An exercise in style developed by those who have a steady hand and certainly know how to shape a good genre title, enhanced by artists who have managed to impress an artistic direction capable, at times, of really piercing the Switch screen.

Project Winter is a fun, well thought out and pleasant survival-cooperative also from an aesthetic point of view.

While the difference in tone and gameplay between the two games is quite apt, on the other hand, the global superiority of Super Mario 3D World compared to the new adventure is also evident, which ends up turning out to be an appendix or a little more. The effect is that of a very solid pairing, which once again celebrates the undisputed supremacy of the Big N in the platforming world.

Inspired and captivating, Little Nightmares II fits smoothly and coherently in the wake of its predecessor, intelligently and stylishly expanding the story to a perverse and distressing, yet at the same time almost irresistible, dimension.

Persona 5 Strikers is ultimately a must-have title for JRPG fans and for anyone who has loved the epic of the Phantom Thieves of Hearts, as well as the last chance to play the role of the charismatic Joker and leave for a long journey among the most beautiful cities in Japan.

Big doubts remain about the durability of the product: in terms of content, Destruction AllStars did not seem ready to sustain the attention of the average player for more than a handful of hours, and despite its undoubted qualities it could easily end up in oblivion well before the arrival of any additions and corrective noteworthy. To this we must unfortunately also add the total impossibility of playing with friends in the individual modes, undoubtedly among the most effective of the package. A limitation that, in a game like this, could prove to be particularly disabling in the long run.

Cyber Shadow is a good product overall, and a decent debut for Mechanical Head's young Finns; a two-dimensional action that pays dignified homage to a game formula capable of still carving out an important space in today's videogame panorama. Its distinctly hardcore nature and amarcord vein make it a title probably unappetizing to a majority audience, certainly pleasant for lovers of old action-platform arcade experiences on the edge of game over. Too bad for the absence of that ludo-stylistic flicker capable of making it emerge, as well as its questionable rush to a truly unnecessary excess.

The small "pedestrian" experience of Skookum Arts shows off a rare and precious creative intelligence, so accessible and at the same time witty in its continuous games of logic, without ever neglecting an artistic component which, far from being a mere support to the action , points directly to the sight and heart of the player, making an almost perfect center.

Overall, therefore, the remasters of Nioh 1 and 2 boast a solid and satisfying performance profile, while not marking a clear step forward compared to the previous versions of the two titles, at least as regards the general performance of the graphics sector.

With a premium license like that of the World of Darkness, it would have been legitimate to aim for higher goals. Werewolf The Apocalypse: Earthblood is instead an action game son of a time now too ancient, inaccurate in the gameplay, very lazy in the composition of the levels and very weak in the progression. The good thing is that the narrative tries to weave the plots of an environmentalist, cruel and merciless story, and that the fighting phases, at least for the first few minutes, try to convey a feeling of vigorous power. Nonetheless, the game soon begins to show all its limitations, not only due to a tight budget but also a clear lack of inspiration. In short, the wolf of Cyanide does not howl at the moon: it whines.

If Alan Wake was an introspective, crepuscular and dreamlike thriller, Jesse Fayden's adventure adheres more decisively to the logic of genre, recovering (from House of Leaves as well as from the Area X Trilogy) a sprawling, obsessive narrative, in a strongly intimate and in any case allusive science fiction.

Thanks to its peculiar tales of storytelling and staging, the Skeleton Crew production acquires the flavor of those stories with an ancestral charm that are worth listening to, so short yet intense, often harbingers of small - sometimes great - emotions.

The night of the monsters may therefore not be the shocking event that we all expected, especially after the achievements of Lacrimosa of Dana, but a good story and the tested gameplay of the series, here embellished with a handful of new mechanics and above all by the Gifts of the Monster, which among other things greatly lighten the exploratory phases, still make it a delightful action RPG.

An epilogue that is not exactly explosive, but totally consistent with the creative path of the development team, which over time has composed a content offer able to offer players dozens and dozens of hours of heart-pounding fun, including loads of loot, levels of additional difficulty, new mechanics, new weapons and extraordinarily tough enemies.
