    Neversoft astonished everyone with an expansion equipped with all the features of a complete game. The introduction of the astonishing Expert+ mode and the tweakings about the career mode and the gameplay made Guitar Hero Metallica a "must have" for every gamer. The songs of the californian band seems to have been written perfectly to fits the Guitar Hero game structure and to involve the player completely. It's a pity that everything good in the game does not apply to the "non-Metallica" songs in the tracklist.

    Resident Evil 5 is not a masterpiece. It lacks originality, and reuses old gameplay mechanics that seem too scheming and stiff for the next gen standards. RE 5 stands in a sort of Limbo: it doesn't have the dynamism of an action game, and it lacks emotional transport typical of a survival horror. Despite this, it is still a good gaming experience, thanks to the excellence in graphics, the solid plot, the variety of the situations. It's a good ending for a series that needs a refreshing twist.

    Although it has an improved graphical system (16:9 and 480p scan are available), and a control scheme perfectly functional, Pikmin is the same game of six years ago. Those who own a copy of the original version can leave New Play Control on the shop shelves. But those who have never experienced the adventures of Olimar, should take the opportunity to discover one of the most creative game in the past generation. Deep, immediate, poetical: Pikmin is a great classic of videogame industry.

    Halo Wars is greatly linked to the Halo Universe, and for this reason the plot, the character and the unit design are great. But despite this fidelity and a control scheme perfectly functional (the best ever designed for a console RTS), Halo Wars Experience is not that deep, strategically speaking. The enemy routines and the possible attack patterns are too simple, and the game looks like a “tactical hack’n’slash”. So, the game is suitable for those who seek immediacy and “vulgar strategy”, but it may be too simple and linear for the old RTS lovers.

    It's a shame that Sonic has to speed down to attack his enemies during the run through wonderful Camelot-inspired backgrounds. The game looks fantastic, sound great, and when we are allowed to run fast, dodging obstacles or jumping on the head of our enemies it also plays very well. But too often we are forced to stop our run to fight the enemies, in a simplistic hack&slash structure that tone down the overall impression that the game leaves to the gamers.

    Killzone 2 is a rock solid First Person Shooter, developed with care and essential for the PS3 Line Up. It’s a peculiar title, realistic in the approach, dark and gloomy, conveying a strange perspective about war and obedience. The single player experience is linear and not that long, but the multiplayer is perfect, stressing a tactical aspect that is not so diffused in the other exponents of the genre.

    RACE Pro is an upstream game, without any redundant option, totally focused on gameplay mechanics. SimBin Studios delivered, despite an old looking aesthetics, a Triple A game, using their experience and their passion for races.     Street Fighter IV is probably the best beat’em up of this generation. The gameplay mechanic can entertain who seek immediacy, but surely fulfills even the hardcore gamer needs, thanks to a deep system which involves Focus Attack Dash Cancel and impressive Juggle Combos. Technically speaking, the game is awesome. Maybe some players would not like the character design (gothic and grotesque), but it is perfect to revitalize the brand (following the post-modern artistic wave). A game developed with passion and method; probably the best “fan service” ever seen.

Obviously, gameplay mechanic and game structures are very similar to GTA IV ones; that means repetitious missions and variety lack.     After few months in witch our Wiis had been abused by girlfriends and parents, it's time to destroy our Balance Board, hide his battery and take again the Wiimote, thanks to the first big hardcore title from Sega. House of the Dead: Overkill is trash, pulp and wild. It's not only aesthetically perfect, but also a exalting gaming experience. Technically speaking the game is good, despite of some issues regarding framerate, and it's art direction is terrific. For an On Rail shooter, the game structure is very solid and consistent, and the replay value extremely high.

    X-Blades is totally incapable of attracting experienced gamers. Even if it shows a certain variety, the level design is awful, the structure is deeply fragmented, and the gameplay is obsessively repetitious. Moreover, X-Blades is the button-mashing paradise, and it fails to convey a deep Hack’n’Slash mechanic. Technical issues regarding the dull camera system, the bad looking cell shading, the terrible character design, are there to keep players away from the game.
