It took a long time before we could enjoy Metal Wolf Chaos XD in the West. It really feels like a fifteen-year-old game. The wonderfully absurd story and great gameplay keep the game entertaining throughout, but nowhere manages to blow us away.

Let's face it, every RTS lover is waiting for Starcraft 2 and Red Alert 3. But don't get too focused on these two titles, because you'll miss out on, for example, WorldShift. A strategy game than looks more than fine and plays like a perfect mix between RTS and RPG. Waiting for a triple A title will be easy with WorldShift.

Voodoo Vince seems like a cutesy platformer, but in its storytelling and humour it gets pretty dark. The puzzles are kinda challenging and the big jazz thing it has going is surely interesting. However, the gameplay mechanics feel very 2003 and the level design is just bad.

With a beautiful, dream-like style Lucidity grabs you almost instantly. But while playing it slowly loses its grip. The concept knows too many flaws and irritations to keep you fascinated and the story is too minimal to provide a counterbalance.

ReCore wants to be a perfect combination of action game and open world Metroidvania, but it is not able to offer the consistent adventure that we were looking for. There is simply no balance.

What is there to tell about Imperium Romanum, which isn't already been said about "Glory of the Roman Empire"? The game brings absolutely nothing new and feels like some tied together missions. Imperium Romanum is on the other hand a nice builder to play. The game is mainly a good title for newcomers in the genre.

Skull and Bones does not offer the celebrated pirate life. Customizing your ship is nice and the naval battles are okay, but otherwise the game has no slick or taste across the board.

SOCOM Confrontation feels like a dud. It feels like an old and unfinished product that will make few gamers happy. In the end SOCOM has little to offer to justify a purchase. Except when you are truly a SOCOM-fan and are willing to look beyond the flaws.

Thanks to the co-op mode, the character building set and the item combining, Blue Dragon: Awakened Shadow is different from the other games in the franchise. But it doesn't exactly stand out from other RPG's. Because of the lack of any ground-breaking elements, it feels like we've all played this one before.

A fun, chaotic race game with a generous collection of missions, vehicles and weapons. The game could have been so much better with more precise controls, though. Thanks to that, Scrap Metal will always stand in the shadow of games like Death Rally, Rock‘n’Roll Racing and R.C. Pro-Am.

The follow-up to Fat Princess is not competitive, it is an action RPG like Diablo. The smart class system makes the game interesting, but still you will not put hundreds of hours into it.

The Chronicles series has the same issue as the bigger Assassin's Creed games: it is too much of the same thing. ACC: India is like ACC: China with a different surrounding. It's not bad, but it is boring.

Monsters vs Aliens turned out to be a decent movie game. As always with movie games the looks are more than fine, but the game lacks challenge and often repeats itself. The nicely formed locations are a lust for the eye and you will probably have a laugh while watching the movie scenes. Too bad that the co-op mode is a total miss.

On paper running a construction company and handling big vehicles sounds pretty fun, but in this game it is dreadful. There are a lot of technical issues, but even the things that do work are simply not fun. It's boring, uncontrollable, slow and badly written.

As Dracula from Lords of Shadow 2 said: evil will always prevail. His words are especially relevant so it seems: bad moments are littered throughout the game and spoils an otherwise great action adventure.

Sonic: Lost world introduces a few very strong new elements, but clings to old formulas that can’t be combined with the new 3D-style. That makes Sonic: Lost World great from time to time, but an awkward failure at others.

You will probably not find any PlayStation 4 game that looks better than The Order: 1886. The game offers an exhilarating script that is presented in a very impressive way. The gameplay seems to be holding the game back a bit, but once you are shooting The Order: 1886 is a blast. It is a pity that the game does not last that long.

This Prince of Persia isn’t a remake but is inspired by the prince’s second adventure in 1993. The prince’s old adventure was narrative focused and had beautiful hand drawn backgrounds, whereas The Shadow and the Flame is mostly centered around action suitable for mobile devices. In less than two hours you’ll swipe your way through a game with enjoyable puzzles and battles. However, it doesn’t ever get difficult or magical.

We are happy to see another game on PSVR that is truly worth being called a game. The controls could have been better, but even like this Arizona Sunshine is great.

With this fourth attempt, studio Milestone is finally on the right path and manages to deliver a good rally game. WRC: FIA World Rally Championship 4 offers a decent experience, mostly thanks to the nice controls and career mode. Unfortunately it doesn’t look as good as it should nowadays and it feel pretty unpolished.

The action in Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days is weak, without impact and uninteresting. Not very fortunate when the game revolves around action. The game can be played through in just about four hours.

The fighting system in Dragon Ball Z: Tenkaichi Tag Team may be simple but keeps things pretty engaging throughout. However, the lack of online multiplayer, the sloppy story mode and the tacked on RPG-system bring this product down.

The Occupation tells a story about sociopolitics in the United Kingdom. As a research journalist, you try to change this, which is both exciting and worth your while as long as you do not let yourself get too bothered by the technical hiccups.

Star Wars has brought us many games and the quality of those have been as varied as the galaxy George Lucas once created itself. Elite Squadron isn’t one of the good ones, unfortunately. The fights are epic and the multiplayer works fine, but the bad controls, weak story and boring missions pull this one down.

MX vs. ATV Alive tries to address gamers in a new way, but succeeds only partially with this mission. The oddly chosen structure with experience points and the lack of a red line to follow, make playing the game feel more like doing chores, while the fun factor's supposed to have the upper hand. When the chores are done though, a decent motocross game shines through and the fun commences. Just don't expect a lot to have changed since its predecessor played the field.

Cossacks 3 is a good RTS with a lot of addictive features. It's historically correct, the background music is excellent and it simply is an amazing game without adding too many distractions.

Warhammer Chaosbane offers graphics that work, a story that works and a big chunk of hack 'n slash that works. But, this is Diablo 3 called a different name with even less personality. It's not bad, we've just seen it all before.

Arkham Origins iOS is the perfect example of game development went wrong. Mortal Kombat-studio NetherRealm tried its best to create a pretty looking game, but the base concept is way too sloppy to justify its investment. The studio blindly stared at the success of Infinity Blade, instead of the famous combat system of its console counterpart.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is in many ways an improvement over the weak first game. The online-multiplayer works well just like the enjoyable fighting-system. The controls take some getting used to but fit the game once you’ve mastered them. The downside is that missions lack variety and the game has uninspired level-design. What remains is an enjoyable game that unfortunately doesn't impress in every way.

This is a very entertaining game using the Cthulhu universe very well, but both visually and when it comes to depth, it could be so much better.

The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 is big, even for this genre. The length comes from the classic, old gameplay which is a disappointment. Other point-and-clicks did modernize. The story is funny, but the characters are uninteresting and the dialogue sections are way too long.

Impact Winter is an original survival game. It is not an excellent game, which is mainly due to its repetitiveness. We do like the addition of the clock running backwards.

The basic gameplay isn’t very interesting and the battles are incredibly repetitive. On the other hand the gameworld looks the part and the story unfolds in a satisfying way. Fans of the movie could give this game the benefit of the doubt, but just barely.

Spirits of Spring is a safe game that will teach kids about bullying and friendship. The message is loud and clear, but game is very easy. Therefor Spirits of Spring is not for adults, just for children.

We’ve had a good time with this goat and its bizarre physics and a longing for destruction, despite the countless bugs and scanty content. Lovers of goat simulators definitely should play Goat Simulator, because it’s the best one over made, without a doubt.

ModNation Racers is nothing to write home about, and is best compared to standing still in traffic during rush hour. You'll stand still, pull up slightly, hit the brakes, and stand still again. Not even beautiful scenery will rectify this road trip.

Where Il-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey brings something fresh to the table in a crowded genre of WWII-flying games, in no small thanks to its realism, Heroes over Europe doesn't. Adding the Ace Kill doesn't change anything about the blandness of this title. Heroes over Europe needs a change fast before people stop caring.

Warface isn't very well-balanced: players who've been playing for very long or are paying money for their items have a noticeable advantage. The structure gets on your nerves and is very de-motivating for new players.

Wanted: Weapons of Fate looks good and plays well. However, there isn't much that makes the game special. The tutorial teaches you some pretty amazing stuff but in the end you will hardly use any of those abilities. Besides that, there is no multiplayer mode present, making the game nothing more than average. And that's a shame knowing that the game could have been much more.

Resident Evil Zero is a classic, but it hasn’t aged very well at all. So it’s a strange choice for Capcom to add nothing worth mentioning to this second release, not even motion control. If you already have this game, there’s no reason for you to buy it again, and if you haven’t played it yet, it’s hard to recommend.

As the official game for the rally world championships, WRC 5 offers a real experience thanks to smooth driving and a good setup of the game. It is a let-down that the game sells short when it comes to the technical bits.

Superstars V8 Racing isn't a game for veteran race fans but it drives well enough to please casual gamers. The game is however light on modes and the intelligence of your opponents is poor.

Though Agents of Mayhem has a slow start, the game gets very entertaining along the way, thanks to the non stop action, variation in characters and controls. The story and the jokes are pretty lame though.

A free game is never a bad thing, but another disappointing Need for Speed-game is. After the success that was Need for Speed Shift we hoped for a great comeback, but now it seems to wait a little big longer. The idea behind Need for Speed World is great, the final product isn't.

For carlovers, Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends is a treat. Never before have Ferrari's looked, sounded and drove more true to life in a video game. It's too bad that this powerful experience isn't complimented with solid execution and a layer of polish. The mediocre main mode is an example of that. Everyone who seriously wants to race, should look for their fix elsewhere.

War of the Vikings is the typical example of the type of game that Paradox publishes from the assembly line. The idea is kind of cool, but due to too many mistakes and bugs it isn't distinctive enough.

Thanks to the surrealistic atmosphere and visual style this game is very charming. The story the game is trying to tell is not really clear, which makes the game unnecessarily difficult. The puzzles are simply not logical and the hints are simply evil.

Disintegration is built on a fantastic idea, but falls apart because of the lousy execution. With a generic appearance and mediocre gameplay, it is not very appealing, which is also evident as you can hardly find a match.

Morningstar: Descent to Deadrock is a heavy, challenging adventure game. When it comes to puzzles, you are thrown in at the deep end completely, as there are rarely any hints. The result is a pure point-and-click experience that both rewards and frustrates.

Poképark Wii Pikachu's Adventure is a disappointment. Instead of an adventure you receive a never ending stream of tedious chores. The variety of attractions that are unlocked make the game bearable, but nothing more than that.

Concord feels like a game that was made when Overwatch was just getting popular, but never kept up with any development in the industry. The action is decent, but a lack of good content, personality, and unique ideas do the game in.

Planetary Annihilation has layers upon layers of features that push the RTS-genre to the next level. The problem is: these revolutionary features are so well hidden that half of the players won’t even find them. There are also some crucial parts missing. The game remains playable, but less of a high quality product as we had hoped.

Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters is a game in which you can really have some fun. A nice story with even Dutch voices. The gameplay even works with the many upgrades and tactics. Quite addictive actually. Unfortunately the game doesn't stand on it's own. The four earlier games of the Ratchet & Clank series are better and even cheaper. It's better to buy those than put 55 euros down for this latest game.

Legend of Kay Anniversary does not have the charm of Jack and Daxter nor the quality of Ratchet & Clank, but after ten years it still is a fun platform game. The sword fights are quick, challenging and pretty deep, but in some ways Legend of Kay is old-fashioned.

Baseball Riot is a fun little puzzle game that is nice for a while. After that, it gets so repetitive and frustrating, that it just does not do it for us.

Outward is an ambitious open-world game with its heart in the right place, but it is not better than its competitors. The biggest problem though is that the world is simply not interesting enough to really explore.

We Happy Few offers an interesting story and an attractive style. It is too bad collecting and crafting is so frustrating and fights are not very satisfying either. It's not a bad game, but it could have been so much more.

Dead Island: Riptide can't really justify its own existence. Shrek: Forever After is a mediocre licensed title which tries to distinguish itself with cooperative play, but does not succeed to do that in an interesting way.

Indie-game Pineapple Smash Crew tries to be a bit too old-school, and therefore lacks innovation and an interesting or challenging gameplay experience.

Etherium is a solid science-fiction RTS. It does not bring a lot of new things to the table, but it still is very entertaining. The tutorial is a bit short, we miss depth in this game and the design is not always as smooth as we would have liked. But, this games holds our attention for way longer than we would have expected. Etherium is highly addictive because of its high difficulty level and strategy elements.

The quirky weapons of Fuse are the main subject of the game and make for a nice dynamic. It never really transcends that initial moment of charm though, due to a lack of ambition. You’ll probably forget Fuse before even finishing it. Who would have expected that from a game by Insomiac?

SimCity Societies with its expansion Destinations doesn't offer you enough new stuff to keep you going. This title seems to be aimed at people who love the Sims series, because it uses elements from that game as well. Be warned, this game is very repetitive. The essence of the series seems to be lost.

Kids vs. Goblins is a Dutch roleplaying game for the iPad that starts of nicely, takes a more average turn later on but eventually leaves a strong impression with varying challenges and the strategic use of spells.

There's really not much wrong with WRC 3. The controls are fine, cars are varied and the different game types and courses make for an interesting rally experience. The audiovisual presentation isn't of the same level though, which results in a lack of sensation in the gameplay. It also gets bogged down by some irritating mistakes.

A bit strange, but fun. It’s too bad the game is very short and the controls are anything but precise, but you’ll laugh until tomorrow thanks to the crazy bodybuilders and their sexy moves.

Tower Bloxx Deluxe offers the most enjoyment in the Build City-mode. Other than that, it’s a cheap effort to get money from Xbox Live users.

Deadpool proves that he deserves his own game. It also proves that a strong character with a lot of personality can hide a number of discomforts and gameplay related frustrations. Whenever Deadpool stops making jokes, this becomes painfully obvious. But just when you're about to quit, the joker returns to keep you playing.

Blood Stone feels like a Bond-movie directed by Michael Bay. The game opens impressively, with variety in surroundings and the perfect Bond-vibe. But after an hour the lack of deep gameplay becomes grating and the shooting parts don't offer anything you haven't seen anywhere else before. Furthermore, the racelevels are downright disappointing and the only gadget in your possession is useless.

Other games in the WWE-series are especially known for their big number of possibilities, but WWE 2K15 does exactly the opposite. Unfortunately the modes in this game are not of good quality nor quantity. The gameplay has been improved since the last game, but it cannot prevent this game for being a disappointment.

Jett: The Far Shore depends on its illogical design choices. Unfortunately, that sucks all the fun out of an otherwise unique space adventure.

Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode II isn't a bad game. Graphically it's easy on the eyes and clearing a level in a few minutes from time to time is pretty satisfying. But there's little Episode II does really well, with as its biggest flaw a lack of speed thanks to average level design. Aside from irritations in a few levels and some boss battles playing Episode II isn't a punishment, but the experience is pretty damn forgettable.

Trolls vs. Vikings is a straight clone of Plant’s vs. Zombies, but that doesn’t spoil the fun. It splays nicely, is more challenging without payments and offer an interesting piece of Norrish folklore.

Dead to Rights: Retribution might not be particularly bad in a certain aspect, but it’s so mediocre and uninspired that there is no valid reason to spend your time on it.

This game is shallow and very out-dated. The source material makes it so easy to make a solid fighting game, but yet Eyes of Heaven is quite the opposite. Don't buy this game, just go for the old JoJo on PlayStation.

There are many reasons why The Crew should get an F: steering the cars is iffy, the story is horrendous, the multiplayer options are weak and visually speaking the game is simply average. That being said, if you are a roadtripper, the gorgeously designed, huge gameworld makes up for that.

The Cities of the Future expansion doesn't solve all of the problems that plagues the original, but does make for a more challenging and playable experience.

Games are often more than the sum of their parts. The reverse is the case with Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. The positives are overshadowed by the negative elements, and the result is as messy as it is boring.

If you can ignore the many faults, Venetica can offer a pretty good experience. The story and the collecting of objects and new abilities ensure that you want to keep playing. But even without the little problems that plague the game, Venetica would have never been able to be something truly special.

While technically superior to the first game, this sequel is a lot less interesting than its older brother. After an interesting first part, the game becomes a faceless repetition of the same actions: fight with enemies, and then some more. Frustratingly imperfect.

Kinect Adventures is a typical tech-demo that comes free with new hardware. It's instantly fun and demonstrates what Kinect can do, but you've seen everything in an hour and it won't take long for you to stop playing altogether. It works though, and for that it's already a fun little game to have. Make the sequel a bit longer and more varied, please.

Need for Speed Payback is one of the biggest games that we have ever seen in this franchise. Yet the game does not feel fresh and different, because the story is really bad.

Windward puts the controls over the fun with the player, as it is more a framework than a complete video game. Only the multiplayer mode gets Windward going, which means it is not the action-filled multiplayer sandbox game that was promised.

Zombie Apocalypse could have been entertaining and great. In comparison to other zombie games the developers deliver a game in which you will kill more zombies than ever for less money. It's a shame Zombie Apocalypse gets repetitive very soon though, and gives you the idea you're just running in circles. The multiplayer make up for it a little, but we can't call it more than a mediocre game.

First of all, BAJA is in no way an instant classic. But it can give you that satisfying feeling after you won a match. The steep learning curve will scare of some gamers and if you're looking for more arcade just head over to the Motorstorm camp. But if you're a fan of the off-road genre just take a shot at BAJA.

Velvet Assassin is in one word: weak. The story never reaches its full potential and furthermore the technical side is flooded with flaws. And even though the game has its moments of tension, the game fails horribly in being worth your money. Try to sneak past this one if you can.

It’s almost like Taito didn’t know why Arkanoid is fun. With Space Invaders Extreme they really went in a new direction and made a great remake of a classic game, but Arkanoid DS is too conservative and the innovations that are there only undermine the concept.
