Although the flight model and therefore the simulation is better than ever, there are too many small irritations in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 that affect the experience. The career mode is a valuable addition and the game is almost endlessly replayable for both casual and hardcore simmers. With a lot of love and dedication from developer Asobo and support from publisher Microsoft, it could well be that this is the absolute top in the field of flight simulations in a few months. The game does not reach those heights at the moment.

Rock Band Blitz can be compared to games such as Audiosurf and Amplitude: once you're in the right flow, you'll race over the musical track like a mad man and hopefully break your own or someone else's high score. For the competitive gamer, this means a lot of hours of entertainment, but other than that, Blitz hasn't got much to offer. That's a shame, because the main mechanic is simple and yet addicting.

Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines is a nice twist to the conventional JRPG by adding base building. The artistic beauty is enjoyable but the pacing disturbs the streamlined gameplay by making up random dungeons.

The figurines of Skylanders are not as recognizable as the Disney or Nintendo ones, plus they are pretty expensive. That being said, Skylanders: Trap Team is the best one in the Skylanders franchise, with great variations in gameplay and tons of fun.

Charlie Murder relives the good old days when games like Double Dragon and Streets of Rage reigned supreme. As fun as that may be, Charlie Murder also forgets to get with its time. This beat ‘m up offers a sizable amount of fun, with some antique concepts.

Looking at the level design and the monster design Little Nightmares is one of the best horror experiences out there. It does come up a bit short when it comes to platform gameplay and horror experience. It seems the five hour duration is exactly right.

With brilliant writing and acting and a unique way to influence music tracks, Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical makes a big impression. The fact that your choices don't matter much is not that bad, although it is a pity that the soundtrack does not contain any nice sing-alongs.

Codemasters shows that they haven't forgotten the art of creating circuit games. Very well improved driving behavior and a extremely gratifying audio-visual presentation gives players a great racing sensation. The lack of a cockpit-view is a shame though, and you'll need some perseverance to get the most out of it.

Wargame: Red Dragon had the ungrateful task of following up Airland Battle. It is just as good as its predecessor, but not better, which might make owners of Airland Battle a bit disappointed. Red Dragon is still an RTS of unknown heights that makes you work for your victories though.

Forager offers a pleasant mix of multiple genres, but lacks the finesse of the games it is based upon. Sometimes this game will just require you to press your left mouse button and that is simply too boring.

Any task in Good Job! is guaranteed to get out of hand and that is so much fun. Completing your task despite your own clumsiness and a completely ruined office is accompanied by a surprising amount of variety and original puzzles in this game.

This game is all about the looks: the imagery on offer here is simply spectacular. But what is the message? We have no clue. The gameplay is lacking and overly simplistic. If you're looking for the next "art-game", look no further, but don't expect to play something that's truly fun.

In spite of a few flaws, Ghostbusters: The Videogame gives fans the experience they have been waiting for. Hunting and catching ghosts is fun, especially when playing online with friends. The original cast and locales return in this videogame adaptation and the attention to detail is great. As a result, you really get the feeling of being in a Ghostbusters movie.

New Super Mario Bros. 2 is one of the first Mario platformers that starts to drag. We've seen the New Super Mario Bros. gameplay by now, and the goal to collect as many coins as you can changes little to make it feel like something new. The game controls perfectly though and the difficulty has been raised a little, which gives this entry more of a challenge. It's fun, but we expect more from Mario!

Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden does not seem to be able to support the developer's ambitions. The combat system is fun, but not exploited enough. Exploring the game world is incredibly limited and keeps you on your toes too much. On top of that there are technical imperfections, such as long loading times. Graphically it's all okay, but not brilliant. Characters look nice standing still, but when they start talking it's as if actors are wearing thick rubber masks and the animations are awkward. But the biggest problem is that the game doesn't actually do anything new. Everything you encounter you have seen before and better. Ironically, this game about a ghost and a ghost hunter is a bit soulless.

Dead Rising 3 is a typical zombie game with an enormous world to get lost in, countless weapons and vehicles to play with and more than enough zombies to slay. That sure is entertaining. Unfortunately boredom sets in, in a matter of hours. The 'normal' running, driving and killing isn't broken up enough by interesting things to do or events and the open world might be huge, but that's also why it bores. Luckily the game is fully playable in coop, which makes everything more enjoyable.

The Shake Dimension is an excellent platform game that despite his simple gameplay elements turns out to be a worthy installment of the Wario franchise. Although the playful graphics will not attract every gamer, it only adds up to Wario's characteristics. Every platform gamer will enjoy this game.

Behind the playful exterior of Ibb & Obb you’ll find a cooperative puzzle gem. Playing with gravity works phenomenally well and solving puzzles is gratifying. Ibb & Obb is far from perfect with its slightly monotonous gameplay and lack of a good reward system. But that doesn’t take away from the fact that Ibb & Obb offers a cooperative puzzle experience that from time to time reminds you of Portal.

On the field we run into a more complex and deeper game, in which it’s all about patience and steel nerves. This is partly because PES 2014 is more a soccer simulator than a game and partly because the game part of it still has many flaws. It’s a promising step for the next generation of PES-games though, that much is obvious.

Galak-Z The Dimensional offers spectacular space fights with a satisfying roguelike experience. It is a pity the roguelike elements disappear more and more into the background when the game continues, and that the environment is the same everywhere, but other than that this is a good space experience.

Alice in Wonderland renews our faith in movie tie-ins. Giving its own spin to the visuals and story of the movie make this game never feel like a cheap way of making money off gamers. The intuitive stylus controls emphasize this even more. Only the repetitive fights take away a bit of glimmer.

Tropico 4 is hardly a new game at all. It feels and looks like the third game in the series and improves on only a few levels. At the same time, Tropico 4 is one of the better tycoon games in the past years. People who've missed the third game or fans that want more can rest easy and plan a vacation to this tropical paradise.
