I whole-heartedly believe that anyone with even a passing interest in the brawling genre, or the Japanses criminal underworld should pick this game up. It’s a beacon, a light in a sea of mediocre. Seriously, one of the best PS2 games to come out in a very long time.- GameFocus

Unfortunately, I suspect that the initial impressions of Section 8 will not be positive for many due to the slightly odd setup system, fairly complex character customization system and bland single player campaign. This is fair to a certain extent as all of these are valid issues but once you become accustomed to the game it really does offer an awful lot of value.- GameFocus

F.E.A.R.3 isn't flawless, nor inventive but in the end, it works and deliver the thrills and excitement fans and non-fans are looking for in a $60 game. We can certainly ask ourselves why the game took so long to develop if it was going to lack the essence of what made other Gran Turismos appealing to play. Sure the graphics are great and there’s a bunch of cars to unlock but if there’s no structure to keep me going back to the game, the willingness to play often will simply go away. Regardless of this, Gran Turismo remains an interesting game to check out…even though it’s not worth the five year wait.- GameFocus

Crackdown 2 doesn't take any risks, instead opting to preserve the spirit of the first game almost verbatim. The lack of progression is undeniably disappointing in some respect, but at the same time you can't help but have fun. All in all, it is fairly a short romp (expect anywhere between 5 to 8 hours of gameplay), its story is unfocused, and the replay factor is minimal at best. The Ninja Gaiden games aren’t for everyone. People will hate it; some will love it to death. The adventure may be linear and the hack n’ slash ridiculously repetitive but it’s so much fun. Despite the fact that this revamped version of last year’s Ninja Gaiden 2 game does things differently, it manages to keep the essence of the game intact. Taking into account that you might have never played a Ninja Gaiden game, there’s no reason why you should pass on this one.- GameFocus

There’s no doubt in my mind that Halo 3: ODST is a good action game. Unfortunately, for many gamers, the price tag will be an issue and will play a huge role into the decision of buying, rent it or get it later when its price drops. Add to the fact that Firefight isn’t supported by a matchmaking system, the offering of a standalone disc that contains the multiplayer mode of a game that millions of folks already own (minus three maps) and that re-uses most of what we’ve seen in Halo 3, Microsoft and Bungie have put a small cloud on their cherished franchise that I hope it will never show up again.- GameFocus

Back in May, Sony delivered the best SingStar experience ever and sent a clear message to its competitors. But here, it regresses. Sure, it’s maybe good thing for those who haven’t bought the first game but I just don’t understand why, a person like me who downloaded some songs out of the SingStar Store, would buy this one with no noteworthy options like Trophies, Online Multiplayer or a track ripping system a la Rock Band 2 for those who don’t download premium tracks. Don’t get wrong though, this game remains a cool game, it’s just that I expected more.- GameFocus
