LEGO: The Hobbit is a fun game with a huge, sprawling world, but in the end it's a bittersweet experience, mostly because of the story that's missing.

Astro's Playroom is maybe not a game that can fill the shoes of a full title, but as a pack-in game it delivers on more than we expected.

With Trenched Double Fine continues their legacy of making small games with a couple of irritating elements. However, the game is good fun from start to finish – especially if you've got a couple of friends who are willing to join you on the battlefield.

Yakuza 0 offers a great story and loads of side activities, but dated mechanics keeps it from being considered a true stroke of genius.

NHL Slapshot is a very different game from NHL 11, but it still manages to convey the fun of playing hockey. The bundeled stick doesn't offer a perfectly precise controll on the ice. Still, it feels unique to blast the puck in the back of the net with your own hands.

At its best Star Wars: Squadrons offers some fun, but it could have benefited from more content.

With the introduction of the new and entertaining game mechanic called Mythic Poker, Runespell: Overture becomes quite an interesting little game. You fight your way through medieval England and battle both Vikings and powerful creatures from mythology.

Killzone: Mercenary is sort of like an ambitious little brother, trying to fill his older brother's shoes – and in some ways he is able to do so. The result is a handheld shooter that looks and plays great, but it is far from perfect.

Forza Horizon is a fresh branch on the Forza tree. It is truly a pleasure to drive the beautiful cars pedal to the metal through the magnificent scenery, but Forza Horizon feels a little bit inconsistent at times.

This highly polished new version of Magic The Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers, is a treat to play. It does not offer great depth or much freedom, but gives you a good and balanced taste of what a great game Magic can truly be.

This physics based puzzle game is gorgeous to look at, with the Unreal Engine providing some spooky visuals that blur the line between the mechanical and organic matter. Unfortunately the experience is over too quickly for you to really enjoy the experience.

Sometimes uncomplicated, silly action and fun is just what you need. And there Immortals of Aveum delivers in buckets and buckets.

The core mechanic from the original game is still there, but it feels more refined and polished than before. Though the amiibo integration feels like an after-thought it's still a fun party game to play with your friends.

While Slender: The Arrival is by no means a perfect game, it excels in inspiring the creeping sensation that danger is lurking around every corner, that something is out to get you. It succeeds in making me afraid to check what’s behind me, but also afraid not to check what’s behind me. That’s the mark of a good horror game.

Lego City Undercover borrows heavily from Grand Theft Auto IV, and mixes it with the fun gameplay we know from other Lego games. It's great fun to explore Lego City and the plot has some really clever twists that will keep you interested throughout the game. It's time for Traveller's Tales Games to come up with some new puzzles, though.

A refreshingly simple JRPG that emphasizes adventuring and exploration over flamboyance. An excessively slow start hurts the overall impression to some degree.

World of Warcraft: Dragonflight invites players to a breathtaking new world, teeming with excitement. However, despite some enjoyable new features, such as Dragonriding, the experience quickly boils down to more of the same stuff players have seen and done before.

Advanced Warfare somewhat breaks the infamous Call of Duty mold, mostly by delivering a surprisingly coherent story, some great new ideas, as well as an overly frustrating multiplayer.

An impressive package on Switch 2 – especially in handheld mode – but inconsistent performance in TV mode holds it back from being the definitive portable experience it could have been.

When it is fun it is very fun, and because of the short, explosive matches it is easy to fall into a loop of playing match after match.

This reboot offers a lot in the way of pure content, but as the hours drag on, there is a sense of repetition and obtuse busywork rather than a sense of purpose. Everything feels slightly more generic, and slightly less interesting compared to its namesake trilogy, although some strong level design helps the overall impression to a certain degree.

Superhot VR’s responsive controls and impressive visuals make for a natural transition to VR, and a gripping sense of involvement. While the game lacks content, it is undoubtedly one of the VR-platform’s most interesting experiences, putting player agency on center stage.

Dirt 3 is a good mixture of traditional rally and modern car sports like gymkhana. A distinct and good driving experience combined with great graphics and music, overshadows the lack of inspiration in the single player campaign, and make Dirt 3 a driving game petrolheads surely will enjoy.
