Its physics system is worthy of praise and the visual environment fits well within the game but after a while, Baseball Riot becomes too repetitive and the game features nothing that makes it really unique or that sets it apart from other like-minded games.

Mekabolt is a simple and accessible platform game that features a no-frills gameplay and has enough to keep players amused for some time. It's also a rather short experience and doesn't have much to make it rise above its peers, so it turns out to be something more in line with younger players or with those who are not very experienced in the plaforming genre. An effort that does some things right but which doesn't get to the same threshold as its most formidable competitors on the Nintendo Switch.

It's a pity this gets disturbed by excessive loading times which drag themselves for far too long and that too much repetition of its ideas can make it dull and uninteresting after a short amount of time.

Costume Quest 2 starts on the right foot and quickly puts the player at the centre of a light-hearted narrative along with the colourful displays that adds an immediate appeal. As the adventure goes on, however, expectations start to fade as the game becomes too repetitive. Its challenges become less compelling and customization options too limited which goes against what a solid RPG should stand for.

The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame tries to tweak the formula of the previous game and despite providing some fun moments and being an accessible game with plenty of content, it doesn't fulfill its goals when it comes to deliver a competent, enjoyable game. Its uninteresting world, lack of connection with the movie and technical issues make this a passable effort that will disappoint those looking for a good experience based on the movie.

It doesn’t push any boundaries, though, and is covered with déjà vu, which means Angry Bunnies will not conquer a new audience.

Tachyon Project's brand of twin-stick shoot'em up is hardly anything new and has been done a thousand times but that doesn't stand in the way of the game offering some fun, fluid and free-flowing gameplay. Where Tachyon Project becomes less interesting is when it makes players increasingly frustrated due to its punitive difficulty, with the experience suffering as well from its levels that resemble each other too much.

ROCKETSROCKETSROCKETS has a very unambiguous title which pretty much says what the game is all about: rockets. While there is some fun to be had in these rocket-propelled battles, especially when it comes to multiplayer, the game has little to offer beyond that and its shallow gameplay experience quickly becomes too repetitive.

AO Tennis 2 on the Nintendo Switch sets expectations high but for a tennis simulation, everything falls below the required standards. While the career mode and the player creation tool are interesting, the game's cast of players feels disconnected from reality, while the gameplay feels too demanding and the graphics are simply out of date for the current time. Adding some performance issues to that doesn't make AO Tennis 2 any better and in the end, what could have been a good tennis simulation falls into a more disappointing side of the spectrum.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal World Duel Carnival appears as a mutilated effort which lost a lot of its content on the journey from Japan to the Western markets. The lack of a multiplayer of any kind and its short lifespan, as well as an overall sub par visual outlook, mean that only the most dedicated fans of the Yu-Gi-Oh! series will find reasons to appreciate this game, as it still manages to keep the spirit of the series intact.

The very time-consuming grinding process, which requires the player to constantly work on the units to raise their level, will most likely erode the patience of even the most dedicated players and all elements of strategy are wiped out before the incoming barrage of enemy soldiers.

Space Pioneer is a simple game made for simple moments and while this mostly derives from its origins in mobile devices, there's also little sense of purpose in the game's progress. The local multiplayer mode turns out to be a very good way to extend its lifespan but for solo players, the experience will quickly run out of steam and become too repetitive.

There is nothing to say about a game that promises very little and aims very low. This is a low-cost, low-ambition, low-achievement title - there are no significant problems, but its margin is so narrow that there's no space to do anything else other having a short-lived entertaining run that won't take long to finish.

If sports games bearing the Mario name are supposed to be enjoyable in a certain Nintendo fashion that Camelot has proved before can be done, Mario Sports Superstars is definitely the black sheep of this family. By including five sports that hardly ever get to be minimally fun at all, this is an effort that falls short of its goals, despite its rich visuals and good intentions.

Yet another zombie title in a saturated market segment, How To Survive needs to learn what it title says. While it lures players in a fun way, the game quickly falls into a succession of unchallenging and repetitive assignments. The lack of an online cooperative mode only aggravates the case and its overall lifespan is too short for even the most enthusiastic zombie fans.

Slender: The Arrival makes its Nintendo Switch debut six years after the original release and the result is a mixed bag: its sound atmosphere is still as breathtaking as it was and does an excellent job at keeping players on their toes; visually speaking, the game is showing its age. Overall the game's short lifespan, repetitiveness and generic plot mean this experience is rather average and doesn't fully stand out.

Heroland could have been something of a greater stand. Instead, this attempt at making a kind of an RPG simulator turns out rather dull and repetitive. Not that the ideas here are bad in any way, and the game's dialogues and character models are something to praise but unfortunately, the way the game's concept is implemented leaves a lot to be desired and the experience loses appeal quickly enough.

With an official license that allows the game to feature plenty of real vehicles involved in actual, this will be a good added value for followers of the sport. Other players will find some variety of game modes but not much more that stands out, despite its sharp gameplay. The lack of online multiplayer is a gap and the game features quite a few technical issues and framerate drops that end up harming its performance, all of which make it less appealing to those who are not keen on this kind of sport.

The JRPG style is not going through its finest hour and it’s not Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars that will lift it upwards. While the battle system is very well implemented and the breeding function is a welcome detail, nearly everything else is missing: an involving narrative, a captivating exploration, charismatic characters and appealing graphics are all absent from this lacklustre and overall tedious production.

Poncho lives much more off its puzzles and mental reasoning demands than of platforming action - not to mention it features unlimited lives - and any potential for a fluid action game is lost in this.

Reed Remastered is a platformer built around a large number of short levels which can attract players with their minimalist but interesting pixel art style, and a potential to be played along short, fun spells. The game turns out less appealing when it comes to its exaggerated repetitiveness, an incoherent difficulty level where some areas seem to be artificially difficult and an overall short lifespan.

Iro Hero is certainly a very challenging and tough 2D shoot'em up whose similarities with other old-school classics of the genre will not go unnoticed. It's also a very hardcore experience, tailored mostly to players looking for a challenge of the kind, rather than for the general audience and this is where its biggest weakness lies.

Drancia Saga features some well designed elements, namely adding some RPG flavour to a simple game. Nevertheless, the work that went into this port from the mobile market falls short of expectations, as the game skips the 3DS capacities altogether and still requires a price tag that feels pretty heavy compared to its zero-cost in the mobile market.

Roving Rogue departs from a unique and refreshing concept – what in the world happens when videogame heroes end their quests? It doesn’t go much further than this, though, and quickly becomes a repetitive and unappealing generic platformer, which is a pity as there was a great potential to explore with such an original premise.
