Personally as a HUGE hockey fan i love this game. The games go by fast so if you don't have much time you can still fit in a few games! also you can update the rosters to go along with real life rosters. As you may know you can play as the great one Wayne Gretzky. and no matter what team you put him on could turn a team from bad to good and from good to unbeatable. The only Problems i have with this game is how simple it is to score a goal. Any fast shot or awkward angle shot will 75% of the time go in the back of the net. Also the graphics aren't to well..you cant tell Wayne Gretzky apart from Patrick Kane. And the dekeing is..just horrible! it rarely ever picks up the motion sensor. overall its a good game to pass the time. Expand

I owned this game way back in the past and I had remembered how fun it was. But I sold my Nintendo Wii and I traded this game in as well and never looked back. But I sold my Nintendo Wii and I traded this game in as well and never looked back. I had bought a Wii U but it sat in storage for almost 5 years in Calgary because I was hoping to move back there someday thinking the oil and gas bust was temporary but it never did improve out there.the days of money growing on trees was done out there. After the storage company kept raising prices on me thinking I’m never going to return and it was free money for them. I finally went and got all my stuff...as soon as I hooked up my Wii U..I remembered that you could play Wii games and thought I’d pick up a few at the pawn shop. I was browsing their 1$ selection(yes..that’s right 1$ selection) and what do you know..there it was..wayne Gretzky’s nhl slapshot. Even though some sports games like NHL number titles are just updated rosters with very little gameplay difference..some titles feel like experimental titles and this was the case for this game. I find it’s more arcade and fast paced And not bogged down by simulation like other titles. A game has to be fun. This game is incredibly fun because it’s pick up and play and the gameplay and graphics still are great to this day. Sure I own all the latest nhl titles and threes and ones are a blast to play with friends. But when it comes to beer or whatever..games like nhl hitz 2003, nhl arcade, and nhl slapshot..these games get more playtime just because they are fun and competitive. I’ll be honest..realistic games aren’t fun to me. I recently downloaded dirt 2.0 and my god,..what a nightmare.,sure if your a simulation freak then go right ahead..I found it boring and no fun..I don’t like where it takes weeks or months just to understand the depth of a game..sure I don’t want to shallow either but like I was saying...if you want a great arcade sports title to fit in your Wii library..pick this one up..I think you’ll enjoy it. NHL Slapshot is neither a graphical wonder or a gameplay marvel from the great hockey rink in the sky. Instead it's a solid and surprisingly focused round of arcade hockey with plenty of polish in all the right places. Die-hard hockey fans will want to stick with NHL 11, but for the rest of us, this is a great place to start.

Veterans to the series who want their NHL game to be as realistic as possible will still want to go with the PS3 or 360 versions. But gamers who want a fun, faster paced version of the NHL, coupled with good use of motion controls, will definitely want to check out NHL Slapshot.
  3. If the goal with NHL Slapshot was to create a fun hockey game for the family, EA made it. The game can entertain kids as well as devoted NHL fans. But be sure to play it with others.
