Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore comes to the Nintendo Switch as one of the most colorful and captivating games of the JRPG genre. Its new dungeon, music and character assists push the original game and its content forward, but ultimately it might fail to win over those who have already experienced the game on the Wii U.

Final Fantasy X is a true masterpiece and one of the best JRPGs of all time. FF X-2 is a decent addition to the franchise. Combine these two games in an HD version with a budget price and you get a superb deal.

It doesn't deliver the amazing level of graphics we've seen in the enhanced PC version, but the Xbox 360 edition of Witcher 2 is, by all means, one of the best western RPGs ever created.

Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 is probably the best addition to the "Storm" series, with a great roster of new and old characters combined with fights that use three different fighting styles and beautiful anime visuals.

The Burning Shores is a must-have expansion for fans of the franchise. With the addition of Seyka, Guerilla gives Aloy an ally with whom she can interact on an equal level. The gameplay elements are enriched with small additions and new skills, while the new area is visually stunning, demonstrating what PlayStation 5 is capable of.

The Ice Dragon delivers a very engaging ultimate episode packed with tense and dramatic moments, where our choices have a significant impact on the way events unfold. Overall, it’s unquestionably a fitting ending to another successful episodic series from Telltale.

It's an addictive, beautifully crafted and truly complete action/ RPG experience. Fans of the franchise will truly love it.

Yet again Codemasters proves that knows very well how to deliver a superb racing game, a game that hits all the rights spots and offers great gameplay with superb sense of speed, many interesting modes to keep us occupied for a long time and all the goodies the F1 Championship is known for.

Naughty Dog once again delivers a unique cinematic experience that has no equal. With superb graphics, unbelievable set-pieces, superb story telling and great characters, Uncharted 3 is a genre-defining game. Next time though, we'd like to see better shooting mechanics.

An excellent remake that brings back characters and story events with updated visuals. The weak point of Kiwami 2 is the combat system which we see as a missed opportunity.

Another masterpiece by 343 Industries that retains and advances all those elements for which Halo became a beloved FPS series. While the perfunctory character of Locke could be described as a mishap the campaign nevertheless opens up exciting new prospects for the next installment of Halo. Moreover, the multiplayer remains as fresh as ever, especially due to the addition of the utterly enjoyable and hectic Warzone mode.

A spectacular 2D/3D side scrolling shooter that combines all that is good in the genre with modern ideas and a classic, sci-fi mecha anime story.

After last year’s step back, NBA 2K19 seems to be back on track. With interesting gameplay additions and refinements, impeccable presentation, a much improved MyCareer and literally tons of content and modes, it really is a candidate for one of the best sports games ever. However, there’s still a particularly shady system in microtransactions, and while it seems to have been improved, we can’t help being suspicious. But for now, NBA 2K19 will truly please even the most hardcore hoops fans.

A wonderful new twist to the old puzzle platform genre.

Once again, Nixxes delivers an excellent remaster, with updated visuals that brings Zero Dawn on par with Forbidden West. The Dualsense support along with improved animations and character models makes this the definitive edition for both new and returning gamers.

Insomniac's brilliant sense of humour and superb gameplay design is present here as it was in the Ratchet & Clank series. Sunset Overdrive is probably the best Xbox One exclusive game for 2014.

This time around, Treyarch was seriously devoted into the creation of a plot that emphasized the importance of characters and storytelling. For multiplayer fans, new modes like League Play, CODcasting and being able to live stream their games on YouTube is enough to get them excited. And, on top of that, a revamped zombies mode is there for any co-operative shooter lover.

The changes from Far Cry 3 are quite hard to find here, but don't get fooled. Everything in Far Cry 4 works like a charm, offering superb gunplay, a beautiful world to explore and hours of great online play.

The newest F1 entry from Codemasters delivers a much-needed improvement for the series. Its presentation is excellent, the handling feels impressively realistic, and AI opponents react believably. Most notably, the career mode is the best in the franchise, with the potential to keep you hooked for hours.

Guilty Gear -Strive- has proven to be the game that extends the hand to those who would otherwise avoid a fighting game, while at the same time remains a glorious entry in the franchise's long history. With a deep story mode to intrigue the player and butter-smooth learning curve, helped by an innovative difficulty system, it guides them to a full and successful online experience. Despite being a little short on content and having a few minor issues with some of its new features, it definitely is the fighting game every newcomer should dare tame.

Even in its console versions, Crysis 2 stays true to its great legacy. Despite a few issues regarding the AI, this sequel is superior to its predecessors in almost every way and offers one of the most immersing campaign modes we've ever seen.

This new edition of Ubisoft's -highly- underrated platformer includes some welcoming quality-of-life improvements and enhanced visual, bringing it up to par with modern games.

This was quite the surprise. Sledgehammer Games proved that there's still ground to be explored in the Call of Duty franchise, by delivering a tight and fresh single player campaign along with the best multiplayer mode since the days of the first Modern Warfare.

The first DLC of the excellent Resident Evil 4 remake could lead to some mixed feelings. On one hand its quality matches the high quality of the base game, delivering satisfying action against old and new enemies, with gameplay that holds a few welcoming surprises. On the other hand, the story of Ada Wong is so integral to the main story that it poses the question: should it be included in the main game instead of being offered as a paid DLC?

The myriad of mini games offered in the new WarioWare game can guarantee hours of fun and laughs, especially when played with friends.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is such an enjoyable and well made game that would make you wonder if other studios can create games for Nintendo as good as herself? Who knows, maybe now is the time for Rare to rise again from the oblivion.

Torna – The Golden Country is here to complete a journey that started ten months ago. It is the tragic tale of a continent, its people and its heroes that fills up all the empty spaces of the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 lore and gives us a full perspective of Alrest and everything on it. With many improvements and interesting additions, even if some of them might not be totally welcome, the Torna expansion pack is set to satisfy even some of the most demanding players out there who lust for quality RPG tales.

A magical journey through the human feelings and the sad sense of loss. "Brothers" is one of those unique games that make the industry proud.

The overall quality of the main game, together with the interesting and entertaining new content, make the Gold Edition of Resident Evil Village a must play for anyone that had missed the game up until now.

Following the successful implementations of Monster Hunter World, Rise perfectly utilizes them and moves them a step ahead. Implementing vertical exploration, new locales, the endemic life mechanism, the addition of the loyal Palamutes and, most importantly, a cast collection of new and dangerous monsters, Monster Hunter Rise is a game that can keep players busy for a long period of time.

The combination of the huge experience Arc Systems Works has in the genre with the wonderful art and world of Dragon Ball delivered a great 2D fighting game that is masterfully crafted for purists and casual gamers alike.

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is such an excellent game, that makes its wonderful predecessor, Kingdom Battles, look plain and basic. And that is something that screams “great sequel”.

After a long absence from portable consoles Samus is back with a seemingly old adventure, which has been revamped and looks better than ever. Old and new players alike can explore the homeland of the Metroids using weapons and skills that didn't appear in the first game, whereas Nintendo highlights a bright future for a series that deserves to be back.

Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection is exactly what the word "reimagined" should mean. A loved and classic franchise, loyal to its roots, having a new life. Although the mechanics are really obsolete, it is an old-school game brilliantly crafted.

Dead Cells is nothing less than a quintessential roguelike platformer. All of its individual elements are of top quality, from the highly responsive controls to the well-thought randomization of its varied levels. Be prepared for a lot of "one more run".

It is surprising how well the developers understood the underlining reasons Sonic was so loved in the 16bit era. Gone are the autorun, the messy 3D levels and the horrible clown characters, gone is the linear cheap thrill design of the modern 3D games. In their place, we got excellent level design with hundreds of different routes, elegant design choices and supremely balanced gameplay which bring us one of the best Sonic games since Sonic & Knuckles. Pity Sega was too afraid to budget for modern graphics because they would have had a full priced, instant classic on their hands.

Battlefield 6 marks a great return to the formula that originally established the franchise as one of the top choices in the genre. It doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel, nor does it need to. Gunplay, movement, and sound design all earn top marks, delivering battles that feel chaotic yet grounded, exactly what’s needed to set it apart from its main competitor.

Tactical Breach Wizards masterfully blends the use of magic abilities with the tactics of a modern SWAT team. The gameplay is brilliantly clever, easy to pick up yet with a lot of depth. As an added bonus, the story and characters are highly engrossing, with well-written humour and an interesting plot.

Rayman is back, more energetic and refreshing than ever, teaching everyone how platforming should have been applied from the start on smartphones. If you enjoyed Rayman Origins and liked the new look of the franchise, then you should definitely not miss this one.

Disney Illusion Island is an excellent choice for both parents and their children. It's certainly aimed to a younger audience but its low challenge doesn't hinder the utterly enjoyable coop experience.

With such a generic title we would have never expected Souldiers to be one of the best metroidvania games we played and yet it truly is one of the best experiences the genre has to offer. Its world is enormous, the variety of the enemies more than satisfying and the three diverse classes offer plenty of replayability. On top of that its pixel-art is just beautiful.

Probably the best racing game we have played in years. Project CARS 2 is a fine distill of all the elements that create a great modern racing game. Realistic physics, superb graphics, flawless handling. Everything is perfected to the minute detail, offering an experience like no other in the genre.

An excellent choice for those who want to relive a traditional dragon quest game, that comes with a lot of content, excellent visuals and a great cast of characters.

Card Shark is an indie triumph. A game so original and unique as an idea, and at the same time, so well orchestrated in all the small parts that make a good game, great.

So far this is the definitive magnum opus of Quantic Dream. The breadth of ripple effects, small and large, is utterly commendable, successfully creating the sense that we truly shape the journey of our protagonists and the society around them. Of course, it helps that this is the most mature story written yet from David Cage.

It feels like the long lost semi-sequel to Maniac Manson, like another Lucas Arts gem that someone somehow forgot in a floppy disk and suddenly was discovered and released today. One of the greatest examples of writing/ puzzling/ breaking the fourth wall in adventure history, Thimbleweed Park is an instant classic whose only fault is overextending itself by it’s a-tad-too-open world gameplay and 1-2 playable characters more than needed.

The adventures of the sexy witch were superb when thye were first released on the Wii U and -even though there’s nothing really new to find in this edition- they remain superb on Nintendo’s newest console.

If we had a Playdead award for obscure platforming excellence then Little Nightmares would have been the unquestionable winner. Especially the last two chapters are a testament of perfect fusion between gameplay, world building, symbolisms and overall aesthetics. It’s truly a masterpiece albeit a disappointingly short one.

MercurySteam, after being "baptized in battle" with Metroid: Samus Returns, delivers a superb game with Metroid Dread, a captivating, fresh take on the Metroid franchise, that is also true to the vision of the old games. Either you are a fan of Samus Aran or not, this is a "metroidvania" you should not miss out.

Rift is one the most refined MMOs we've tried in a long time. Its massive invasion battles, combined with the narrative "twist" - the Rifts- offer a great deal of gaming fun. Trion Worlds' game is full of rich content, spread out across the levels. It's safe to say that Rift is an MMO that will keep players busy for quite some time!

Vertigo 2 is undoubtedly one of the standout games for PlayStation VR 2 and a must-play for shooter fans. It's safe to say that until Half-Life: Alyx arrives on PlayStation 5, this is the next best option for a story-driven shooter.

Milestone awakes our nostalgia for the beloved Hot Wheels from our childhood with this extremely well designed, addictive and beautiful game.

Warhorse delivers a completely fresh experience, being the first time an open world RPG is set in a truly authentic and grounded medieval setting. The adventure of the likable Henry is filled with unique and expansive quests, with a truly commendable variety in both their objectives and approaching strategies, giving urgency and purpose to the beautifully vibrant and troubled world of Kingdom Come’s Bohemia.

Tales of Arise has all the familiar features that we know and (mostly) love from the “Tales of” series (i.e. combat system, skits, great characters etc.), but at the same time it surpasses most of its predecessors by excelling visually, aesthetically and in its world building.

The latest entry in the Trails Series offers an excellent continuation of the saga, which presents a great escalation of the story, accompanied by new and old well-developed characters from the series.

Taking a new turn, the new Forza game delivers an immense world to explore packed with superb graphics and an incredible sense of freedom. It's not a "Forza Motorsport" game per se, but it's a great game in any respect.

Even though owners of the original edition won’t find something truly new here that justifies another purchase, the Deluxe edition of Mario Kart 8 is a masterpiece that everyone who hasn’t tried the original game should definitely play.

Blizzard returns to glory by re-balancing the whole game, introducing some great new areas for gamers to explore and adding some quite interesting classes.

Talos Principle 2 proves to be a worthy successor of the excellent first game. Once more its puzzles are designed almost to perfection and its deeply philosophical story provides an integral gravitas to the whole adventure.

This time Milestone perfected almost every aspect of their game (besides the AI), thus delivering one of the best motorcycle racing games we've seen in many, many years.

Yo-Kai Watch 3, being the definitive edition of two Japan-only superb games, is here to remind us why the series is still alive on the Nintendo 3DS, how much it has evolved over the years and why gamers and fans alike should wait for the next installment on Nintendo’s newest platform. With a more developed and better approachable battle system, two big cities to explore, two stories to play through and even more Yo-Kai to battle and add to your Medallium, this new adventure promises tons of fun gameplay.

Two superb games now available in their best console version. If you haven't played them in the past, this is a perfect chance to enjoy two of PlantinumGame's best efforts.

With stunning visuals, a mature story and multiple endings Detroit: Become Human is Quantic Dream’s best game. The PC port, despite some minor frame rate issues, is a great way to experience the game if you haven’t already played the PlayStation 4 version.

Crash Bandicoot 4 is following the footsteps of the original trilogy and enriches its content by bringing new gameplay mechanics and by offering a great challenge.
