Thronebreaker is also a fairly problematic title in its card game aspect: artificial intelligence does not prove to be a stimulating adversary and, after a while, the battles are boring because of a variety that is not so pronounced.

The Saints Row reboot offers a fun experience, made even more varied by the numerous Criminal Enterprises and capable of bestowing smiles, given the presence of crazy weapons to discover and out of the ordinary Skills. In addition to the journey of brotherhood at the base of the story, the real element that pushes to extend the stay in Santo Ileso is the boundless customization, which will allow you to have the last word on the look of characters, weapons, cars and the Saints HQ. Anchored in some ways to stylistic features of the past, the latest Volition effort is affected by some critical issues both on the playful and purely graphic front and more generally fails to make the series reach new evolutionary peaks. That said, if you're a lover of chaos and easygoing, manageable criminal travels, get ready to end the summer with a bang.

Against all previsions Driver: San Francisco, with its Shift mechanic, works great. Lots of different tasks and a 70's hollywood style of screenplay made the Ubisoft production a solid hit and a good revamp for the brand.

A solid but not excellent puzzle game. The Turing Test is a nice title, with interesting puzzles and an enigmatic story. Some rooms are complex and compelling, but at the end of the adventure truly memorable puzzles will be less than expected.

Crazy shootings, a successful script that mixes comedy with clichés, and last but not least, a graphic restoration of the highest level, make Destroy All Humans! 2 Reprobed an excellent remake that we are convinced will be able to entertain both those who have already loved the saga, as well as the players who have never approached it before. Unfortunately the title suffers from a somewhat repetitive mission structure typical of the open world of sixteen years ago, but overall it still manages to engage the user thanks to an immediacy that has become damn rare these days.

The EA Sports revolution comes to life in FIFA 22 for next gen, but in our opinion we are facing a starting point and certainly not a goal for Canadian football. The innovations guaranteed by Hypermotion Technology, a real pillar of this year's offer, give the scenic impact and gameplay a realism that is unprecedented for the series. Unfortunately, the refinement in the animations and the artificial intelligence tricks clash with the idea of football that Electronic Arts has been repeating for a decade now: spectacular and frenetic, but too fast and not very inclined to strategy. In addition to the technical improvements, there is a content offer that has never been so rich and complex, but in large part a little too anchored to the past. In short, FIFA is heading towards excellence again without fully achieving it: it begins to transform its beating heart, but not its own head. And for a champion to become a champion, it is necessary to have both.

The new expansion for TESO is not as big as the previous DLC, Orsinium. It costs a little less (2000 crowns) and has a light-hearted questline. The interesting thing is that it enhances and upgrades the gameplay, finally giving a relevance to the shadowy, stealthy and furtive activities.

Split/Second: Velocity is a godd arcade racing game. Inheriting the gameplay mechanics of the chapter directed to the home console, the PSP's version looks good. Certainly it isn't a perfect game: technical glitches make some races more frustrating than it should, but fun is always guaranteed.

Master of Magic, a remake of the 1994 strategy classic, brings back to life a perhaps unjustly forgotten title, but responsible as much as colleagues with the most high-sounding names for having contributed to the success of the 4X genre. The work of the development team seeks and obtains fidelity to the original material but also presents unexpected simplifications. In any case, longtime enthusiasts would do well to prepare themselves for a long, very long journey to become sorcerer supreme, but this time in a mostly effectively modernized experience.

Midnight Fight Express is an adrenaline-pumping brawler that gives the player considerable freedom of approach. Given their short duration, the levels are faced again without thinking too much, perhaps to take advantage of new skills or to get better ratings. The plot is clearly reduced to the bone and the technical profile reveals the limits of production but we are still faced with a product capable of teasing fans of the genre, without a shadow of a doubt.

When the "grind&gun" works at its best, Sunset Overdrive is a joy to play, and the time needed to master the controls is well spent. On the other hand, the screenplay can't keep up the pace, offering boring characters and anticlimax, and the characters' growth in strength is slow and weak. Hundreds of collectibles and copycat secondary missions don't add much to the short main story mode: a true shame, since a more balanced offer in terms of gameplay and missions could have made a great exclusive out of Sunset Overdrive.
