NHL Slapshot is a game that any sports loving fan who owns a Wii should try.
-
To say I was surprised how well NHL Slapshot turned out is an understatement. I was really just expecting a Wii version of the NHL Arcade game released on the XBLA and PSN last year, but to see that EA put a lot of love and care into this game and made it a game all on its own, without feeling like a dumbed down version of the 360 and PS3 games was very welcome indeed.
-
An impressive and fun hockey experiment for Wii owners. Even the truly die-hard hockey fans will enjoy this immersive stick-in-the-hand experience, even if they're playing the "real" NHL 11 on the HD consoles.
-
Sharp controls and an ingenious hockey-stick peripheral make NHL Slapshot a great arcade hockey game.
-
NHL Slapshot is a nice attempt by EA to capture a larger hockey audience for the Wii. It combines a solid core game with a unique controller that works pretty well for itself. The result is a hockey experience that isn't bad if you're looking for something a little different and a little more casual.
-
If the goal with NHL Slapshot was to create a fun hockey game for the family, EA made it. The game can entertain kids as well as devoted NHL fans. But be sure to play it with others.
-
Nintendo PowerIf you can pony up for the extra sticks (the game comes with just one), NHL Slapshot is best enjoyed by a group of friends who don't take their hockey too seriously. Hardcore fans of the sport will be better served by NHL 2K11. [Oct 2010, p.89]
