan was lost forever. I just can’t make myself get back into play after how poor the games was at launch.
