Skylanders Spyro's Adventures is a simple game with a gimmick attached, but it's a pretty good gimmick. All things taken into consideration the whole package scores a 75%, but add 15% to that if you're eight.

The game uses left and right arrows for movement that sit in the lower left corner of the screen and another arrow for jumping in the lower right. For a game built on high-speed runs and well-timed jumps it's a deal-breaker.

There's no compelling reason to "upgrade" from last year's version and the game should not be bought for Kinect play alone. However, if you haven't played a Tiger Woods game in a while and can live with the courses available at the start, it's possible for you to be quite happy with Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13.

The game does nail the mechanics of a shooter and it's certainly beautiful to look at, but everything else hasn't quite gelled into a cohesive whole. Since Destiny is obviously designed to be an evolving game played for the long haul, though, it will certainly be interesting to see how it progresses and grows over time.

Overall, One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 is one of the best Musou games that I have played (for the ones based off anime). I'm not a fan of One Piece, but this game is really good and I think all Warriors fans should give it a try. The character variety and fast gameplay make it highly enjoyable.

Puzzle infuriation and stolen tropes from other RPGs do drag down the experience, but when compared to the first game, DQ2 is a revelation. The story, characters and open world make the game feel like so much more than a "mash attack til everything is dead" musou title M.O., and the move toward a traditional Dragon Quest game over a hack and slash title makes a huge difference. If Dragon Quest, Dynasty Warriors or action-RPGs are your wheelhouse, there is more than enough here to keep you busy for between 30 and 50 hours.

Röki, like a good fairy tale, is an enchanting experience that melts the time away. Adventure gamers may find it a little less challenging than they’d prefer, but this makes the game more accessible to younger gamers without it devolving into a children’s game. Tales of Kenzera: ZAU is a metroidvania that I really enjoyed and kept me motivated to keep pushing through it. I love the masterful use of color and music in the game, as well as the unique and heartfelt story. I was fascinated by the setting and the game’s mythology – it was new to me and I truly appreciated being exposed to a new mythos that is extremely underserved in gaming and other media. I enjoyed reading the additional background on everything in the game’s codex. The game’s title – “Tales of Kenzera” teasingly implies that there are more stories to be told here. I certainly hope that there are.

In spite of its efforts to teach players the subtleties of both the controls and the sport, you’ll have to try and pick up a lot of it on your own if you’re going to get any good at the game. I can certainly see some players getting frustrated with it.
