With an addictive, fully-featured multiplayer suite, one of the finest campaigns the franchise has seen in years, and a fresh, revitalised Zombies mode, Call of Duty: WWII is an absolute blast that boldly goes where no modern Call of Duty has gone before: back to its World War roots. And it’s about bloody time.- GameGrin

I would have loved to have given this game a higher score, but I found a lot of issues with it from bugs to the things with the map and other small bits, although I did enjoy playing it because I am a huge Assassin’s Creed fan. Yes, having poo for a weapon is mildly amusing, but when there’s not that much substance to the game, the joke wears thin quicker than it ought to. It’ll be fun at a party after a few beers for an hour or two, but this isn’t a contender for the next big esport.- GameGrin

The PC version of Destiny 2 replicates the amazing gunplay the first game is known for. The visuals are gorgeous and the environments are so expansive that there is hours worth of exploring to be done. There is a huge amount of content to keep players entertained and almost all of it can be replayed with worthwhile rewards to be gained. This title lives up to its predecessor and has surpassed it in almost every way. For those looking for a casual shooter with a great story or for those who want to challenge themselves in raids and competitive PVP, this title caters to a wide audience making it a great experience all-round.- GameGrin

Featuring a stunning low-poly art style, a wonderfully well-integrated soundtrack, an ingeniously simple control scheme, an interesting transformation mechanic, and impressively designed temples, AER has a lot going for it. It’s unfortunate that the experience is as short as it is and there is no way to keep track of what’s been seen. A few more environmental puzzles and a simple journal would fix my only complaints about this exploration-heavy title.- GameGrin

Megaton Rainfall is an interesting title, it hands the player overpowered abilities and a huge sandbox to play in but forces the player to restrain themselves by making collateral damage the key to success or failure. I had hours of fun exploring the universe, checking out landmarks and discovering secrets out in the galaxy between fighting off waves of alien enemies. Unfortunately I have to mark Megaton Rainfall down for its mission-breaking bugs, however this title is a refreshing experience and a fun one at that. I recommend just taking some time to sit quietly and absorb the experience that is Megaton Rainfall.- GameGrin

Warriors All Stars does a fair job of being more than just a tie-in, and brings some genuine innovation to the table. If you ignore the trope-filled storyline and strange setting, it functions as a great stop-gap before the larger release of Dynasty Warriors 9 or as a meaty hack ‘n’ slash to get into in short bursts.- GameGrin

South Park:The Fractured But Whole is a fun experience for newcomers and fans of the TV series. While the combat can get repetitive, the story is told in true South Park fashion. Sporting more interesting mechanics than you can shake an oversized sword at, Battle Chasers has a little bit of everything from classic turn-based JRPGs for everyone. FIFA 18 is certainly an upgrade on FIFA 17 and undoubtedly the franchise is going in the right direction, but with the same flaws still remaining it is hard to solely focus on the positives. The game needs balancing out as far too much of the game is focused on attacking, rather than the grittier and more tactical side of football. FIFA 18 is superb to look at with the slick menus, pre-match changes, vast licences, wonderfully represented stadiums, and player images, but changes to its gameplay are a necessity for me. Having played PES 2018 and FIFA 18 this year, I can comfortably say PES takes the award for being the best football game, but FIFA still has the greater depth to it, and is the more sociable game of the two.- GameGrin

In summary, SteamWorld Dig 2 is a stellar addition to the Switch, and it’s a great throwback to the classic 2D platformers and side-scrollers of yesteryear. There’s more to the game than just the main story mode, and going off the beaten track to discover side quests, relics and other secrets is very rewarding. From the unique plot to the charming visuals, SteamWorld Dig 2 excels from the off. I especially loved the Western style music, which suits the theme of the game really well. On a whole, RAID: World War II feels exactly like what you’d expect from a Payday clone. It takes less of a political approach than other games featuring Nazis such as Wolfenstein or the upcoming Call of Duty: WW2, and instead moves away from the war is hell narrative to opt for a more hyper-violent, stylised approach to the subject matter. While the choice of game engine severely lets itself down, there is still much to appreciate if you enjoy other co-operative shooters of its type.- GameGrin

For an hour-long experience, the main thing I took away from The Search were cheap puzzle mechanics and quotes by American lecturer Joseph Campbell. Not only is Pro Evolution Soccer 2018 the best football game in terms of graphics, it is the best I have experienced in terms of gameplay. The level of detail and player likenesses create a game that comes as close to you'll get to the real thing. There are still a few minor issues with presentation, and perhaps a few more changes could have been made to Master League and Become a Legend, but I'm clutching at straws here. The gameplay is near perfection, the AI and goalkeepers are improved, Konami have added further licenses to their product, and the graphics are amazing. Hopefully the servers are ready for online and with just a few minor presentation improvements to be improved on, PES really has set the bar of what a football game should be.- GameGrin

Fictorum deliveries on the promises it makes and is an enjoyable experience. It might look and feel a bit dated don’t let that put you off what is a brilliant title. If you can get yourself lost in it’s spellcasting and shaping mechanic then you will find a lot of fun to be had.- GameGrin

Playing The Lazaretto is a llot like playing through a lot of different haunted house games mashed together. With more supporting details and tension built up around these individual concepts, the creators may have had something actually scary, but blended all together the game feels unfocused, as if they thought just adding in this particular thing here mixed with a few jump scares would make an instant horror game. Good horror thankfully, is not that simple. There’s always a chance that later chapters will resolve all these crazy unexplained plot elements down the line, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.- GameGrin

A solid version of a classic, with some nice extras. It’s faithful to the gameplay and it looks the part, but it doesn’t do anything that we haven’t seen before. If you’re not looking for a reinvention, then it’s a good game to play, just don’t expect to be overly surprised by anything.- GameGrin

There’s a lot to like about Community Inc. Unfortunately there’s also a lot to hate. The game shows a remarkable amount of potential - a potential that should have been polished off in Early Access or in beta. As it is, that mistake means that it’s difficult to recommend the game in its current state and at its current price point. Though Community Inc will undoubtedly get much better, it’s perhaps worth waiting until it does.- GameGrin

While not having the exploration of Minecraft, this story-centric title provides an interesting experience that will give any player a few hours of entertainment. The addition of Crowd Play makes the game far more interesting than some other Telltale games.- GameGrin

Seeing Impact Winter through to the end will be a struggle in itself. It is a shame that Impact Winter is filled with both bugs and design problems as at it’s core there are the makings of a brilliant title. For now though it is one to avoid unless you are willing to deal with the problems.- GameGrin

With this stimulating narrative, Lydia is a steady explorative adventure that will leave you speechless by the time you finish it. Its take on adult themes within a childish aesthetic feels familiar but it accomplishes enough to set it apart from other like-minded indie titles. It’s a solid debut release by Platonic Partnership and leaves me intrigued to see what comes next from the Finnish studio.- GameGrin

You can’t overlook the fact that Rogue Islands is currently lacking in content, but it’s to be expected whilst still in its early access stages. If the development teams behind this whimsical creation can continue on the path they’ve set out on, I’m convinced this game will achieve great things. With the recent addition of Keystone Games’ development team, the future of Rogue Islands looks set to be a bright one. Heck, I’d even go as far as saying we may be in for a rare treat; an enjoyable, Roguelite FPS.- GameGrin

For some people this is more a 7-8 game. But when its main feature is arcady without substantial main or side content. This is a game that is best appreciated as a recommendation for those looking for a short solid gameplay experience. As opposed to a game-changing, eye-opener of a title.- GameGrin

Oafmatch is not a bad game but it could've been so much more had there been a few improves to the games systems to mix up the formula. Along with the lack of real feedback to the player, Oafmatch is a hard one to recommend. It's a good match-three game just don’t expect to see this one through to the end.- GameGrin

Through excellent dialogue choices, interesting item usage, and an immersive story, The Pillars of the Earth keeps the player interested from beginning to end. Becoming invested in the game's multiple protagonists is rewarded with a complex narrative that twists and turns to play with expectations.- GameGrin

This promised so much more than it delivered. It's a good game, but it's just not as good as its predecessors. Whilst Micro Machines World Series is good fun, it doesn't offer enough to elevate it to the status of its forefathers.- GameGrin

Castle of Shikigami is a decent port of a fun but difficult bullet hell SHMUP. With some nightmarish enemy designs and plenty of replay value it’s a solid package let down by a dated appearance and its lack of extras.- GameGrin

Full disclosure, this started as a video review, but the program I used managed to mess up the recording. I’ll probably do the rest of the episodes as video reviews, if I can get things running correctly. I’m eagerly awaiting the next episode, titled The Pact, as several of the plots The Enigma began look promising, and incredibly interesting.- GameGrin
