Transference reminds us of Silent Hill. The integrated full motion video makes this a very scary experience, though the puzzles aren't super difficult. This is more than just a walking simulator though.

Injustice: Gods Among Us is a typical Netherrealm Studios-game, but not their best. Fighting fanatics will know that this isn't as well done as 2011's Mortal Kombat, but Injustice doesn't rest solely on its fighting system. The true pillars consist of well-known superheroes from the DC-universe, with their absurd powers and a sympathetic amount of fan-service.

The second episode of the Borderlands-series from Telltales is more about the characters and their relationships. The somewhat more peaceful gaming experience is a nice change. However, the game could have used a better finish. The pilot was better than this one, but the unique storytelling makes us long for more.

This is a dark and ruthless horror game which does not offer you too many things to survive with. This small game is a challenge, and does some interesting things regarding visuals and puzzles too.

EA Sports FC 24 is in everything but the name 'just' another new Fifa, but a Fifa that we finally enjoy playing again. The smoother animations are the ultimate lubricant that finally addresses the biggest pain point of recent years.

This game would have been stronger if the world was smaller and more outspoken. But, that is just a minor thing, Everybody's Gone To The Rapture is a great game in which an interesting non-linear story is told in a unique way. Very dreamy.

Although you're unable to build your own Venetian city, Dawn of Discovery 1404: Venice is still a good expansion. Online multiplayer is what we've always wanted and if you're able to schedule at least six hours of playing, you're in for a heck of an experience.

PES is slowly creeping back up and it might have a chance to fight back FIFA if it keeps up this way. The return of some serious simulation ensures this is one of the better editions of the past years.

The Missing is not the most perfect game we have seen this autumn, but it does have its heart in the right place. The bizarre platformaction has fun puzzles and a lovely story to really pull you in.

The Wii version of Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands feels like the genuine sequel to The Sands of Time. It offers an exceptionally long single-player experience with variation, challenge and interesting gameplay mechanics. Flaws in the combat controls and the camera position don’t hurt the experience: this game is one of the surprises of the year.

The Wii-controller was instantly understandable thanks to Wii Sports. Nintendo Land doesn't do exactly that for the GamePad, but it does show that it can be a great addition to games, especially with friends. Thanks to an original concept – a theme park based on 12 Nintendo games – which is well executed, this is more than a simple minigame collection.

Starhawk is a fresh and entertaining third-person shooter, that mainly holds its own in multiplayer. The single player is expendable and works as an introduction for the Build and Battle-system. It is that system that carries the game and makes for wonderfully chaotic battles and an intense, alternative variant of the well-known tower defense. Starhawk is arguably one of the best multiplayer experiences for the PlayStation 3.

Yakuza continues where the last episode stopped, but barely adds new elements. The city is a lively place, the story strong enough and the fighting system is more than ok. Unfortunatly these three elements don't connect very well thus making it a very incoherent gaming experience.

The pixel-like graphics and outdated gameplay lets you think that you are dealing with a very old videogame. But you couldn't be more wrong. Mega Man 9 is not a fresh and new adventure in the Mega Man franchise. Nevertheless, Mega Man 9 is already a classic that shows that a 2D game can still pack a lot of punch.

A lovely, fun kartracer that’s worth playing alone or with friends. It may not be original, but the variety in tracks, recognizable characters and tight controls make this a great alternative for Mario Kart.

MMA has enough moments that are worthwhile. It's just too bad that EA hasn't learned from the strong and weak points of the competition. The controls aren't always working properly and the number of modes are a little on the thin side. However, true MMA-fans will be able to ignore these faults.

Etrian Mystery Dungeon is a surprising game that combines two series that have very different game mechanics. It does it very great, as this is an accessible Mystery Dungeon-game that offers more challenge than Pokemon.

This game offers traditional point-and-click gameplay with a fast pace and strong storytelling. It lacks excitement and action, but the Sherlock Holmes feeling is definitely there.

Tactical, very multi-faceted, tight: the clinical style of Videoball could make you think this is some complex game, but it is actually a fantastic version of air hockey. Too bad the matchmaking does not work and there are limited users online for the game to actually take off.

Mario and Luigi: Brothership brings together the best elements of the previous titles in the crumbling Concordia. It plays great, is again sharply written and looks beautiful. When fighting, it is mainly the exciting boss battles that stay with you, partly due to the extra layer of strategy that the new Battle Plugs bring with them. But it is the characters that you meet along the way that make Brothership an unexpectedly emotional experience.

When you say ArmA 2, you say top-notch realistic gameplay. Take the large amount of bugs for granted and you will be rewarded with a game that comes close to reality with its scale and possibilities. This game separates the boys from the men.

Life is Strange is very pretentious but it is a very nice watch. The game misses the ability to really reel us in emotionally. The interesting time travel twist makes up for a lot, but it only makes us long for the next episode a little bit.

Zeno Clash is a very strange game with a lot of atmosphere. It's hard to describe how the game presents itself; you'll have to see it to understand it. Because of its modest price tag, this is definitely worth checking out for everyone who appreciates an action packed and strange experience or someone who is looking for something original. It's only a shame it's such a short experience.

Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams is an excellent platformer with an original twist. Being able to switch between a 'good' and 'bad' version of the game's world make for challenging puzzles and a test of your in-game dexterity. The amazing soundtrack and visuals complete the package and provide it with a great atmosphere. We just wish it was a bit longer.
