Book of Spells can't be recommended to the average gamer. Its pace is too slow and its base is too simple and boring. But your little sister or son should find magic here, thanks to the amazingly well implemented augmented reality features. He or she might have to listen and watch more than play, but is placed in a pretty and accessible world and eventually becomes a real wizard of witch.

Sonic is finally back. Not that he was away, but he hasn't been in this sort of shape since the Genesis-days. That is not to say that he's completely like the old Sonic, because there are plenty of little niggles here for the fans to get irritated from. Still, he's fast and runs from left to right, just the way we like him.

Of course, Guitar Hero: Greatest Hits isn't as innovative as previous games, but it's a great place for newcomers to get acquainted with the franchise. The tracklist is top notch and the game is still addictive as hell.

The game has some nice action, original weapons and funny endbosses. The game isn't very original though, and it's more of the same. So if you are bored to death and have some money left, then Dark Sector could be a nice solution. But don't expect an earthquake in this genre.

The good intentions on the technical and visual part show more love for this pumped up classic, but the outcome is not that great. Thankfully Gabriel Knight had an intriguing story, good written script and good puzzles back in the day, because those things are still here and make Sins of the Fathers a decent game.

One of the most fun arcade games available for the Wii. The Brave and the Bold has fast action sequences, a big arsenal of weapons and unique moves for each superhero. The game pushes you to play on thanks to the open gameplay and humor, and the hand-drawn stop motion animation looks fantastic. The game is on the short side though and once you've finished it, there's nothing to come back to.

Artistically and visually Rime is very impressive. It is too bad the content and gameplay have gone astray.

ATV Offroad Fury 4 isn't such a bad game. But it's clear that the game hasn't brought anything new. The core of the game is solid, but graphic wise the game isn't able to cope with the latest generations. Although we have to keep in mind that this is still a Playstation 2 game. The Story Mode is great and enjoyable, but they could have left out the Freestyle Mode of the game.

Even though Blade & Soul follows the pattern of an mmorpg, the fighting system feels new enough to enjoy it until level 45. After that this game is a more standard mmorpg.

The Vita has gained a full-fledged Assassin's Creed-game, which is a victory for Ubisoft, Sony and everyone who owns the handheld. Few concessions have been made to transform this adventure to fit in your pocket, which deserves praise but also leads to frustration. The open nature of Assassin's Creed doesn't always work well with the Vita, and the handheld specific-functions fail to utilize the Vita-options in an interesting way.

​As a fighting game Street Fighter 5 has ​potential, especially thanks to the new mechanics in the battles. It is challenging, but it does not really show as the game feels unfinished and does not have enough modes and content.

Minecraft Dungeons is a pretty cool but simple Diablo clone in Minecraft setting. Unfortunately the developers forgot to actually add those unique things we love about Minecraft.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat is in some way the best game in the series. The world is big and the world is more living than ever. Fans will love it, but for newcomers Call of Pripyat might be a bit too dated and inaccessible.

No one also expected the following: as a Vita-game it is quite successful. Battle Worlds: Kronos is a tactical strategy game that borrows from classics such as Battle Isle and Panzer General. Missions take long and demand your complete devotion, which makes the game fun but slow at certain times.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 makes you feel almighty when you and your team are together, and the fusion powers make it a blast to experiment with different teams. It's a shame that the lacking RPG-elements and tricky camera bring the experience down. Fans of Marvel and beat 'em up games won't be disappointed though.

The over-the-top racing game, MotorStorm: Apocalypse, convinces with its spectacular concept. The game definitely shines as a multiplayer game, whether it's splitscreen or online. It's too bad though, that it doesn't play as well as its predecessor and the artificial intelligence of your opponents and arbitrary crashes will get your blood pressure to rise significantly from time to time.

Action Henk is a fun speedrunner that constantly challenges you to improve your own runs. The game offers more depth than you would expect, but it is not really a game to play hours in a row.

Under siege proves, that with a good control scheme, strategy games can be very playable on a console. Where the game misses strategic depth, it redeems itself by calling upon your quick strategic decisions and its high difficulty. The learning curve could've been a bit less steep though.

It's a shame that developer Press Play couldn't create a stronger control mechanic, because the game is filled to the brim with creative puzzles and varied levels. Whenever we think Max reaches its full potential, the control scheme comes in and holds in back.

The king of the motorsport makes a fine comeback. Thanks to the focus on arcade gameplay the game is fun to play, but the presentation is lacking and fans looking for realism should search for it elsewhere.

Cities in Motion is an innovative and well thought through tycoon-game. By putting the focus on the managing of public transport in the cities, the game distinguishes itself from other tycoon-games. The concept has been worked out well as a whole, but the balance in gameplay could've used more refinement.

Sports Champions is the only game in the initial Move-line-up that makes it clear how impressive the abilities of the controller are, as well as having enough gameplay to make it all worthwhile. The sports are varied and work accurately, although the presentation could've benefited from a bit more spice.

The comeback of Medal of Honor is more or less a success, although the game obviously is more traditional than some of it's younger competitors. The singleplayer paints a realistic picture of Afghanistan, but the scripting is pretty bad. The multiplayer is hard and fast and takes some getting used to. An enjoyable package.

The Adventure Editor is the star of the show in Galactic Adventures, and offers uncountable options to create the most crazy missions. It's a shame however that this add-on wasn't implemented better into the original game.

The game formula doesn't reach its full potential in Action-mode. Nevertheless Gel: Set & Match is an original and entertaining puzzle game. It's not as brilliant as Super Puzzle Fighter, nor is it as accessible as Bejeweled, but with a little extra work a sequel should proof more succesful.

You sometimes notice that this is an old PS3 game, but on most points Like a Dragon: Ishin! stands up fine. Although you have to keep Wikipedia open next to it to find out what some historical dialogues actually mean.

Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign- is only meant for the most fanatic players of fighting games; gamers that are practicing year after year hoping to compete at EVO. Though Sign is looking better thanks to the new engine, it offers a lot less characters than its predecessors.

Animal Crossing: Let's Go To The City can be judged in two ways. For gamers that are new to the series and for the experienced Animal Crossing gamer. For the first group Animal Crossing is a must buy if you own a Wii. For the second group the game will be one big déjà-vu. The game offers very few new and innovative elements in comparison to it's predecessor, but comes with a very strong game concept. Having this said, gamers that never played an Animal Crossing game can easily add one point to its grade.

When you first play Time Crisis 4, you get the feeling it's basically all the same. It's not until further in the game that you get a nice new gaming experience. The game is a succesfull conversion to the console, but the arcade style hasn't changed since the first game of the series. Also the high price of the game might be a reason for many players not to buy Time Crisis 4.

The first big dlc for Assassin’s Creed Origins is more of the same. It is okay, but simply not very surprising.

Let's face it, every RTS lover is waiting for Starcraft 2 and Red Alert 3. But don't get too focused on these two titles, because you'll miss out on, for example, WorldShift. A strategy game than looks more than fine and plays like a perfect mix between RTS and RPG. Waiting for a triple A title will be easy with WorldShift.

Wreckateer is a Kinect-game that actually works. That alone makes it better than most other Kinect-games. It resembles Angry Birds so much that Microsoft should give a portion of its proceeds to Rovio, but that doesn't mean that Wreckateer isn't a lot of fun to play in short sessions. Many different projectiles to shoot with and a challenging score-system can't prevent boredom from setting in after longer sessions though. Consider this a nice snack.

Cyber Shadow is a solid ninja game that offers an old-fashioned challenge with clever checkpoints. By the end of the game, the shine is a bit off and due to several minor flaws it ends up being just a little too often frustrating.

LEGO Batman The Videogame is the best LEGO till now. The thirty levels are, thanks to the custom made story, more than varied and offer you enough secrets to keep you busy for days. The buildings and surroundings that you see resemble the stuff that you probably built when you were just a little kid. Too bad that Traveller Tales keep making the same mistakes in their LEGO franchise.

Army Corps of Hell has a strong base, which revolves around controlling minions like you might know from Pikmin or Overlord. Well designed enemies make for challenging games and make Army Corps an addictive experience. It could have been more than its concept, but it convinces even in this form.

Castaway Paradise is Animal Crossing for iOS. Unfortunately the makers choose a free-to-play model and made the game a little rough around the edges, which makes it not as relaxing and addictive as Animal Crossing is.

Toy Story 3 is a fun licensed game. It's never really excellent, but the overall experience is just fun thanks to the variation and co-op mode.

Wallace & Grommit's Grand Adventures starts off on the right foot with Fright of the Bumblebees. Gamers who watch every episode will get the same feeling while playing this game. Add some entertaining puzzles and a friendly price tag and you know that Telltale has made yet another great adventure.

Desktop Dungeons is typically one of those games that clicks you through the day when you're bored. The mechanics are fun, humor funny, but after a day you've pretty much seen everything there is to see.

UNO Rush is a very entertaining, and fast paced card game that gives a nice little twist to the first Uno. The game demands little thinking and relies more on the sleight of hand, but will undoubtedly gets you playing for hours.

Case West is not as good as Case Zero. It costs twice as much as its predecessor and the changes it has undergone don't go along with the series' roots, even though it's still a great pleasure to slaughter hundreds of zombies. If you've enjoyed Case Zero and Dead Rising 2, you will also enjoy Case West. Just not as much.

Omerta: City of Gangsters isn’t the fantastic game we hoped it’d be. But it still has a well worked-out combat and management system and really brings home that 20’s vibe during combat. That alone justifies giving Omerta: City of Gangsters a go.

PixelJunk Monsters 1 was a great tower defense game, and its sequel is exactly that. The claymation layer is impressive, but the game is haunted by a clumsy camera and limitations in co-op.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night offers fans of Metroidvania games exactly what they've been hoping for. Seldom does a Kickstarter promise actually come true. Bloodstained feels a bit old-school, but mostly in a good way.

In the end, The BIGS 2 is just a logical sequel to The BIGS. It complements the game with a variety of modes like Become a Legend and Season. Although both are fun to play, they aren't really fleshed out. Even the addition of minigames and new gameplay-elements can't change that. This doesn't change the fact that, despite some quicktime events, the game plays surprisingly well. Both veteran and novice baseball-players will be surprised about the combination of accessibility and depth.

Wolfenstein has two sides. Sometimes, there are an awful lot of Nazi’s and there’s bullets flying right past you all the time, immersing you in the game. Other times, you just wish you could blast a bullet through main character B.J. Blazkowicz’s own head after walking through another boring alley in Isenstadt. Nevertheless, the biggest part of Wolfenstein was played with a big grin on our face. It’s a decent addition to a classic franchise.

Rematch is a much more fun soccer game than EA Sports FC, but it's basically just Rocket League. And as a rocket league like game, Rematch does everything right - at least within the lines. The teamwork is satisfying, the games are short and intense, and the feeling of control over the ball is indescribably good. It's especially the play outside the lines where Rematch still has to prove itself. There's still a lot of video game missing from this video game, especially for a game that costs 25 euros and relies on a battle pass. Fortunately, that's easy to fix, so hopefully this figure won't age well.

Overlord: Dark Legend never gets very challenging and let's you do good deeds with the ultimate bad guy, which can be a bit strange. Luckily, the game is fun the play and looks and sounds excellent.

Despite a stubborn camera and repeating battles this is still a Tomb Raider in top shape. The game is far from perfect, but it still offers something better than Tomb Raider: Legend or Anniversary. Too bad that Crystal Dynamics, even after all those years, still hasn't found a solution for the same old flaws. But, in all fairness, Tomb Raider: Underworld is an epic Lara Croft adventure where you can puzzle, discover and look at a well shaped Lara.

If you're looking for something different in the already varied arcade segment try Shred Nebula. Be prepared for long loading times and a somewhat boring soundtrack, but beyond that you've got a game that offers nice physics and more than enough cannon fodder.

The unique low-poly style, soft colors and relaxing music make this amazing puzzle game with its rich history a pleasant game to play. Unfortunately the islands are pretty empty and it is a bit too linear, which is why it feels a bit empty overall.

The ambitious PlanetSide 2 tries to make a massive and chaotic shooting game more alluring, in which it hasn't succeeded completely. It's a never ending, somewhat brainless deathmatch that is quite entertaining thanks to is firm and well balanced fundamentals. If the development continues on this path, PlanetSide 2 can only get better.

Lucky's Tale is not innovative at all, but it does show how much fun a platformer can be in VR. [Tested with Oculus Rift]

The Plucky Squire has some weird crashes, but it stands out mainly because of the playful and clever design of the game world and the variety of boss fights. The childish story is also well written, which is especially noticeable in the dialogues of the colorful characters. However, more could have been done with the creative mechanism with which the game initially draws attention.

With the exploration of vast nature reserves in the form of all kinds of animals, Lost Ember offers an original way to tell a sensitive story. However, the visual finish is too rough and the gameplay too bland to really recommend it.

I am Setsuna is a beautiful ode to the JRPGs from the 90's, but it does not really do anything new. It's a nostalgia trip for JRPG players, but that means you will also have to deal with the classic annoyances in the genre.

If you want to re-experience the feeling of playing shooters in the ninetees, but with the added benefit of HD-graphics, look no further. Wrack has that fast feeling that was present in classics such as Doom and Quake. The lack of multiplayer is a big disappointment.

Necropolis is a pretty standard dungeon crawler, but it does give things an interesting twist. The fighting system is steady, while the surprising potions and curses allow the game to be a unique roguelike. Could have used more variety though.

Super Monkey Ball Banana Splitz does exactly what you expect it to do, but nothing else. The gameplay is as addicting and challenging as it's been for years and uses the Vita's tilt-sensor. The quality of the mini-games it comes with isn't as consistent as the main game, but the good ones form the majority here. It's not a 'must have', not by a long shot. But it does expand the Vita's library by adding onto it with yet another good game.

Gears of War: Judgment shines in multiplayer as well as single-player through the way it controls and the typical, but entertaining action. The big downside is that there isn’t much to do in the single-player. The story hardly plays to the strengths of previous installments, which is a missed opportunity. The multiplayer plays great as usual, but seems lacking in content with only four maps. Judgment is an entertaining shooter on many fronts, but a disappointing Gears of War game.

Rhythm Thief is a nice rhythm game. Especially the anime-ish style and variation in rhythm driven mini games worked out well. The lame puzzles and slow pace of the adventures themselves however, make Rhythm Thief miss the allure of other games like Elite Beat agents, Professor Layton or Rhythm Heaven.

Planetary Annihilation has layers upon layers of features that push the RTS-genre to the next level. The problem is: these revolutionary features are so well hidden that half of the players won’t even find them. There are also some crucial parts missing. The game remains playable, but less of a high quality product as we had hoped.

With its familiar, deep gameplay and recognizable characters, The King of Fighters 15 is an obvious success for fans of the franchise. However, in terms of accessibility and presentation, this new part is not convincing enough to stand out from the competition. The game will therefore not gain many new souls.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps feels familiar, even though there are many new elements introduced. Not all of them are truly adding to the experience, but they are in no way detrimental. Even though the game is buggy, this metroidvania meets platformer is still a blast.

Below is beautiful and endlessly intriguing, but also rigid and immensely frustrating.

The storytelling and the interactions are not perfect, but Fragments of Him does offer a unique exploration of love and loss, which makes it worth while.

In LEGO Star Wars you were mostly doing power attacks on your enemies, in Indiana Jones the adventure and puzzle elements are more important.
