When Edna wakes up, she has no memories of her past, or why she finds herself in the padded cell of a sanatorium. Though she hasn't the slightest idea how she ended up in a cell, one thing is certain: She wants to get out of there!

After all, she feels positively sane and her talking plush bunny Harvey absolutely agrees.

Together they try to make their escape and meet the weirdest inmates from a man in a bee costume to the pseudo-siamese twins Hoti and Moti. But Dr. Marcel, the head of the sanatorium, does everything in his power to stop Edna from leaving.

Edna & Harvey: The Breakout certainly has the DNA of old-fashioned graphic adventures. If you’re up for some funny and taxing adventuring, it will keep you occupied with the puzzles while the story and its delivery will amuse you. The 10th Anniversary Edition polishes the original sketchy look of the game to make it more approachable but it doesn’t lose the crazy heart that beats life to Edna’s odd world.

Edna & Harvey: The Breakout - Anniversary Edition carries on the tradition of the old school adventure games that built the foundation of PC gaming. While it avoids some of the more frustrating aspects of that genre and competently translates a PC-centric gameplay model to console, it's still very much a classic point-and-click adventure game. If that sounds appealing to you, then you'll most likely enjoy this game.

I miss old school point-and-click adventures and forgot how much until I got to experience Edna & Harvey: The Breakout – Anniversary Edition. While it isn’t without its faults, they are easy to forgive when fans of the genre like myself are so starved for anything new to release. While simply putting a new coat of paint on decade old game won’t make it sit amongst the greats, it was an entertaining and peculiar experience filled with laughs and giggles I’m glad I got to experience, even if I had to look up a walkthough more than a few times to see the credits roll.

If you're a fan of point and click adventure games with plenty of humour then you need to play Edna & Harvey: The Breakout - Anniversary Edition. Just ensure that you're ready to frequently refer to a guide and witness some truly awkward animations.

Edna & Harvey: The Breakout - Anniversary Edition on Xbox One is a big old game, but if you wish to get your teeth into a world of eccentricity and the bizarre it should just suffice.

You play a girl named Edna, who is locked up in an asylum with no real memory of why, but she does have her stuffed rabbit Harvey to help her along the way. There is also a very odd twisted little story throughout for the various characters you encounter and have to interact with. You will spend copious amounts of time exploring the different rooms trying to find solutions or items that you need to give other characters to progress. the Story kicks off when you find out your dad was arrested for the murder of the asylum Dr.'s son, and you are determined to prove his innocence. Now you have to escape and return to your former home, and learn what truly happened. So you must sleuth along regaining memory all the while doing little tasks to gain information, help, and passage through the asylum as you find means of escaping. This is a trialing game of search find and solution, that takes the time to pick on itself and even break 4th walls at times, leaving you with an entertaining play that should last you hours as you explore. Choices matter at critical moments. Words are everything. there are two separate endings, all though neither one really quite seems anymore good than the other, you be the judge of that. Either way, enjoy this truly chaotic neutral explorative puzzle game, and the twisted stories that accompany it. Expand
